Wow! That's hard to imagine...I've had tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard watching it. That, Young Frankenstein, Python and a few Panther movies..they will always be classic humor I go back to

'Course we did... "Don't touch it....NO! Don't even *look* at it!!"

Why Oh Why did I put this on today?! I know, I know...curiosity does it to me time and time again...I wanted to know what the difference was between this and Messalina's Passion Potion was. Why I could wear one and not the other despite them both being chock full of ingredients? Ok, I still am not sure why but doggone it Eleven is for me a winner. A bottle worthy winner. I'm still wondering what the *critical difference* is, or if maybe perhaps just possibly I'm crazy.
  4. I haven't even received my last order and I'm thinking about it too...

    Mummy Stuffing

Did anyone else's heart just skip a beat there? ...and edited to add, yes I too have heard that if you start with a base of lotion (either complimentary scented or unscented) it can help a fragrance last longer.
  6. Just had to let y'all know I had to order a bottle of the Phero Boy for my ex b.f. - we're still pretty good friends... He *never* wore fragrance before I turned him onto natural single-note oils like amber or sandalwood. This is a HUGE step for him! I flipped him the sample vial a few weeks ago with no great expectations, but he totally surprised me by asking for me to buy him some more! He said it really gew on him. Way to go LPMP!!

    Aztec Moon

I wore this again today, with a bit less fog in my head now... "Evocative of those hot, sensuously steamy south of the border nights, where romance is heavy in the air. Intoxicating scent of Sangria and Mexican spices over Tobacco Flowers, Xocoatl, and rich dark resins. A heady indulgence of exotic Aphrodisia." Fresh on the skin, this one is foremost a wine and floral-fruity fragrance...given time to mellow the wine note settles down, and the cocoa and spices and tobacco flower come out to play...resins underly the whole. It's a scrumptious scent, but my skin seems to dissolve it too quickly I've applied it to my pulse and hairline areas...maybe I have overkilled and I no longer smell it...that happens sometimes. I do like this for a not-too-foody, but definitely tasty multilayered scent!
  8. ok, now my post just looks silly - originally the "New Release December" post was under Announcements, not the usual New Releases page. Might have been a tired bunny's error...Anyway - they look really tempting!
  9. Ruh roh...dangit Sinister One! My finances needed a breather!!

I do agree this is very different on the skin than it is smelled from the vial. When I sniff the vial, I am almost overwhelmed with what feels like a crowd of voices all trying to be heard at once. However, worn on the skin I get floral top notes along with a citrusy zing which dies down quickly. Then the "spice" and resins kick in and predominate...we shall see if it changes over the next few hours. I wonder if other wearers get other predominant notes?
  12. Doggone your nice review, it sounds like that would have been BEYOUUUUTIFUL...I'm currently loving the chocolate and roses in Cocoa Sauvignon: http://www.lovepotionperfume.com/perfume-CocoaSauv.html
  13. Wow...this *is* fascinating stuff! Who knew such powerful tools were out there? I too, work in a male dominated field...the guys are *mostly* not aggro/alpha but they are not exactly in touch with their feminine sides either. They don't usually invite me to lunch, let alone share gossip, like they did today. I'm really leaning towards picking the phero boy up now. Potion Master - wow, that Feb release sounds like a great idea! I think of sakura (with it's traditional Japanese cultural references etc.) as being a very "soft" flower/note. Whatever you back it with should have some "kick" to it, maybe? You know iron fist in the velvet glove... With it being a Valentine's release, notes of chocolate with chile? Sweet with a kick.
  14. Well Carrie, I was afraid to try this one until I read your review yesterday...then? I couldn't resist! I have to agree, I like the clean scent...and enjoy feeling a bit more "up" myself as well. Wearing it today...I went out to lunch with "the guys". This is something I don't often do because well, I work with them all day and usually have had ENOUGH by the end of the week. However, we had a *great* time today (lots of laughing and joking)...no one seemed particularly uncomfortable around me, so I guess whatever affect the male pheromones have is not a negative one. Cool. Except now do I need to put another bottle on order?!
  15. Sampling this one today, and enjoying it very much...getting alternate wafts of spice, wine, and (it's wierd) almost something "nutty"...what could that be, just wierd skin chemistry? It has an 'elegant' feel to it, for me.
  16. A question occurred to me after I posted: Do you think that with repetition, one becomes less powerfully affected by the potion? Will it still be "noticed" the fifth or fifty-first time it's worn as it was on the first? Or, does one's nose (or one's partners' nose) become "accustomed" to it, and the pheromone associated with the wearer? Part of me thinks that the mere association of the scent with a lovely experience would be part of the power...but I know nothing of how pheromones are perceived and how they 'work' on us.
  17. I guess I'll step up and comment...really, I can't NOT comment...but not sure where to start. I've never used any aphrodisiacs per se, nor have I tried pheromones before so I can't compare to either experience...but I CAN attest to it's seeming potency...um, yeah. I sampled the Phero Girl scent last night before visiting my sweetie (a drop on each wrist, and a bit at the base of my neck). As far as liking the *scent*, that was easy. It's a lovely honeyed thing, but not over-sweet, which blooms when warmed on the skin. I kept getting small sniffs of it as I moved around. Had dinner, and then we sat down to veg in front of the TV. Well, that never happened. Shortly after snuggling up to him, he became a bit distracted...and asked me if I was *really* into the movie we were watching...(errr, not if you have BETTER plans, no!!) More I blush to say, but it seems to have affected ME as much as it did him - all in a good way! Mara? You might have to put a warning on this stuff - "Do Not Use Unless You Are Serious About Your Intentions!" I wouldn't want to have worn this to work...nor in the company of someone I wasn't very much interested in distracting. I'd asked my sweetie what had come over him, he said in a puzzled tone, "I dunno...you were warm, and you smelled so good"... I don't usually get that reaction from him. He's rather sensitive, fragrance wise, and I tone things down around him rather than irritate. It's good to know this one's a keeper for BOTH of us. I drove home later that night...still smelling this incredible scent hovering over me...it reminded me of nibbling honeysuckle flowers...a very subtle honey-floral. It's the kind of scent you can envelop yourself in, but not be overwhelmed by. I can still smell it today (in my mind, since I haven't re-applied), and it's a warm happy thought. Signed, A Firm Believer In Re-Testing But Almost Afraid To Let Him Try the Phero-Boy
  18. Classic and refined, while very modern, clean and fresh. The smooth combination of Citrus and Musk in Love Potion #9® may be worn equally by both Women and Men - transcending gender, transcending time. It is both mature and ageless - and will make you feel like pure magic! Legendary Hall of Famers, songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller made history in 1960 when they coined the phrase "Love Potion #9" and topped the charts with their song recorded by the Searchers, which remains a classic staple of both music and modern lingo to this day. The fellows long dreamed of one day creating a perfume by the same name and approached noted perfumer Mara Fox in the mid 1990's to create it with them. The pair were instrumental in selecting the ingredients that are classic and refined, while very modern, clean and fresh! CITRUS ~ Energizing, uplifting, longevity, faithfulness, fidelity, friendship, mental acuity. MUSK ~ Self confidence and strength, sexual attractant, heightens passions and arousal. _________________________________________________________ I checked thru the older pages looking for someone else's notes...but didn't find it....hrm. Well, I got a sample of this with my last order, and I must say I really, really like it. It's a much more sophisticated scent than I was expecting, lovely both fresh and hours later, when the citrus has calmed down and the musk notes have warmed up. It reminds me of a (very expensive) scent I've been longing to purchase for some time which has citrus over an incense note...it's a gorgeous one to wear in the heat (of which there is still a LOT of out here in the West). I can see enjoying this one in the summertime, too. I'm not sure if I'm in an "absorbing fragrance" phase of the month, but this one seemed somewhat fleeting on me today, not that I minded re-applying! I'll keep it around for another trial in a few weeks. Body chemistry is wierd, sometimes!
  19. How nice of Grant! Did he just 'spring' it on you? It is good exposure there, for sure...

    Sugared Forest

"A beautifully balanced bevy of woody notes, including Vetiver, White Pine, Cedar, Sandalwood, Oak Moss, and petrified tree sap (aka Amber) softened by the sweetness of powdery sugar. An enchanting forest, indeed! Smells lovely on both women and men." I wore this one solo for today, to get a better feel of the notes...I think this would be a great one to layer with some more "austere" green/chyphre type scents...warm them up a bit. In the bottle I get a big hit of pine...and sugar... On the skin wet I get fresher greens, it's more "leafy" and I finally start to smell the Amber... On the skin hours later the cedar is more prominent, with a hint of the pine trees in the background, still warm amber pokes it's head through. Easily worn by this female, but I'd like to try it on my (male) sweetie some time. I think this'd be killer on him too...
  21. Fingers crossed for ya Jess...It's a scent worth owning! I'll hold off on passing on this link to the guy I work with who *HAD* to know what I was wearing..so he could get it for his wife! (Just got notice my own bottle is in the mail - yay! )
  22. I received this one as a special *extra* in my last order...and I had NO idea it might be my favorite so far...! Notes: White Vanilla, White Amber, White Sugar, White Tea, White Jasmine Blossoms, Light Patchouli, and more. Created by: Mara Fox A Limited Edition Love Potion® Variety ~ Elegant perhaps, but cuddly too! In the bottle: I smell white florals...which, for me is a bit scary. Most white florals I don't take to very well. There is a sweetness here too, but not in the way Tuberose is sweet in (to my taste) a cloying way. It's a ligthtly frosted sweetness...like *just* the right touch of sugar on your cereal... On the skin: Ok, it's summer here, deadly hot...fairly humid now that it's still monsoon season...very few fragrances are easily worn and enjoyed after the heat kicks in at 8am. I put this one one at 9am, walked a good way before getting into the air conditioning...so this one had plenty of time to bloom on me. And it did. It has become a *lovely* clean, sweet, yet sexy floral...almost soap or powdery clean scent. Funny coincidence - I had recently gone to the local Sephora, to sample Clean's set of fragrances. I *really* wanted to like one...I felt like one of those scents would be perfect for summer here, but none of them "grabbed" me. THIS is the kind of scent I was hoping for. Does it *work* as a Love Potion, you ask? Oh my... I went to visit my sweetie, who is not known to give compliments...either for the way I dress, nor for the way I smell... *immediately* smiled at me with an almost shy grin and told me, (hamming it up with a Southern accent) "You smell purty"... I what?! Knock me over with a feather here... Not only that, but he made it plain he intends to come over for a visit tonight. (!) Another male friend remarked on it as well - noticing it was *new* for me, and it was very nice. This stuff must work with my body chemistry alright! I feel very happy in it...very uplifted even. Confidence booster, male attractant..hrm, could I have found all that?! Yes, it's in my next order! Go, ladies...sample this!
  23. Indeed it was, SG! I surfed *there* from DavidLebovitz.com, whose blog is often mentioned in SmittenKitchen's blog, and well, you get the idea! I've got so many recipes printed out and waiting for me to try them, not sure I'll ever get thru them!
  24. Greetings all - New to the website, new to the forum...but a long time fragrance and perfume fan... I've just ordered a few samples, and if the powers that be can fix my goofed up order, I shall soon be sniffing: Sugared Lilac - am a *huge* lilac fan, used to live in Rochester NY home of the Lilac Festival! Betrothal Potion - no comment The Sandman Snoozeth™ - I sleep *terribly* most nights... Musky Dusky™ Fresh Cut Greens - a fan of green scents and something else I've forgotten! Edited to add - found my way here via a "Food Blog"...another pastime of mine.. See you around the boards!
