OCCO 2019: Buttercream Lemon

Recommended Posts

OCCOButtercreamLemon.jpg

One of our most popular combinations is now available as an OCCO! Give the target of your affections a squeeze of three types of lively lemon stirred into the most delectable mix of buttercreams and rich vanilla varieties with just a drop of amber in the base.

This was the first of my sampler to test on my skin. I was probably most nervous about this one just because on paper I should always love but sometimes heavy buttercream dairy notes go wonky on me. I worried for nothing!  The buttercream dominates for me and it’s my favorite kind. Smooth, decadent, creamy and sweet. I’d lick my arm if I didn’t know better. The lemon is pretty tame considering how clear and sharp lemon usually is. It’s more mellow dessert like lemon, not lemon extract or lemonade. It’s a little sunny but not super bright. It also lasts longer than your average lemon topnote. That said the whole perfume faded somewhat quickly. Maybe an hour? Vibe wise it reminded me most of Fairy Lure or Mothership ( I think that’s what I’m thinking of), more of a fruity cereal and milk scent than aggressively lemony. I truly think this is going to be one that gets gorgeous with age. Just like my current bottle of OCCO White that I ordered a year ago but just really fell in love with in the past month.

Oddly enough, what this remind me of - to the T - is Lorien's Skelly Tart, a Private Edition which cheeseburger79 requested years ago (lemon creme brulee) because that candied lemon right in the center of it is so delicious!  Butterscream Lemon, on the other hand, is to me more of an all-around bakery-type lemon; I get the lemon and the other notes blended in equal measure.  But if you're a lemon lover this OCCO! is really great, I love how it's tangy and sugary and creamy and warm it is.  It's got a good intensity to the blend which means it wears well, and it stays pretty linear throughout.

Mmm I totally get the Skelly Tart too.  This is pure lemon goodness. And it LASTS.  I've had it on for a couple of hours and it's the same bright gorgeous splash of lemon as 8t was when it went on. Very consistent,  utterly delicious.
