  1. I have been impatiently waiting for this one and today I got it! Oh man... I had an experience with the receptionist in my building today (actually 2 experiences) that were so over the top that nobody would believe me if I tried to tell the tale. (It was like I'd bathed in Tiger Juice) All due to the scent. She literally told me I smelled like sex (I LOVE when someone actually says something like that!) This scent is nothing like I expected and so much more than I expected all at the same time. This really isn't going to be a scent for everyone. It is however, a scent that fits me to a 'T'. The first thing that came out VERY strongly for me was the mahogany. I tend to amp anything even remotely sweet (which is why Mark's Tonka Tobacum comes across smelling almost like maple syrup on me for the first 20 minutes or so) and this is no exception. Mark's Girl Nip is very dark and very resinous and after a half hour or so I smelled like dark, almost burnt brown sugar. The sandalwood always seem to be present but after a while the musk and the chocolate absolute really come out. In case you couldn't tell, I really like this. It fits me. I was trying to figure out a good way to describe the differences between this scent and Mark's Tonka Tobacum because they both seem related (I can smell the sandalwood in both and it seems to tie them together at least in spirit) and decided the best way I could do it was through the use of allegory. This is the evil twin to Mark's Tonka Tobacum. Reminds me of the TV shows my mom used to watch when I was a kid. Imagine twin brothers. One brother was always really nice and honest. The other was just pure chaos. Mark's Tonka Tobacum is the nice, sexy in a rolled up flannel shirt and faded jeans scent. The guy who is sexy because he's a gentleman, he knows how to use power tools and his hands are rough (and he knows how to use them as well). He drinks domestic beer from the bottle because it isn't pretentious. Women find him sexy in part because he is sweet, polite and dependable. The guy who knows how to put a woman in a loving embrace and cook her breakfast the next morning. Mark's Girl Nip is like the mysterious stranger who rides into town on a Harley and plays pool at the local dive bar. He drinks Stranahan's because everybody drinks Jack. Women find him sexy because he's mysterious and potentially dangerous. The guy who knows how to make a woman feel wonderfully ravaged and might leave cab fair the next day. Get the idea? TOTALLY different but from the same family. I can smell the same woodiness in Girl Nip that I smell in Tonka Tobacum but they are entirely different scents. Both are dead sexy, however. Mara, once again you are a genius! Thanks for this entirely inappropriate scent!
  2. Ooh, can we get a full fledged review?
  3. Yeah, no kidding! I loved the scent of this one. A phero free variant? Pretty please with sugar on top?
  4. Ahhh yes. I have a 16 year old relative who has her share of frenemys. Even watching from the sidelines, I can't get over the brutality of their relationships at times.

    Lost Highway

    Sounds delicious!
  6. Glad I could help brighten your day! Speaking as someone who works in the metaphysical field himself, It really was meant as more of an ironic statement. I can see just how 'tuned in' some of the people here really are.
  7. Woohoo! I love the description for mine. Very similar to an actual occurance while wearing Tonka Tobacum!
  8. Okay, I haven't actually gotten to try this yet but Luna must be psychic. I had a very similar experience to her story actually happen while wearing Mark's Tonka Tobacum. Now I really can't wait for this one!
  9. I'll definitely have to revisit my choices after I get my new PE. I can't wait to smell it!
  10. Woohoo! I can't wait to see how mine turned out!
  11. Ah well. Purple Pitch, I hardly knew ye. My Purple Pitch found a new home today. A certain lady friend caught a sniff of it and commandeered it. Guess I'll have to get myself another bottle!
  12. Now you have really piqued my curiosity! I LOVE Fade To Black. That is on my short list of scents to get in a big bottle.
  13. I'm pretty sure that I'm what the PUA's would call a beta naturally. I'm normally pretty laid back so people misinterpret that as being weak. I definitely stand up for myself when need be but I think that is why I do better with the more masculine mixes. I don't give off that masculine vibe normally. Just a matter of chemistry and perception. I know to avoid those friendly, non-masculine mixes because I'm normally that way, apparently. *shrugs*
  14. I got my Purple Pitch and I have to say when I first smelled it in the bottle my reaction was, 'There is no way I'm putting that on me! Too GIRLY!' Then I reminded myself that any LP scent smells entirely differently in the bottle from on the skin (except maybe Creole Man). So I bravely rolled some on. PURPLE. After about 10 minutes it dried down and I could smell the resins coming through. I actually really like this. I do think a guy could wear this (the right kind of more adventurous guy. The kind of guy who likes Black Candy or Evil In Carnation. A guy like me). It isn't nearly as dark or resinous as I was hoping for (I feel the same way about NOX 2009) but it does smell really nice. I can say that it won't replace Black Candy for me but I really amp the Anise in that and women seem to dig it (not to mention that I really like the scent). I will definitely be wearing this one, however. I may have to talk to Mara and ask if she can make something dark and resinous along the lines of Sorcerer in a PE but without the pheros. Or maybe a darker version of NOX. I love that one but it isn't as dark or resinous as I'd really hoped.
  15. Actually it was mostly women I was getting hassled by. I kept getting comments like I was a 5 year old who couldn't tie his shoes. "Are you SURE you can drive there by yourself? Maybe I should just do if for you, just in case.' I don't know, why don't you wait until you are sure you are ready.' Those are just two comments I heard involving things I've done my whole life and suddenly various women were treating me like a little kid and they had to look out for me because I was so incompetent that I couldn't be left alone. It was beyond frustrating for me considering that I am a very independent guy and 99% of the time I'm the person everyone else relies on. To be treated like I was incompetent was really irritating.
  16. I think I fall into the same category as most of your 'old timers' (even though I've only been on here since November) because I would LOVE to see this exact scent in a phero free variant (along with Sorcerer). I'm all about options and I much prefer the option of wearing this phero free. This smells AMAZING!!! I just got my trial vial of it today. I didn't notice anything from it phero wise when I was wearing it but at least I wasn't being totally disrespected by everyone like when I tried wearing Teddy Man.
  17. That's about it! I actually had a male friend ask me, 'Why the hell do you want to smell like maple syrup!' His GF walks over, takes a sniff and gives me a big hug, 'Ohhhhhh.... You smell good enough to just NOM NOM NOM!' He swore at me and walked away.
  18. WOW! I was looking forward to trying my sample of this. I hope I don't like it too much!
  19. I love it! That is exactly it!
  20. I'd have to second Luna's assesment of UN. It really isn't one of my favorite scents but women seem to go gaga over it! I'm just about out of my bottle of it and although I'm not in love with it, the women around me are so I will likely spring for another.
  21. Subscribing. Strictly for scientific purposes.
  22. I've had so many other scents I've been playing with that I haven't worn this one in a while. Yowsa! Now I remember why I sprung for a big bottle. Not only do I think I smell great, I get a lot of compliments on this. There is nothing better than an attractive woman you've never met leaning in, giving you a sniff and saying, 'What are you wearing?' Excalibur. 'Very nice.'
  23. I had to laugh when I wore this yesterday. I like the scent but 2 events really stood out for me. I put this on in my office and immediately left to head down the hall to lunch with a friend. I passed one of the other building tenants and he dryly says, 'A little early.' (It was about 11 am and apparently the whiskey in this made him think I'd been drinking). I stopped and after a second realized what he was referring to. 'Oh, no, it is my cologne.' Then I had him sniff it. 'Dirty.' Then he walked away. I was thinking, 'you have no idea how right you are!' My friend couldn't stop smelling me at lunch. She even said (I love when I get this from women about my LP colognes), 'Oh, I could just NOM NOM NOM you!' Now that, ladies and gentleman is a glowing endorsement.
  24. I guess I'll be your guinea pig then. Thanks! It sounded like something I might like based on the description.
  25. I have a question. Do you think this is one a guy could get away with wearing? I have Black Candy and that has violet in it (along with anice) and I get a lot of compliments on that one. A LOT of compliments. To the point I've thought of buying 2 more bottles on top of the two I already own. Anyway, think a guy could wear this?
