OCCO: Ambrosia w/ EOW cops

Recommended Posts

Zomg, you guys are killing me! I am seriously regretting not at least ordering a sample of this! So is it still available in the monthly sampler? I think I shall cave & order one if so. :Emoticons0424: A flower for my pretties, lol.

Nope completely gone. Sorry. Not even the Monthly packs are available anymore because they would now be incomplete.

WOWZA! Congratz on brewing such a big hit, mamacita :Emoticons0804:

Oh no Mara, does this mean my monthly sampler will be sans OCCO: Ambrosia?? Or did you put it together before you ran out?? I hope this is the case! :)

This one seems like it went pretty fast. Has anything ever gone this fast before?

Oh yes, over the years there's always those scents which seem to sell out within a week or two; you just never know which ones those might be (well maybe some are more obvious than others).

I'm pretty sure I inadvertantly contributed to the quick sell out of this one by mentionining it's low numbers on the GGG thread, and continuing to follow them as it went down, down, down.... sorry everyone

Yup. If there's ever a re-brew of this, I am SO in. What a great little Occo this is! It feels bright and sunny - which is what I hoped to find in the regular Occo line. I like fruitier scents and I'm never sure which Occo would work with fruity perfumes. There's Purple, which comes off a little fruity on me, but it doesn't feel bright enough to accommodate most of the fruitier perfumes. Some, but not all.

But Ambrosia... WOW. So pretty and fruity and sunny! Augh! And sexy!

Granted, I'm a geek for mango, so this was bound to be a win. Will ration this sample. It's too good to go using willy-nilly.

I second this! Eagerly waiting for this lovely perfume to come back. Though I like OCCO White and Black very much, too, the Ambrosia is the one I love most. So fruity-mangoish with the most delicious vanilla, leaving a powdery and fruity vanilla veil on the skin, even after hours of application.

OCCO: Ambrosia is available again!

Ingredients arrived and a fresh brew awaits you.

:D

OHH that's awesome! I don't have to hoard every last drop of this - I can slather to my heart's content and know another bottle is only an order away :)

JOC to the rescue, she sent me a sample of this & whoa! There is ZERO cps smell. It smells like sweet candy, but not innocent girly candy. My husband sniffed & commented that it is "sweet", but said nothing negative. He asked what it was for, but did not detect the "ass" smell ;)

So I finally open a bottle and did a full test today. I was quite disappointed on wet. I was expecting a crystal clear fruit scent (straight forward, upfront fruit). On wet, it was a sugary, powdery fruit scent .... Oops. So I added a couple of dabs of Sugar Plum Fae on the back of my hands.

No cops was detected even on wet but I was not going to tempt fate and risk having cops on my clothes. I got dressed 20 minutes.

Another 20 minutes later, I was on my way to work. I saw beside an Australian colleague. The moment I sat down, he commented that I smell of vanilla (and yes, I could smell that too) and it'd a very nice vanilla. I got him to sniff the back of my and my forearm and I learnt that he loves to scent his home.

Ha! I was showing BF my new haul, as it arrived this afternoon, and he took one look at the label for Occo Ambrosia and said, "Hey! That's your bum!"

 Yeah, he sure has his good points.

Wearing this today & I like it. It's a perfect cops scent. Very forward vanilla & almost marshmallow-y. Seriously, I detect zero cops. I don't think I'm going to go full bottle though. My personal preference is to pair mango with grapefruit, but I will treasure this sample.

I guess patience really does have it's virtues. Haven't ordered in soooo long, missed the original Ambrosia nomminess entirely. Can not wait to get my hands (well, my nose, really... then DH's hands) on the rebrew--thank god I ordered a bottle before it's gone as well!

Hoping not to get a lot of powder... usually honeys are the culprit for me with that. My fantasies of ooey gooey golden gilded sex bombasticness tend to become powdery realities... I once claimed to be a honey ho, and wish I could be; but alas, not so much. An unabashed fruit whore, though, absolutely :banana105: which is somewhat what I'm hoping this is, in a bottle :choochookris7fo:

@Eggers, funny that you mention Occo Purple as fruity... Purple is a sort of mystery to me. Earthy, maybe? I haven't figured out how to utilize it yet. I find White a little too syrupy sweet, but my (like, almost daily) OCCO goto is PINK. It's the frikkin sex bomb for reals... and it's got a fruitiness to it, I layer it with nearly everything... which is nearly always fruity. So if you generally like pink stuff, try that for sure!

I just went to put Purple and Pink on each hand, actually. Well, a little more Purple on one, then Pink on the other for kicks. Results: definitely got a fruit hit when wet upon reapplication on Purple hand, but it's still olfactorally confusing because it feels incomplete to my taste but I don't know what to layer it with... Occo Pink I could wear as a stand alone. It smells to me like... bubble gum matured into a smokin' sexpot of a woman. Kind of the opposite of sad porn chicks with fake pigtails on top, think a pink pigtail base after it's developed a sincere and smoldering sensuality.

Damn, better restock some Pink, too!

K, so I forgot about this until yesterday, but something funny happened when I was wearing it. See, I use my 13 yr.old son as the gauge to see if my cops are at an acceptable level to wear in public. I had him sniff this when I was wearing & he just said it was fruity, so I took him to grocery store with me. He did something very uncharacteristic! There was a girl's soccer team at the store (his age group), & he was like "I'm liking that girl's soccer team!" Hilarious, because normally he is so reserved & serious when it comes to the fairer sex. It had to have been his exposure to the cops, poor guy.

kblazin - I layer Occo Purple with Perty Flirty and with LP Summer '09. It works really, really well with those two, at least. I dig Occo Pink too. Those are two of my favourites from the permanent Occo line. Well, *the* two favourites, actually. So yummy! :)

Haha! I just saw this. Same patootie, maybe, just a bit bigger! ;)

Personally, I think he's just looking through "they eyes of lo-ove!"

I have GOT to get me some OCCO Pink. You mention bubblegum though - does it go bubblegummy on you the way LP Pink does a bit on me? Or is it fresher like Lauren's Sweet Pink Fairy for example?

Not sure I have Pink Fairy to compare it too, but I wouldn't say it really smells bubblegummy. Then again, LP Pink doesn't either to me so much, but they certainly smell very-- PINK. That particular blend of fruity sweetness like a strawberried spun sugar mixed with creamy vanilla... LPP has an almost anise quality that OCCO doesn't, and OCCO has the citrus (and cops, heh) that LPP doesn't. I don't know what magical berry blend Mara uses to create the wonder that is Pink, but I do remember from a cosmetic experiment in grade school involving natural fruit flavors that combining them smells like bubblegum!

Now, if there was such a thing as sexy sexy bubblegum, IMO it would aspire to smell like Pink. Which is kinda what I was trying to say, like I could imagine the bubblegum pupa that metamorphed to a hot pink butterfly :nice09719:(plus :say59:)

I dunno, I'm a little dizzy right now, my package came crazy fast and I'm covered in samples. Puuurrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Ambrosia btw got a big stamp of approval from DH, though it's second to SLF. I'm glad I got the bottle of Ambrosia, it's nice to have a non-smutty... coptail? concoption?... little sumpin sumpin to add to my coco oil in the morning. :020105~21: Kudos to LP, as always! :clapW2:

eta: DH said he smelled the cheese in this and SLF, the latter didn't really surprise me (though I couldn't) but really shocked me to hear about Ambrosia. I sure can't. As he put it though, he 'feels' it, so maybe since he knows it's cops, and knows the cheese, there's crossover... and in Ambrosia's defense, he can smell the cheese in anything.

I only have Pink, Purple and White of the 'main' colors. Red too, but tucked away somewhere cuz it's way too brown sugary for me, at least in this weather! Purple was a random BOGO sale purchase out of curiosity, I will definitely find a way to work it now that I know DH loooooves that civet note.

OK, just threw on some from my apparently leaking bottle (really Purple, NOW??) and DH not only likes (of course) but his immediate response: "That one's bright and fruity!"

Sounds intriguing. I don't like anise, and some vanillas go a bit yucky on me, though maybe it is more the "play-doh" thing I think I have read someone say elsewhere than bubblegummy though, so the OCCO might not have that problem for me. I guess I will just have to get it and try it!

Does anyone know which particular ingredients you are talking about that produce a bubblegum smell when combined?

There isn't anise in LPP that I'm aware of, but there is a vaguely licorice-y aspect I don't know how to describe--except to say that, when I hear of the aphrosiac properties of pumpkin, lavender, vanilla and licorice i think, oh it's that licorice sexiness distilled. Anise is the closest thing I can come up with scentwise, but in the way berry+berry = bubblegummy, this X factor sum of some of Pink's combined nomminess= anise/licorice. Gah, the more I try to describe the less sense it seems to make! Someone else here has to have a better way of describing it! But it's a good thing.

Play-doh wise, it is the AMBER not the vanilla that goes that way, at least on me. Pink on it's own doesn't really, but an example of what does is the GGG LP/BI, which is so delicious but unfortunately a total play-doh festival. Every time I've worn it people ask what smells like play-doh, "but good" BUT-- play-doh. When I wore it to work, back when it came out, I heard people say I smelled like play-doh, not bad but like, 'yep, it actually does.' And that'e exactly what it is on me, the yummy base with loads of juicy apricot ...smothered in play-doh.

And it's the amber for sure; it's happened to various degrees with a couple other things, the only one that sticks out in my mind is a bottle of Obsession several years ago (also very amber heavy) which normally doesn't do that on me. But, I got a few bottles of LP/BI and they all were very play-dohy... though of course, YMMV ;)

^ that is correct. kblazin, LP LE w/BI smells SO different from regular/unboosted LP O on me, they are like completely different scents. I love both, but w/BI it has this duskiness and "bite" to it.

I think at one point, LP Original was boosted with Blatant Invitation, and sold as a limited edition.

Oooh, ok... actually that sounds like a pretty nice idea! I only have Blatant Invitation in UN form, and I haven't been giving it any love because most mornings I couldn't be bothered waiting for drydown and finding a good cover scent, etc... I really should try it as a boost in something!

I have a bottle and the stuff is a ticking sex bomb. It has that something extra which I can't quite put my finger on but smells like it has a hidden agenda. I feel like regular LP original is a bit brighter but this one is looking for trouble, in the best possible way of course. :666:

Should definitely get it boosted in something! I just did on with my next order. I have UN BI 2x in 60/40 spray and PEEEYEWW. It's frikkin awesome but most days I'm in too much of a rush that I forget to spritz it on in time to have the appropriate dry down.

I have a bottle of this, been saving it for...well, some things don't go on the internet, but your description,Invi,is spot on :) and it has aged so beautifully, deeply rich, with that hint of dusky like Tyvey said.

...and now that I have my back-up bottle of OCCO Ambrosia ,hmmm,no now that would be overkill, well maybe a dab :001_302:

btw I'm one who would never really use EOW *neat* ...with all the goodies and options we have here,no need to!
