In the vial I primarily smell the tobacco and whisky, the latter has a nice sort of peat-like characteristic (as proper whisky should), together they have sort of a "brisk" quality, interestingly enough. When it first warms to the skin it's really dark but smooth (the amber, patchouli and tonka bean are the LP base's sexy evil twin), and there's an edge of pepper there, but not too much. The leather is nice because it's more the suggestion of leather, like you can smell someone nearby who happens to be wearing a leather jacket. Over time the anise is more prominent - I love the anise note/accord you use, M&D, it's perfect! I really really like this...it's not the OMFG of Super, but it's sexy and totally wearable by a woman if you like the more masculine scents (and you know I do!). So y'all just need to grab your sample and dab this on someone, okay? You, your man, the mailman, some random guy at the supermarket...whatever! And for those men playing along at home, if you want to smell sexy there's NO QUESTION that this will assist you in that pursuit...and maybe a few others as well. I think my man amp amber, cuz that was all I got, and I am not a huge fan. Dolly Posted September 14, 2008 Share Posted September 14, 2008 I tried this one on myself first, and like many of you, I think I actually like this blend better than the women's on me.....I love the women's version too, though.....while they are complimentary, they are also quite different from each other. On my man, OMG.....Super is still my favorite, but this runs a very close second. My sweetie's skin turns it into an even richer, deeper, darker, "manly-man" scent. I may pick him up a back-up bottle.....we may need it.....and I can borrow it occassionally, just like I do with his "UN"..... He wore it one evening while we were on vacation in Florida.....we were out at this little partially open-air dockside bar......and I got to see the reactions.....no pheros, just this scent. As the little breezes would blow through, you would hear comments from the ladies, like "something smells so sexy"......and when he would walk past one and they would get a whiff, they looked like they were going to start salivating..... I tried this scent oyut on me and it just doesnt work. It is lovely, but there is something in it that my nose just really doesnt like, sigh, I will try it on my boy once more. I gave it to my dad and he seemed to like it, but he keeps forgetting to wear it (ugh...guys/men *rolls eyes*) not suprised since he's not a parfume-y man, but my mom seemed to like it as well on him! After about an hour, the leather decided to join the party. Very much a "dude" smell that was present most of the day, but light like a lingering from last night kinda way. It was boosted with Boy/Boy, too, so there was a lot of male bonding going on around me...even noticed some fellas unconsciously hanging around wherever I went. Me likey! I get the rich booziness, the resins and pepper, it is swoon-worthy. This is what I wish Mark's Tonka Tabacum and Soiled Dove had been, and I'm pleased to discover it exists! This would be great over cops, too! adding: I tried Sand Witch over the drydown and the combo is delicious! At first it is just a brown sugar scent, but once it warms up a bit D&D is drop dead sexy. I put this on in my office and immediately left to head down the hall to lunch with a friend. I passed one of the other building tenants and he dryly says, 'A little early.' (It was about 11 am and apparently the whiskey in this made him think I'd been drinking). I stopped and after a second realized what he was referring to. 'Oh, no, it is my cologne.' Then I had him sniff it. 'Dirty.' Then he walked away. I was thinking, 'you have no idea how right you are!' My friend couldn't stop smelling me at lunch. She even said (I love when I get this from women about my LP colognes), 'Oh, I could just NOM NOM NOM you!' Now that, ladies and gentleman is a glowing endorsement. Smell of whiskey and, not cigarette smoke, but somehow tobacco. Like an upmarket gentleman's club that has fallen in the world and is now a haunt of hardened crims and bent coppers. And a bloke wearing a leather jacket, jeans and biker's boots bellied up to the bar, one foot on the brass rail. He's resting his arm on the bar and his hand is holding a whiskey glass with a pale amber whiskey and two ice cubes in it. Who is he, what's he doing there? Who knows... When I smell this one I can't say, "wow I smell good" or "delicious" or something like that. But I can't stop smelling it. It doesn't smell good, but it doesn't smell bad either... it smells sort of dirty, it smells like a tough guy that a woman would get pash rash off of and like it, it smells intriguing. I found it today, popped off the cap and was thrown into downright dirty and blushy-worthy fantasy. This is by far the raunchiest cologne I have ever come across! It makes me want to behave very badly and makes me wanna shout it out for the world to hear but I'm usually a modest girl in public and on the forums so I don't understand how a lil' bottle has so much power over me! This evening I was trying on dresses b/c I have a few gatherings to go to this summer; birthday, graduation, bachelorette parties, bbq's, concerts, beer fest, ect. I have a few dresses ranging from flirty-girly sundresses to sex bomb to hippie chic so I was having fun planning what to wear the next few weekends. This weekend I'm going to wear D&D4H w/ my itty bitty black tank top dress to a concert. I tried the dress on and felt kinda slutty, like it was just too much but then I rolled my bottle of D&D on and I OWNED it so yeah, I can't go out next weekend with out this potion! I am so thankful I snagged one of the last bottles in a sale a couple years ago when I was still new and had no idea what anything was here. Thank you, thank you, thank you Mara for that sale! I never would have gotten my hands on this <3 My boyfriend will also thank you after next weekend! I can't even describe the scent of this but I will try. It kind of has a cool quality to it at first but during dry down it heats up... maybe that is the anise and pepper changing it up. The patchouli gives it a sexy depth, the leather, whisky and tobacco is what really does me in I think....... it's so rugged and manly yet it is unisex, totally hot on a chick too....... honestly in my opinion it's like porn in a bottle. YES, it does Luna, it's intense! Long ago I was once a naive LP newcomer and didn't think perfume could ever compare to the effects of pheromones but I was very wrong. This is all man like you said so I'm not sure why I said it's unisex. I'll blame that comment on my intoxication last night I think I meant that it can be so sexy on both man and woman while some colognes can just be too masculine and sharp for some ladies. I guess b/c for me, this cologne comes off so sexual that anyone can get away with wearing it when they want to make that statement.
