  1. I’m on a saffron kick again after smelling MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540 and I remembered I had this as a half bottle somewhere in my collection.  Totally different, like BR and the heaviest vanilla amber fragrance had a baby.  It initially comes off powdery (probably from aged amber) but then morphs into a deep spicy silky blanket and is absolutely still exotic and unisex.  Sticks close to the skin.  @Potion Masterlet me know when you are doing private editions again because this has aged so beautifully that I need more… maybe two varieties—a summer and a winter version.  I’m loving diving into a bunch of these oils I bought 5 years ago…some are magical, some (with cops) have gone off due to my poor storage attempts.  But these are like newfound treasures to me.

  2. I pulled this out last month as I’m trying to use up half bottles and it did really age well.  The ylang is more sophisticated and sexy and the myrhh is still going strong.  I didn’t think I’d like ylang as I have it in a deodorant and it never sits well on me…but aged.  Wow.

  3. This was my only FB purchase and I could have bought 10.  Just came today so I know there is travel shock, but my first impressions are citrus  plus woody and masculine on initial blast but the citrus went away after about 10 minutes.  Then it morphs to wood and after 15 minutes, I have this sexy non sweet amber that is still woody and a little Smokey, but I think the honey and sweetness will pop out shortly.  I wish it was a tad more sweeter, but I can layer a sweeter note if needed.  Nailed the unisex amber perfectly.

  4. I am so happy to have another bottle of LP Gold.  I have a much less trained nose than most, so this smells so much like my beloved 2013 bottle that I am swooning.  I do pick up a juicier grapefruit, but neither 2013 nor this version was a sour grapefruit.   It’s just the sparkling top note that pretty quickly dries down to just a sprinkle of bright over lovely cocoa butter and the buttery LP base.  God I love this so much.  I wish I could buy a case.  This scent is why I fell head over heels collecting LP.

  5. I have put odalisque 2017 on my right hand (fresh bottle, unopened) and 2021 on my left at the :20 mark.  Totally different scents.  I love the richness of 2017, deep amber, cocoa butter forward.  2021 could be its light and airy cousin.  Much more sandalwood forward, mid range cocoa butter, much less sweet.  I am sure this new version is day appropriate while the 2017 was the nighttime snack.  I do prefer the 2017 version, but the 2021 is very nice, soft and not a lot of throw.   Again, I could absolutely wear 2021 to work, while 2017 was too sweet, too gourmand to be taken seriously in a work environment.  I am so happy I have both.

  6. I tore into this today when the package arrived.  It seems very different than original after first 20 minutes.  Initially I get the blast of cocoa butter (my fave)and then the bright orange blossom (which I didn’t see would work, but it does)  but after a bit it settles into a perfectly blended melange of scents.  The almond scared me because that always goes cherry on me but it hasn’t happened yet after close to a half hour.  It does give it a lotion quality, however.

This is sexy AF but seemingly a bit light at the moment.  So really, so many other scents...save the rest for me so I can buy all the FBs and slather all winter long.

  7. Love, love, love this.  I didn’t order this in FB but after smelling my sample, I made an emergency order.  It’s spicy, it’s got some creaminess from the oats.  But the Elderberry and Alcohol (one or the other) gives it this punch of brightness.  Wowzer.  I freakin’ love this.  The fact that the magical meanings are exactly what I need right now (good luck for a new job opp)...that’s just a bonus.  This doesn’t smell like a perfume...it smells like you are inside the best smelling kitchen or candle and you just radiate the smell.  It’s awesome.

  8. Agree with Wanderlust.  I also get a smoky quality in Bare Trap and that’s after about 10 minutes.  I got package and immediately slathered Bare Trap on right arm, Odalisque on left wrist and Black Aggie on top of arm.  Black Aggie is very cider-y to me and it is amazing smelling.  Perhaps my favorite of the bunch because it has a punch of something bright.  Unintentional rhyme there.  Immediately went on website, bought the FB of Black Aggie and now I can stop having anxiety about not being able to get a FB of that!

  9. This has been my fave this month...I’m a honey ho for sure but I haven’t found one this good since the spring honey one from a few years ago.  DIfferent smell, same vibe.  Awesome job, Mara.

  10. I am on the fence about this.  I absolutely love this dried down after a few hours.  I mean, top 5 love.  And the grapefruit blast at the top and start is great, refreshing, sharp and quickly blends.  So scent wise, incredible.  My big problem with this and with many scents lately is zero throw after 15 minutes.  I can still smell my lotion an hour after I apply in a bit of a waft but this, you have to get right up to my application points after about 30 minutes.  I can smell up to about 4 inches up from application points. Not much difference in the spray I made although I do have more coverage.  It’s not because it is an indie perfume.  I do fine with the other indie perfumes.  I think I need a stronger concentration.;  Any ideas, folks?

  11. I didn’t wait for this to rest, so I am hoping this changes.  Soap.  I only am getting almond soap—no glorious ylang or orange or tangerine or honey.  I think I am going to shake this well and give it a few days.  Don’t freak at the first notes—its a blast of almond.  But it is drying down to soap at the moment.

  12. So this is the one I thought I would go nuts over.  I’m am an amber ho all the way.  Yet, this is way more incense smelling than a buttery amber.  I like the fig as it adds the sweetness needed and the cassis just peeks out.  It’s coming off as a fall scent so I am going to put it away and hope the incense backs down on me.  I loved the amber in Ann’s black amber, so I am not sure why this is so masculine and resiny on me.

  13. I wasn’t supposed to love this.  I didn’t do well with Seaside Sizzle and the one prior that had tuberose and cocoa butter.  Both smelled like toasted cocoa butter on me (the other one had a hot guy on the label).  Either way, the coconut (smells like coconut water to me) and the cactus are GAME CHANGERS.  I can’t wait to order another backup bottle.  This is like a tame floral soap with green and coconut and boom..there is my favorite cocoa butter.
