  1. I'm going clubbing in Hollywood while I'm at home, but here's me having forgotten to bring any of the pheremone stuff with me to experiment with. Boooo. *grumpy face* I should ask to swing by the storefront to pick something up. *g*
  2. I had to go visit an acquaintance-friend and she has a tendency to just go on and on about herself (it was an obligatory visit). I applied a little cautiously, since I got a raging headache the first time I tried it, but then I slathered making sure I wasn't getting any of the raw fumes while the perfume was still wet. I figured even if the blend didn't work, I still love the scent. Anyway, I'd like to say the Popularity Potion worked, but alas, I really did not detect any change. Heh, during my visit, I amused myself by persisting in talking about myself instead of letting her go on her one-woman talk show. It was really very entertaining watching her trying (and failing miserably) to contain her look her boredom. YES THE SHOE IS ON THE OTHER FOOT NOW. *g* She got rid of me fairly quickly after that. I really, really, really love this scent, but I think it's the pheremone that leaves something that doesn't agree with me. I'd love to get this un-pheremoned. (Shocking and weird, I know.) Smells that good, though. =)
  3. Or just use lotion beforehand/be sure to be moisturized and not dry. Makes sense that the oils will sink in otherwise.
  4. I'm waiting it out for a bit longer; I got an email saying my stuff shipped, but no package yet, and it's been a while. Oh, I see--I just got my Stamps shipping confirmation. I guess the email I got was like the pre-pre-shipping confirmation. *g* I was worried my package was circulating and lost in the system.
  5. sultry brunette, that happened to me, too, with Fairest. I could even smell it directly in the oil; but I think aging has taken care of that. Why not keep it around a couple weeks at least? And thanks for that clarification, luna65. I really, really, really fell in love with the original so I'll be bracing myself for the arrival of the new version now. =) (I loved those flowers and fruit combination, specifically.)
  6. It's interesting to see how people explain the functions and interpret what each individual pheremone contribute to the overall feel of the blend, and I was hoping someone would do the same for Super Sexy. (Or direct me to it?) There are some that look pretty new to me. (Sodium sulfate is a pheremone?) Pheremones: estratetraenol, alpha- androstenol, dehydroepiandrosterone, sodium sulfate, tetrahydrodeoxy- corticosterone, androstanone.
  7. I loved the sweet delicate floral aspect of the original; how is it here? Just sent off for a sample and hoarding my remaining original LP Pink vial. =)
  8. Thanks for the insight, Danna! I adore jasmine tea, and for many years I've been in search of the perfect jasmine tea scent, only to be disappointed time and time again because the perfume was not evocative of the delicate infused tea I love but--here is tea. Also, here is the flower jasmine. I just wanted to verify so I wouldn't get my hopes up, but you completely blew me out of my seat. =D Now I'm dying to try this, especially since this was already my favorite release with its wonderful whimsy. I'm also tempted to beg that you incorporate that jasmine tea blend into its own major release! <3
  9. Hmm, so it's not exactly jasmine tea but jasmine *and* tea? *sadface*
  10. This started out extremely like Pink Sugar, with that sweet citrus tang, but it dries down very floral. Sweet, soft, with a touch of green at the edges.
  11. I have a 1999 article on the research on sex pheremones that's pretty comprehensive of the field. A lot of stuff I've seen referenced in pheremone forums are in this article. (Written by the guys who did the t-shirt study.) This is a followup plus goes into other sources if you want to look them up further. I thought it might be a little tricky to get if you don't have access to academic archives, so I'm offering via email to anyone who wants. This version of the tshirt study is that they claim a specific pheremone that signals symmetrical features--not just general attractiveness. This study as well as others I've read suggests that women on oral contraceptives won't respond to pheremones in general, which perceived and reacted on by hormonal changes. (I claim personal agreement to this.) (And it's kind of obvious I need to write some papers, isn't it?) The Scent of Symmetry A Human Sex Pheromone that Signals Fitness? Evolution and Human Behavior , Volume 20 , Issue 3 , Pages 175 - 201R . Thornhill A previous study by the authors showed that the body scent of men who have greater body bilateral symmetry is rated as more attractive by normally ovulating (non-pill-using) women during the period of highest fertility based on day within the menstrual cycle. Women in low-fertility phases of the cycle and women using hormone-based contraceptives do not show this pattern. The current study replicated these findings with a larger sample and statistically controlled for men's hygiene and other factors that were not controlled in the first study. The current study also examined women's scent attractiveness to men and found no evidence that men prefer the scent of symmetric women. We propose that the scent of symmetry is an honest signal of phenotypic and genetic quality in the human male, and chemical candidates are discussed. In both sexes, facial attractiveness (as judged from photos) appears to predict body scent attractiveness to the opposite sex. Women's preference for the scent associated with men's facial attractiveness is greatest when their fertility is highest across the menstrual cycle. The results overall suggest that women have an evolved preference for sires with good genes.
  12. I've been mulling the scent over and I'm wondering there's something like sugar plum or other Christmas-y fruit in there that's in common with the Xmas scents like Want or Stealing Christmas. Feels like there's some kind of holiday spice hidden inside? It gives off that impression to me.
  13. I got a bottle of Super Sexy in the mail today and tried it on to see what it smells like. I have to say--I realized that this was the first time in my life that I smelled so DIRTY, lol. I don't really sweat, and when I do, it usually doesn't have that "sweat" smell. I have low body odor in general, so smelling my skin in such a new way was kind of a revelation because I was thinking: synthetic animal/human based pheremones, wow, so foreign. Anyway, it was interesting to smell and not strong at all--I leaned in to sniff--and only a slight chemical smell remained after drydown, which was easily covered up by Sultry Afternoon, which smells mhmm, really pleasant.
  14. I'm scared to try this on because I am *definitely* not one with the scent of cumin.... Maybe I'll let it sit for a few months until I get up the guts.
  15. I have this on my wrist and this sucker LASTS. It goes on foody--a spicy, rich gingerbread underlaying everything, before the bright and sparkling fruits also take the stage. It's a bright fruity blend that's foody at the core, with a wisp of the incense contributing to the overall holiday spice atmosphere of the scent. I don't like spices or foody scents, so this isn't for me. It reminds me of a nice Xmas party, or the kind of room scent I'd want to put out to enliven the holiday spirit some.
  16. I get full on hard candy pink/red with this one! A candy cherry/berry that's a lot of top note. But weirdly, there's this more adult base note that I catch, maybe a musk? A resin? It's darker than the top notes and noticeable. I'm going to wait on this to age a bit longer, maybe a few months, before I make any final decisions on what its true qualities are.
  17. LOL, I KNEW this was one of the blends no one was reviewing so they could keep it to themselves.
  18. LOL. What did you husband have to say for all this?
  19. Sogni Incantati A spell for summoning enchanted dreams, crafted of Marshmallow, soothing Vanilla and a hint of Anisette! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magickal Meanings of Ingredients: MARSHMALLOW ~ Psychic awareness, protection, creation. VANILLA ~ Aphrodisiac, inspires happiness, playfulness, nurturing, soothing. ANISETTE ~ Wards away nightmares, protective, happiness, youthfulness, psychic powers, calming, soothing, meditation. SUGAR ~ Wishes granted, magical fairy lure, attracts love, luck, sweetness, riches. BENZOIN ~ Astral projection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I thought that anisette would smell like licorice--but not at all! This scent smells like something you should drink. A rich, a little alcoholic vanilla ice cream, with little flecks of vanilla bean dotting it. Delicious.

    Sugared Magi

It's really festive, I agree. The fruit comes out a bit more than the frankincense and myrrh, which I appreciate. I don't think I'd wear it on my skin, but a good room scent.
  21. Is this...red musk and coffee? I feel like there are some crossover notes from Nasty Habits and maybe Dark/Honeyed Seductions, but the coffee is the only note I can smell for sure. It's the most prominent, like sugared coffee musk with some kind of floral overlaying it. I...am going to come back to this. I think something's interfering with the scent. (Must be, right?)
  22. I reaaaaaaally want to be able to wear it! I did a small patch test and was in love--and then put enough on that I could smell it without pressing my wrist to my nose and I think there's something in the Popularity Potion that doesn't agree with me. Instant headache. I'm going to put it away and see if I can do it a few weeks from now. I do hope you love it, because it's a great scent. I love how light and personal this smells--like the scent of sweet skin, not perfume.
  23. This smells lovely, and goes on like a lightly fruity pina colada with a hint of a flower and dries down like a fresh egyptian musk on me, or DSH's Special Formula X if you know it.
  24. Haha, for sure. I'd been looking forward to getting this package for a looooong time. And Danna--thanks so much for remembering to include the extra rollerbottle/sample for my LP Red. I was guesstimating how much I'd lost when I emailed you guys, but when I peeled back the label, I found I'd lost almost HALF the bottle. Immediate intervention was needed!
  25. My nose has just about given up at the moment, but when I first sniffed Warrior's Heart, I was like, "Yeah, yeah, it's sweet...and--oh." Because after you get past the unassuming fruity sweetness, I realized there was a very sturdy frame or core to this perfume that combines with the top notes. I pulled away and that's when I realized--oh, there's the wood, very subtle, perhaps oak? (Not familiar with scent of woods.)
