Recommended Posts

Our resident Nature Boy - the one-and-only Le Wizard - has created a summer splash in his inimitable wild style! This light and refreshing scent features a mermaid’s crown of pretty sweet pea, water lily, and plumeria blossoms, drenched in the watery ambiance of Bird of Paradise, bamboo, aloe and leafy wet greens, kissed with fruity accents of honeydew and cantaloupe resting within a treasure chest of teak, sandalwood and white amber with just a touch of the airy jasmine-like shimmer of Hedione, a fragrance ingredient purported to produce an attractant pheromone-like response in others when added to perfume.

MELONS ~ Water magic, fertility
SWEET PEA ~ Lasting pleasure, blissfulness, youthful attraction, friendship, chastity, courage, strength.
PLUMERIA ~ Love, strong ingredient for love spells.
BIRD OF PARADISE ~ Beginnings, excitement, wonderment.
ALOE ~ Protection, luck, healing, success.
BAMBOO ~ Protection, hex breaking, luck and wishes, fertility, wisdom, feminine energy.
WATER LILY ~ Purity of heart.
JASMINE ~ in this case, HEDIONE ~ Self confidence, anxiety reduction, prosperity; powerful love attractant, spiritual love.
AMBER ~ Fertility, creativity, love, luck, riches.
SANDALWOOD ~ Love, exotic, sensual atmospheric; aphrodisiac. Healing, spirituality, exorcism.
TEAKWOOD ~ Longevity, bonding, weathering all conditions, endurance.

We walked far along the shore, and every so often you would
stop and wade into the surf
the blue was limitless leading from our feet
no division between ocean and sky
we followed along in the footsteps of the sandpipers.
And you would ask
“Do you hear them singing?”
And what if I did? I wondered
who could survive such arias
a thousand voices of the deep
whalesong and dolphin chatter
the boom of thunder and the roar of waves
splash and crash
giggle of gulls and far-off bells, warning.
“The bells, yes the bells, and the singing!”
They say the sailors sing to foreswear whatever else they might hear
from below
as they glide past
archipelagos where the sirens gather
combing their hair like kelp
scales flashing in the dawn
diving down down down
but oh they so long to look upon alien faces
cruder than their own.
“Have you heard the singing?” I ask
and your expression is wistful, looking to the horizon
“No,” you say,
“I try, but they are not calling to me.”
The surf pushes at you, pushes you away
no, these mysteries are not yours
the mermaid’s kiss, licking your salty lips
is only a dream of tides and storms and drowning.
