Apparently anise smells like liquorice candy to me.

This is a sleeper hit for me! I love it! When it first goes on, I smell something dusty, almost chocolatey, and then very shortly afterwards, the anise creeps out. It blends so well with the chocolate/cocoa note that they almost seem like one note! Yes. I need this.

I am almost 5'9", but I rarely think about it. Until I wear heels. I hope I come across as confident....I am not sure of the women's reactions, but I think it may be the pheros.

 

I can understand people being a bit intimidated by tall men, especially if they are muscular or solid and tall. I never considered that women could be a bit intimidated by tall women. Oddly, my mom is tall, but shrinks, tries to hide, and hates heels. I tell her all the time if I had her height I would supermodel work it.

 

Perhaps in my case it could be the pheros plus height. If peeps can be intimidated by height alone + a dominant phero then I can see that.

 

Here, here...on trying new pheros - can be fun. I have had a bit of "testing" from the domme pheros, but I think the benefits of the few I have worn outweigh the negatives. Especially when you get good self effects from them.

As a petite female (5'1" if I stand up tall enough ) I can definitely attest to being intimidated by tall women. Moreso than tall men, actually. Most tall women come off as alpha to me from the get go unless they are very, very strongly not so. Oddly enough, all of my closest female friends are 5'8"+ except one (who is my height). My best friend is 5'8" and loves 5 inch heels, I don't really wear more than a couple inches - the first impressions people get of us is hilarious, because without fail she is always taken to be older & more alpha and she is neither of those things, haha.

This is another one that surprised me Once again I read the notes and thought - hmm, anise, hit or miss - not really ever thinking it will be a hit (just like Flying Potion when I saw licorice - how WRONG I was then too!) This is absolutely fascinating! I think my problem is that I expect things with anise to smell only of anise and that it will be the only thing I register - not that it will compliment and enhance everything else. This one is GREAT! It's earthy and hints at foodie with out being foodie and...and...I actually think I'm loving the anise note in it...and the oud and the musk - I think it's the musk? I don't even WANT to try to pick out everything because it just smells so DARN great all together! I could TOTALLY roll in this like catnip!

Hi Eggers, it's saying it's sold out for me also. Not sure if it is or not. Did you just keep checking back or reloading or something? I know today is the last day to order this year so I am confused, maybe something is going on with the cart b/c of that (?) I was just going to order one bottle of this and a sampler pack as well, I've been waiting for a new scented Leather for a long time b/c Dangerous Games has berries in it and doesn't' work on my skin. Hmmm, hopefully the cart will work before midnight tonight if that is the issue. Anyways, I'm glad you got one

Hey Honeybee, I tried that thing where you place 100 bottles in the cart & try to check out - it didn't say sold out then. But I did it *after* I placed my order, 'cause I'm clever like that. (I got a bottle of River Song instead, which I wanted just as much as this anyway). Maybe it really is sold out then? I'm never sure. The cart doesn't always behave for me. I hope you get a bottle - this is gorgeous! I just figure that if it hasn't sold out by tonight, I'll grab one in January, or start trolling the trade pages!

I didn't expect to like this one because of all the notes scared me a bit and I hate worms, but surprisingly I really did like this.
I don't know if I love it and I have not experimented with Leather enough to panic if this were going to sell out. I expected this to be very deep and resiny like the Violin one.. but this was very sweet and buttery! It was like an adult lollipop of some sort.

I felt like it was a forbidden brownie, one laced with pot. It was on the verge of being gourmand for me. Very sweet and sticky almost like taffy, but not.

I LOVE this description.. I don't get quite as much sweetness as you do.. but god that's a great description.. Leather is fun. Dom is great for workouts but Leather is better for me in a general setting. The EST takes the edge of and I don't worry about becoming Full Medal Bitch.

It has the scent of anise but its also got the coffee vibe going... It's truly a sleeper that I would not have guessed that would have won me over

Now I know what this reminds me of! I Don't Know But It's Green! This one is a bit darker devil like sluttier, whereas IDK is more angelic slut.

 

I can't believe this is gone. This was surprise for me, I totally tried this one last. Hope Mara feels inspired to do a rebrew once she's in Portland.. surrounded by all that wood and grass.

Oh poooo! Is this really gone already? I did what LV did... Left this one to last. For some reason I thought it would make me smell like samboucca. It soooo does not! It's very sexy, a touch of darkness when wet (?cocoa) but dries down beautifully to something which very much resembles Licorice Wand (the lush GGG one )

I really love it! Wish I'd gotten a bottle...

This was a weird scent on me.

Im not too familiar with some of these notes but it turned out to be very complex and ....it came off as dark mysterious woods n it makes me think about the green fairy when i wear it haha.

 

It was hardly sweet--but it was, (cocoa/coffee?) there was a definite green twang to it that grabs attention but the green quickly took back seat as the vanilla shoved its way to the front--making everything else compliment it n make it very rich and exotic to the point where it got a little loud flamboyant. After it wears on it mellowed back to a nice warm forest-at-night-with-fireflies (its a mellow green with out the edge from the beginning) I think this is a fairly interesting scent, it starts out all fierce to flamboyant then mellows out in the end with a fine dusting of what i think is cocoa and vanilla.

 

I cant say much for Leather, i test ran it in public but everyone was still combat shopping. It wasnt a very good day for testing it seems

Hm, this is one that I was really expecting to love, but when I got my sampler set I think the whole thing was suffering from severe travel shock. Every time I sniffed this in the vial I got a sickly sweet oversugared thing--and then it sold out, so I thought, ah, well, and forgot about it.

 

I dug it out today because I wanted to test the Leather phero--I'm relieved to say I'm not head over heels in love with this, but now I get something that corresponds much more to the description. To the extent that there's sweetness, it's taken several giant steps back and is just a haunting little flourish, not a hammer to the face. For me, this has a really intense, tingly energy to it. It's definitely got that absinthe thing going on: a bit medicinal, a bit resin-y, odd and quite compelling. It feels like a cousin to Unseelie, which I love.

 

As far the Leather goes, I got an initial surge of "whoa, check me OUT" and thought, OK, time to get shit done! but it dissipated quickly and now I am feeling exhausted and wonky. But I'm pretty sure that is the semester's end and retail hellcrunch, not the Leather, so perhaps I just need to take a phero break until after the holidays are mercifully concluded. Certainly it's one I'll want to experiment with again.

 

If this were still available, I'd probably get a bottle, since I can definitely picture it for a very specific mood/mindset. It's not a total love affair, though, so no need to stalk the trade threads, weeping -- I think I can console myself with Unseelie in the meantime.... :-)

It's really more of a nighttime scent for me but I wanted to start the Alphabet month with this.

Stacy, I completely agree. All I have is a trial vial, so I haven't used it much because I love it so. But Amalthea's Alphabetical August poked me into putting it on this morning. And I think I can say that Leather is my favorite phero. I'm not sure I would have figured that out on my own. I only have one other scent boosted with Leather. But there will definitely be more. I felt so confident, so sure of myself and my place in the world. I want to feel like that more often.

As far as the scent, it is just to die for. I love the anise, which is the note that comes through the most for me.

IKR. I have the Un oil and Absinth. So I had tested it out a few times. I last bought a spray bottle of Carmel Musk boosted with Leather and I love it. The spray form is great and the selifies are wonderful. I have the same feeling with it. I was so afraid that it might make me bitchy but it doesn't go that direction. It's more confidence, determination, focus. It's great.

I love the anise note the most as well…. It has such a calming effect on me and the Leather allows me to continue to reign in some of my supervisors.

The above quote is so sad because this has aged so well. It is smooth and mysterious. Wet, it was hard to pick any one thing out and was just something deliciously sweet. Now the Anise is starting to come to the front but it is still smooth and luscious behind it. I didn't realize it had leather in it because all I have is a small sample vial. I added UN Balm Bomb so...yeah. But the scent is very huffable.

I’ve had this trial of Absinthe of Malice forever, so many notes that don’t wear well on me! Leather and Oud notes don’t generally work for me, although I love anise, but it’s not the mail thing I’m smelling here. Granted, this trial is over 8 years old, I think the cocoa, wormwood, and red musk are kinda sweet and powdery, but not dry. It’s rather lush. I might keep an eye on the trade boards for this one, although I am still afraid of the Leather phero. But there’s always a time and place for every Phero!
