I've been on a huge cocoa kick lately so it's no surprise I'm lovin this, I'm getting buttercream w chocolate and coffee espesso and the urge to mix, slather and concoct all kinds of chocolate experiments w my other cocoa based scents. There's something warm and comforting about this as well and I thought oh it's just so smoothly blended but it's Cuddle Bunny at work here that you really cozy up to.

This one is somewhat lighter to me, more like Dream Lover, it has more of a powdery aura. But at the same time I get the espresso/cocoa heart; it's interesting those two qualities are co-existing to my nose. But I like it, this scent has always been a favorite of mine, whatever the differences may be.

I always love a good lesson. In this instance, I have "assumed" for over a year now that I can't "do" LPs with cocoa or chocolate. The closest I've been able to tolerate is cocoa butter, and I don't particularly LOVE that on me either. I don't even remember which LP I put on that was chocolate forward but I DO remember running to wash it off after about 30 minutes because I was getting nauseous over how the chocolate was seemingly going rancid with my body chemistry... and I quickly traded away THAT bottle. Since that time, I've avoided any LP chocolate scent, and any I've gotten as freebies or in a sampler I didn't even bother to try.

So I get this month's sampler. I quickly assumed that Velvet Kisses would make it into the trade pile untouched. I was curious however (probablly because I very fond memories of my TGIF "Velvet Hammer" days) so I tried it. I liked it wet, I liked it 20min in... I LOVED it an hour later. Yes there is chocolate but this one works on me. It is luscious, creamy, warm and sexy. I don't get coffee (which is a good thing - I'd rather drink my coffee than smell like it). I do get little wafts of mandarin orange and amber that flip flop as it wears.

Herein lies the lesson: Mara can (and will) take an ingredient that you mistakenly thought you disliked in a scent and combine it in such a way that will surprise you. So never 'assume' or judge prematurely because you will miss out on something incredible. This one will not only be FB but back-up bottle worthy for me.... and it has totally shifted my paradigm on choosing LPs.

The Cuddle Bunny Phero is perfect for this one too...

Yep; this is what we all always say! :D There's always that one scent where you say, "I never even knew I loved this till now!" but it's only the beginning of a longer journey.

Warning! Put this on and then hold your breath for fifteen minutes! If you don't, you will most likely eat your wrist off or consume every piece of chocolate in a ten mile radius!! It is that good. After fifteen minutes, the vanilla begins to come out. I didn't get any other notes..just chocolate-vanilla goodness. This is really great!

This version smells as amazing as the original. Most notable ti me, it smells much lighter on the Orange.

I get the chocolate/coffee grounded with the resins. But, as this is new, the resins are buried deep. I'm loving my original bottle because the resins are aged and add such depth & complexity to the scent. This will be nicely aged by the time I'm ready to open it up.

The CB phero is still one of my all time favorites. Such a complimentary blend to go with this deep, delectable, sexy scent.

My scent is not that great ( ironically )

So sadly I might not be able to describe it perfectly .. BUT

my first impression is BOOM! have some cocoa slapped right in your face.

I LOVE THAT,

After a while it became more subtle to me...

But I could still smell it. ( normally I wont be able to smell my own

perfume after a little while so I bet it is still strongly present to other people )

and when I smell my wrist it smells like a combination of cocoa and something

soft and cuddly? girly?

I cannot place it but I really like it.

it might be slightly addictive even? :Emoticons04235:

like wishing it was a bit stronger everytime I smell it.

could be the pheromones.

On my previous order I bought and tried a sample of original scented cuddle bunny. It was too strong of a sharp floral scent for me that saddly threatened to cause a headache. I was disappointed b/c I really wanted to try out the phero blend. I then discovered Velvet Kisses and was excited as I tend to like foodie blends.

Let me say the scent is like dessert! Chocolate, creamy, buttery... not an obvious coffee scent but it adds depth. I also didn't notice an orange note but next time I have it on I will definitely sniff it out. It is a very light scent and I imagine would layer beautifully with anything sweet/creamy maybe even a little spicy! It also faded quicker then I'd like but reapplying isn't something i mind. I'm excited to try it out on my espresso-white-mocha drink addicted man friend. He loves sweet scents and I think this w/ CB could be a real hit. :)

This scent is really comforting to me. Kind of soft and fuzzy. It's sweet, but a little powdery. It's not incredibly 'foody' on me, which is neither here nor there, since I like foody and non-foody scents, but I thought it was a little surprising considering the ingredients list.

But it does make me think of cuddling up with a hot cocoa in a blanket in front of a fire while snow falls outside.

Oh warm kissed choco-latte Cuddle Bunny how do I love thee...:-) What a joy it was wearing this. I wore this to work and on a first date. I am not sure where I liked the results best!! Let me just say that the scent is "cholatey-delicous" (yes, I was a child in the 80's if you guys remember that commercial LOL). Good for the foodies, vanilla came out muuuuuuuuch later.

On to the Cuddle Bunny...my female coworkers were oh so sweet and cool. Reminded me of the Golden Girls theme song "Thank you for being a friend"...my boss was totally accommodating (I'm going to wear this when I ask for a raise!!), I felt so good and mellow and comfortable. Now I did not feel sexy like with Cougar or glamorous like with LFM, but I felt warm and cozy and just like life was good to me...I like that feeling.

Now on to the BANG...my first date. My date was soooo comfortable, we laughed, we got on very well. Everything just felt so dang on comfortable, and he was definitely chivalrous and is already talking about all the things he wants to do for me, gifts, how he wants to dote on me, a taking care of people in general, even offered to carry my purse (lest I not strain my wrists LOL). I really enjoyed wearing this. The selfies are second only to Cougar.

Yeah see, that's the CB in action - it definitely brings on that "let me take care of you forever" vibe in certain men.

CB rules. I used to wear it so much. I love both the selifies and the responses. I burned out a bit I think. But, it's always a hit for me. Maybe Scented CB is what I'll wear today. It's been a long time. :)

I love VK too. Just wait till your bottles ages a bit. Resins (Amber & Myrrh) age well. :)

CB is a must for me when I go to the mall. For some reason every sales person is rainbows and glitter when I wear this. Even the cranky teenagers! It's a must have for me when I do Christmas Shopping. There's no way I go to the mall sober or without CB during the holidays.

Sadly, this needs to not be on my body again. It's very rare that my man says anything negative about a scent I have on, and it's happened twice with this one. Both times, his reaction was surprisingly negative. I told him phero was "cuddle bunny" the first time, he said something about not knowing "who would want to cuddle with someone who smelled like that." Seriously. I thought maybe he was just in a mood, but last night he said "What's that? You smell like the exact kind of chocolate that I don't want to eat." He's never rude about this kind of thing, except for the one time he said he was impressed that I had so many beautiful perfumes and I "managed to make a combo that mimic'd cat pee." But he even said that with a smile.

Bottom line, I do somethng bad to dark chocolate notes. It smells different in the bottle than on my skin, and there's just too much other good stuff to wear for me to care. I'll keep my spray of Howl, because my kids love it, but I think I might just mist their room at bedtime once in a while.

I can't do the chocolate scents either, Eastwood22.

Also I think CB makes my husband bitchy. I will have to experiment more, but if it does, I don't know what to make of that.
