Are you troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night? Do you experience feelings of dread in your basement or attic? Have you or your family ever seen a spook, spectre or ghost? If the answer is "yes," then don't wait another minute. Pick up the phone and call the professionals...

Bwahahaha! That's friggin' hysterical. And I think you were the only one who got it, inkling! :)

Question for Mara and/or Danna regarding the phero additive......is there any chance that you will sell a small amount of the blends for us to add to perfumes that we already own?

Hate to interrupt the Ghost Busters love, but I had a question relating to pheros.

Do the animal derived musks have a phero component to them? And related to that, what are the chemical similarities and differences between musks and pheros?

Weren't musks supposed to add an animalistic reaction to scents, similar to what you are doing with pheromones?

Are we talking in theory?

We don't use any animal derived products, but back in the early days of perfuming musks wer thought to have the properties of that animal, and is was thought that people responded to the animal pheros that were in the musk.

Exactly so. Musks have always been attributed with the power to arouse sexual desire and the heightening of passion. It's an accepted fact both in 'magic', and in the corporate perfume world.

Much of the magical ingredient lore we rely upon when making our scents, has become established lore because the effects of certain ingredients had an observable effect that was repeated time after time. It's science. It's folk 'medicine woman' science, but science nontheless.

What Pharmacom does in their lab is extremely similar to what we do over here, just in a different way. They with cutting edge odorous chemicals, and we with naturally derived aromas, but towards the same end: to gently influence through the olfactory senses.

from http://www.essortment.com/olfactorysenses_rapy.htm

"Our sense of smell can influence mood, physical well-being, memory, emotions, sexual desire, our hormones, and our immune system. That is also why we feel at ease with soothing, familiar smells, get turned on sexually with sensual perfume smells, and get upset and uneasy with foul or harsh smells."

so, the differences between lab derived musks and lab derived pheros?

Mostly asking because I have noted that musks explode with my skin chemistry, and take over any scent to a point where I usually can't/don't wear them. My experience with Phero-girl Dominance was similar, with the pheros taking over as the scent dried. Obviously, the people developing the pheros are doing so with specific attention to their effect on humans, while people developing musks are probably paying more attention to scent; but I was curious about how much cross-over may or may not exist between the two.

The difference is that the pheromone chemicals are all synthetic: they are synthesized in the laboratory from other chemicals, paying careful & utmost attention to the purity and quality of the chemicals. Musk is the same game, but completely different sport.

Pheromones do have a rather strange, albeit mild odor. Some are extremely sensitive to this odor, but the vast majority of people take well to it - associating it to the magikal sensations they feel from them. Musk is comparable insofar as mechanism of action versus lab pheromones. Musk contains odoriferous, monocyclic lipid-like chemicals which influence the electrical firing of certain receptors in various parts of the brain. From our experience, the synchronization of the two has a cumulative effect: each reinforces the other.

Waiting for Pharmacom man for the answer to the science part of the question...

But meet me for lunch and let me annoint you with straight phero juice and see what happens! :) What I have noticed of the Pharmacom pheros, is that they have a very pleasant cloudy musky scent, quite light and somewhat floral-y at times. I don't know how it will react with your chemistry, but just from my 'nose' point of view, I find these Pheros more gracefully refined smelling than any of the others we've used so far. I like them.

Mara, I had asked a question, and maybe I just missed the answer.....I look like this :) from all the tax returns I've been doing.....will you consider selling like "booster packs" of pheros for us to add to the potions that we already own? I would love to "juice up" my Dark Seductions, Messalina, and a few others......

I'm still thinking about that actually. Mr. Pharmacom and I are in the middle of a discussion about it, and will answer once we have our options sorted. Patience, child!!!! :)

Thank you, this was the answer I was looking for.

So, with synthetics, the pheromones are created to interact with pheromone receptors, while musks are created to interact with scent receptors. Naturally derived animal musks have a combination of animal pheromones and scent, which may be why they work so well for the animals. (Your experience of the synchronization.) Which actually supports blending "sexy" scents with the pheromones, because this would provide that same sort of synchronization. Right?

I am curious to try to the new blends, and see if my experience with them differs greatly from my first experience.

Doink! Rather thin-skinned are we?

I'm thinking she meant it simply as a reference to youth.

I picture an old man sitting on his front porch in a rocker, with a corn cob pipe or hayseed in his mouth, calling the youngsters whippersnappers. :)

LOL! Scourger, wherever do you find these things...

1. whipper snapper

What old people, generally your grandparents, call "youngsters". The word is derived from the term "snapping your whip" which means getting a b0n3r. So basically your granddad is calling you a whipper snapper because you can get it up and he can't. The term has been used less frequently since the development of viagra

"You young whipper snappers!! Always sticking your business in places were it doesn't belong!"

Urban dictioanry makes up whatever they want to. I doubt that it originally had anything like a phallic connotation. I think that in modern slang it is simply used exactly as katz meant it, to mean someone young. I've usually heard it used with an edge of admiration for the intelligence and audacity of youth.

Talking about Phero sensitivity

I have a bottle of 50mcg per spray Estratetraenol (to save my typing let's call it Est) this phero is supposed to put men at ease and be comforting. (If I recall correctly, it is a synthetic version of a phero found in the urine of pregranant women (sorry if that is too much info).

Anyhows, this stuff is supposed to be really potent even in eensy doses. I tried it at 50mcg (one spray) it did nothing I could detect. Knowing that with pheros less is often more I diluted it down to 5mcg per spray and then again to .5 mcg per spray.

At these levels I could not smell the pheros at all. But even at (oen spray) .5 mcg with cover my step-mother said I smelled of urine.

The others present did not agree. The interesting thing is, my step-mother has given birth to seven children - so I am guessing she was beccame extremely used to the scent of Est through her pregnancies and so associated it, sub-consciously, with urine.

Some folk just seem more sensitive than others. It did put me off the Est though.
