  1. MissHazel, I think you might like this one. Like I said, the spiciness, while initially promient, drops quickly into a subtler, sweet hazelnut scent. (And since I love hazelnut...) *drool*
  2. I'm not sure what to make of this one. I put it on my arms (Glitter Kissed is on the cleavage) and huffed it - and jerked my head away. It smelled like a chemistry lab. After a few seconds I caught what smelled like marzipan to me, but it was a very artificial almond smell. It's dried down now and I'm getting wood, and some cranberry and spice, MAYBE tobacco, but over all there is still a very chemical smell. Very ammonia and chemical perm smell. Also this particular bottle didn't have a shrink wrap on it, but I figured that was an oversight. Package didn't appear to have been tampered-with, so I am assuming that this one may not play nice with my personal chemistry - which is disappointing because I wanted to love this one. I'm going to wait and see if the chemical stuff goes away, and maybe put it back for next year and see what happens. ETA: the chemically smell has much subsided although there is still a kind of benzoin/iodine hint to it. I'm getting more of a sweet berry/wood/smoke smell to it, which latter may be the tobacco. Enjoying it much more.
  3. I slathered! Couldn't help myself. I felt like I was turning into nommy gingerbread! Now it's dried down a bit and I'm getting lovely hazelnut in the gingerbread. Wub, wub, WUB! NOM! ETA: several hours later, the gingerbread/spices have settled more into the background and I'm getting sweet hazelnut. Still NOM! but more subtle.
  4. Some other fragrances with tobacco will sometimes come out more floral on me. Notably 221B and the various versions of Elementary. Not always, just sometimes. Must have to do with my biochem. I don't have the plumbing to have cycles anymore so it isn't that.
  5. All I get initially is MINT and musk. On drydown the mint has faded some and I'm getting...I think it's the musk, sugar, and white tea. I'm not getting F&M or spruce yet. Which is what I most wanted, in addition to the musk... It's nice though, and I do like it! ETA: Been a couple hours now since I applied and there is a hint of incensy resin under the musk now. Nice soft scent. Like.
  6. Thankyew, thankyew! And I can so see that cat taking a running leap and diving headfirst into the Christmas tree, only to get hung up...
  7. I've been wearing it a good bit, too - 'tis the season. This, and Ho Ho Ho! and Ghost of Christmas Past. The greens are very evergreeny to me now, but yes, it's mellower than it was and I like it better. And fwiw, it seems like if I moisturize my breasts with argan oil (my cleavage being my preferred perfume application area), the scent lasts longer. If I moisturize, then use Mara's silicone roller stuff, THEN apply the perfume, it stays and stays.
  8. That is NOT what my husband will say if he catches a look at the bank notices...
  9. I'll take a Tabby Tiger and a Spotted Leopard, please!
  10. I found an argan dry oil for body at Ulta that I've been using for body moisturizing. I'm thinking maybe I should use that on the girls and see if my perfumes last longer...
  11. From my journal-- Unisexy: Smelled like clean skin in the bottle. Slightly musky on; really lovely. This may go full bottle if there's any left. And I haven't even seen how hubby likes it! Elrond Half-Siamese was on the stairs when I passed by after applying and in the mood to play-fight. So I grabbed him lightly, and he wrapped his front paws around my hand - then he sniffed. He held on and sniffed for several seconds, then decided it was too strong and backed off - but he didn't run away and he only backed off a scant foot. Then I started in with spider-fingers, and next thing I know he's letting me touch him, then he goes right back into fierce playtime! He's never reacted like this with ANY scented phero before. He LIKES it. Added since writing journal: The drydown has morphed a little. I still smell mostly a soft, clean musk, but the sweetness of the vanilla and maple has come through juuuuust a bit. There's a smokiness which must be the tobacco, but it's barely there. I don't pick up sandalwood per se, but the musk has changed just enough to a more subtle, complex fragrance that I think that must be the sandalwood's effect. Simple and sophisticated at the same time - how does Mara do it???
  12. Luna, the "smells activate emotions" quote might make more sense if it read, "Scents activate emotions." It's actually a complete sentence - subject/verb/direct object - but the word used as the subject is normally a verb. Hence the mental disconnect. And Cougar, scented or unscented, is bang-on EXCELLENT for getting the guys to come a'knockin'! ('Scuze the pun - it was NOT intended, but decided to leave it anyway!)
  13. Actually, Eggers, yeah, I have. I've always looked younger than my age, but for awhile there after the surgery it was catching up with me. Now suddenly I am a young whippersnapper/respected figure all mixed into one package. And percieved as beautiful and sexy and hot, to boot. I'm not sure how that all works, but dang, it is. ETA: I've had a few people in private at cons correctly guess my real age, but they are doing it based on estimating from my EXPERIENCE, not my looks or behavior.
  14. Cougar works really well for me in the sexual aspect of DIHL. That with a little dab of OCCO white will have hubby all over me. Popularity Potion is my go-to for public appearances though. It's interesting in that I get star treatment like some of the top-selling authors, and I am perceived as a very young woman. I have been mistaken for late 20s on a good day.
  15. I wore it Sunday. I was MC at the local SF con and I split the days wearing 221B and this, along with Popularity Potion both days. I felt and was treated like The Woman, lol!

    221B

Interesting. I had to get some of that stuff from Mara that you put on to keep it from soaking into your skin and vanishing. My skin eats it. But that worked very nicely for me this past weekend, when I was the MC for the local SF con. I used 221B on F and Sa, along with PP. I was treated like a queen and a general expert on whatever I discussed.
  17. My nose was probably interpreting the spice as incense. (I tend to like spicy incenses and room fragrances.) I haven't had a chance to go back to try this again. I need to soon, but maybe after I've EATEN something spicy so my sinuses are open and I'm less likely to get a headache.
  18. Yesterday I tried Ebil-ish! I adored the smell. It was sliiiiightly incense-y, very sophisticated, very...haute. I loved it. Unfortunately something about it didn't like me, because I developed an allergic-type headache within an hour of application. Very good throw, which only added to the problem, since I had it on wrists and chest. Eventually the headache went away and the fragrance was still there. Going to set it back a bit and try again later and see if I get a headache again. Frankly given the ragweed pollen levels, I'm surprised every scent isn't giving me a sinus headache. I think I have been fighting a sinus infection for close to a month. I get it to go away, and then the pollen levels bring it right back.
  19. Yes, it's very masculine. Old-fashioned strong male masculine.
  20. Nom nom nom! Ai haz orderd! Maybe too soon, but hey...it took it.
