  1. I think with phero choice a lot of the question is what are you hoping to get out of it? In any situation, what are you looking for in regards to your partner (or others)? You might choose a phero like Perfect Match, if you want something for bonding between the two of you. Or Open Windows if you want to add a little light hearted fun to date night. I just looked and as of now, the Girl/Girl phero hedgehog mentioned is still available on the website. I think Queen Bee is supposed to be the newer replacement for when it runs out, but I'm not sure if QB was developed with an eye for attraction.

For more sexual pheros, I also want to say don't overlook the sexual blends that may seem like they're geared toward attracting men. My personal chemistry (or personality or aura or whatever the cause) means I can get away with using Sexpionage as a social (I definitely don't recommend this for everyone), and both men and women get happy and giggly around me when I wear it, so I know it is affecting the women, too. And there's also the importance of self-effects! Everybody seems to have a different fave for this, so I really recommend getting some of the trials and seeing what works best for you and your partner. And, of course, I'd suggest trying cops. The recent OCCO releases would be a great place to start with those.

  2. For me, Mayhem isn't aged books so much as it's aged cabinetry. Though I guess they are both wood based, lol. I think the difference in how I'm reading that is the depth of the notes. I think it pairs well with the orange, which is of a more subtle variety. It's not a bright, splashy orange, but a more muted one. It reminds me more of the rind of an orange, or an orange oil, than the juice or flesh of an orange. On my skin, this is sitting solidly on the masculine side of unisex. I'd really like it on a guy. And I think it fits well enough into the cologne category that even a guy who is not adventurous would feel comfortable wearing this, while still being good for someone who doesn't want to smell like everyone else.

  3. This one surprised me. It wasn't what I expected from the notes. It's very airy, sheer, and fresh. I don't really get much citrus. Mostly airy/watery. What it reminds me of most is fruit flavored water. Not the sparkling kind, but when people put a few actual slices of fruit in water. A few orange slices, in this case. After about 15 minutes, the grapefruit kicks in more and it gets a bit more perfumey with some more layered notes, as well.  Then, as it eventually begins to wear off, some sweetness creeps in, as well.

  4. Maple and patch tend to amp like crazy on me, overwhelming everything else, creating a fog that can be smelled a mile away. Ok, that last bit might be an exaggeration, but that's how it feels. So, scents with those notes usually don't work on me. I keep trying, though, because I've found with Mara's perfumes, inexplicably, something will occasionally go against the odds and be ok. LP: Black Pearl is one of those times. I don't know if it's the phero or something else keeping them in check, but whatever it is is working. Now, I can still smell them, but it's not like getting hit in the face with one of those giant red kickballs from PE class that those notes usually are. Which is to say, I bought two bottles. :D

It's a touch sweet and the patch is kind of scratchy and resiny in a dry sort of way. Slightly powdery in a smooth, papery, patchy way. While also being maple syrup in a sexy way. (I feel like I'm failing in this description because I really do like it!) I get a sort of impression of the smoothness of sandalwood, even though that's not in the notes. After a couple of hours, the maple scales back, and the lp base comes further forward. The maple then stays in the back and you can just get a whiff of it, even 5 or 6 hours later.

The patch is there, and it's an incensey type of patch. It's not as dark and smoky as some, though, and not as scratchy as others. Ever since I found LPMP, I've been sad, since I can't wear regular LP: Black because it turns straight super sweet patch on me. So, I was very happy to find this version. I don't know why it works, but it does!

Welll, rats. I made it 2 weeks ago, and phero'd all of it. I would not be opposed to making more in future in Virgin tho, I love this variant myself. Sorry I did not this time, I am not able to go back and make more this time around,

I'd be down to buy some virgin pink lace if it gets made at some point in the future.

For now, super excited about the Occos, especially Orange droolious and Honeyed Oud!

  6. You know how sometimes a kid is the spitting image of one of their parents? When they're together, you can see the influence of the other parent, but really, they got one parent's whole face. I feel like Kaytlin's Garden got Blue Rose's whole face.

This reminds me a lot of Blue Rose (see above), but more complex (the contributions of the other parent in this situation. I don't know, my metaphor is breaking down.) It's more berry as fruit than just blue, and the rose is less specifically rose, more generally floral rose. I guess that's the gardenia mixing with it. On me, it stays pretty similar throughout wear.

  7. Flamingo Pink is very coconut, in the way coconut can sometimes smell a bit like cocoa butter. What I mean by that is not a super sweet coconut, and not a sunscreen-y coconut, but a lotion-y type of coconut. The pink isn't overt, but more slight. So not in a way where your first thought is, "Pink!", but more of a pink tint.

This is a soft fragrance. Even when first applied, it reminds me more of a lotion. A relaxed scent, good for cuddling up. It's good for hot weather, when you don't want something overwhelming. It's sort of clean in a way that's like scents leftover from bath products after showering without adding extra perfume on top. It smells good in an "Oh, that's just my shampoo!" way. After 20 or 30 minutes, the musk starts to come out in a way that makes it seem even more like a skin scent. After an hour, it's mostly musk, with the sandalwood not reading as such, but lending a softness to it.

  8. With the new version out, thought I would look back and review this one. What I mostly get are blueberry and oak moss. The blueberry is a sweet, almost candied berry. The oak moss is there, but doesn't ever get too powdery. It adds a fuzzy feeling. The musk is in the background giving it some depth. There's also an undercurrent of masculinity. Not enough to make it unisex, just enoughh to give it some dimension and a little twist. Overall, I get sweet, clean fuzziness with an edge. The label is a perfect representation because it's something cute that lures you in, but has a hidden danger lurking underneath. Eventually, as it fades, it settles down into a really soft skin scent.

@greenappletart I'm curious what you think of this? I just ordered a bottle and I'm super excited. This is the one PE I regretted not getting and I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I've only given it one short test. I didn't get to see how it morphs over a full day. I'll try to wear it again soon for a real review, but I'll tell you what my notes say so far.

The honey is the heart of this fragrance. It's a somewhat powdery honey, but not too powdery. Warm. It transports me to a slightly dusty, sun warmed room. A quiet nook where you can take a book and read in peace while basking in the heat of an unseasonably warm day, like a cat in a sunbeam.

  10. On me, this isn't as bright and sweet as orange droolious, which really did have that dessert like orange smoothie scent. Exactly how I remember orange Julius smelling. This is softer and creamier. If orange droolious is outdoor summer sunshine, this is a springtime, maybe still need a cardigan, version.

The key word for me in this is creamy. It's orange and creamy vanilla. The vanilla is so creamy, it's buttery. It's giving it a soft, creamy edge. It reminds me of those old creme savers candies. They were hard, round candies like peppermints, but with swirls of orange and cream instead.

  11. Going on, the blackberry is sweet and tart. It reminds me of those fruit gushers candies, with a burst of bright fruit. The smoky incense vibe helps to ground it, giving it complexity,  heft, and a tactileness. And, of course, smoothness from the sandalwood. I'm glad it's not patchouli,  but other incense scents. The dragon's blood matches well and the berry notes in turn bring out its fruitiness. It's really intriguing. The fruit is foremost for the first few hours, then fades as the deeper incense notes hang on. I don't pick up on the woods per se, but I think that's what lending it its smokiness.

    Passion & Envy!

I usually do not like rose in fragrances since it tends to dominate the other notes, or perhaps my nose just picks up the scent and focuses on it, but it blends really well in this one. The cream rounds out the fruits and gives it good depth.

This is a very bright and comforting fruity fragrance that, in my experience, has made people feel happy, nostalgic, and sentimental. It has the effects of Levitation or Topper just by itself! The ingredients may no longer be available but if it comes back, I am interested in getting a couple of spray bottles: one with Levitation/Topper and one without just to see if it makes a difference.

Seconding this. Passion and Envy is so great!

It's not candy sweet. It's got sandalwood and powdered sugar, so it's more a hazy powdery sweet.  Think closer to Sensual Harmony, but with coconut cream.

That sounds good. I'd like to reserve

    1 fb of Moonglow

1 fb Creme a l'Orange (if this is sold out, please sub Bonnieshanks)

I'm thinking of getting one with:

    Fig

    Cucumber

    Sandalwood

I've also played around with the idea of something peach and pear, but I'm not sure what I'd fill it out with.

@dolphindolls2 I went with these. On the second, I had some parameters and vague ideas, but mostly asked for ripe peaches and pears, so I don't know what the other notes will be. I'm excited to find out! I'm definitely thinking about grabbing some of the other PEs, too,  when they become available.

  15. In reading my notes for this, I wrote "peachy floral" about 10 times. So, it's a peachy floral. Or, rather, a peach tinged floral. It isn't until a few hours in that the peach really sits equally strong with the floral.

Going on, I get the citrus, but that burns off pretty quickly. There's a lot of higher, floral notes. The peach emerged about 10 minutes in, but it sits on top of all the floral. More as an accent piece. The scent is a very pretty floral. Veering closer to a traditional perfume. Spring like and extremely feminine. Not sheer, but not heavy at all.

It lasted a long time, and remained a pretty, feminine, peachy floral throughout.

  16. Buddy Beaux goes on stronger than Bosom Bows, and is more outright masculine. But it's masculine in a way that works better for me, and is still easily wearable if you like unisex scents. The oak and vanilla are still there, but Buddy Beaux is richer and deeper, and like it has more bass. There's a bit of texture to it, some grit. There's not a huge difference in sweetness, but it is less sweet than Bosom Bows.

One of the big differences is the amber. Amber sometimes goes bad on me, and it's strong here, but doesn't ever cross that line. It's providing a lot of structure, though. I also get more of the spice. But it's overall really well balanced. It doesn't feel like any one note is overpowering the others. It's a smooth scent, and doesn't morph a whole lot.
