    Thane

**snort** I can't decide whether I am the red tabby or the purple-eyed white Viking Kitteh...
  2. You can change the hemisphere, but you cain't change the UN!
  3. Hysterical - I see a consistent theme here... MEN - This is sticky sweet crap. I smell like a maple syrup truck overturned in a tobacco field. WOMEN - **drools uncontrollably and touches self** I stand by my earlier assessment of UN.
  4. Well yeah, Tobaccy & 'Nilla. But I like a little mahagony or other woods in the background. I like oudh, used judiciously. I am a big florals fan - manly florals that smell tres sexy on DH: Lavender, Violet, Jasmine (specifically Sambac), Carnation. Sharp, tart berry notes like currant are good too.

    Majmua Sultana

Well hell, I was totally NOT interested in trying this because I am no maj mua fan (other than the ones I mix up myself!) but now you gone and done it - 101 Nights of Sugared Babe? I need to sniff this.
  6. Green seems to be a theme here. So last night I swiped some on DH because he hasn't really tried it. His exact words: "Hmm...really green." So I guess everyone is in agreement. A first. Creole Man is nice, but DH gives the nod to FROG, one of his all-time favorites. It's that swampy element - he likes to wear it to bed.

    Banishing Moon

This is one of the few of DHs scents that I sneak over and perform snipe-a-swipe on. I am not an almond girl, and sandalwood usually repels me, but this one is so very different, and so strong and empowering, that I wear it myself occasionally. On DH it is absolutely gorgeous - warm adn strong and almost vibrational. And the label is so very phallic. I too am surprised that it doesn't get more press. It's just soo...unusual...I can't find a better word.
  8. Miss Right is one that DH wears pretty regularly - and he even kept the bottle at work for a while until he decided the nearly-nekkid label wasn't work appropriate. Miss Right & 2 others have such an obvious effect that even DH recognizes it and uses them specifically for influence. When he got home last night, I could smell the Miss Right and I commented on it. He explained that he had performed an "in hindsight, ill-conceived, experiment" with Miss Right and 2 out of state reps whom he wanted to influence on a particular issue. Ill-conceived because what should have been a 1/2 hour meeting on the issue turned into a 2 hour chat session. <insert eye roll here> "GAWD! I couldn't get them to leave!" He said they fiddled with things on his desk, even stood up and came around behind his desk, and "kept pawing me!" (I assume since this was in an office he means they kept touching his arms...I hope) It just gives him the heebies when women get all up in his personal space. Poor baby. But hey, when you pull out the hoodoo, you must accept the consequences! He did get confirmation that they will accede to his request, however, so it was successful, as far as that goes.
  9. Do you use any sort of skin product on your neck and chest? Retin-A? CP products? Those might react with the EoW. Recently I had my first ever reaction - I had a bright red ring of burned looking skin all around my neck (I circle my neck with perfume!) and down to my decollatage...charming! That was Liberty Bell, of all things. I've been hesitant since with some of the spicier perfumes, but it hasn't reoccurred. My skin is normally not sensitive either, but circumstances must have been just right. It took several days to fade! Even DH commented on it.

    Purple Pitch

Tanks much, Invi, for feeding the addiction... Deep sticky violets? I'm all in.

    Scarlet Silk

Wore this one last night for bed - I hadn't worn it in a long while and forgot how smooth and silky and slinky it is! I never would think that cinnamon could be so smooooooth...cinnamon usually hits my nose like a hammer (in a good way) but this is sleek and silky.

    Touch of EBIL!

This is an easy one to review - yummy yumbly yum yum. As a cousin of Sinister Pink, this is sweetness with a hint of smoky-woodsy-amber. The lemon is there at first - breakfast cereal lemon, followed by a breath of vanilla-y amber, and then the smoke wafts by (just a hint) and finally a woodsy grounding. Sweet but not sickening. DH even said, "That's a good one," (High praise indeed) and usually he is repulsed by the sweet scents I dig.

    Garden of Mystery

Garden of Mystery The first seductress upon the earth, the first woman who could not be tamed…Lilith is a powerful figure in the mythologies of the world. We hope to embody her seductive aura as she first appeared in the Garden with an equally complex and captivating fragrance: the temptations of muscadine grape, pomegranate and lime, walnut and hazelnut, with hints of ginger and marshmallow root layered with rich balsamic amber. To invite others into the mystery one should be enigmatic…and you will be as longed for as Lilith, haunting the memories of all those she conquered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magickal Meanings of Ingredients: MUSCADINE GRAPE ~ Fertility, increases mental prowess, money attracting. POMEGRANATE ~ Divination, luck, wishes granted, wealth, fertility. LIME ~ Healing, love, protection. HAZELNUT ~ Intuition, wisdom, protection, fertility. WALNUT ~ Leaves promote fertility, carry nuts to delay pregnancy. Wishes granted, strengthens the heart, enhancement of mental powers. Dark earthly powers. GINGER ~ Fiery and fortifying, induces passion. Intensifies love spells and success spells. Love, money, success, power. Ginger increases sensitivity in the erogenous zones. MARSHMALLOW ROOT ~ Fertility, happiness, creativity, increase in psychic awareness, intuition, love, protection, exorcism. Gently commanding and persuading. BALSAMIC AMBER ~ Fertility, love, luck, riches. NOTE: While the citrus in this blend is quite well diluted, please be aware that citrus on bare skin under direct sunlight can burn and even bleach the skin. Take care, if you plan to wear citrus perfumes outside during the day, make sure that the areas on which you've applied it are covered by clothing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I admit it - I was afraid to try Garden of Mystery. It's the muscadine...last time I tried a perfume with muscadine I smelled like the worst sort of rotten funk. Have you ever smelled the grapes in a fermentation vat at a winery? Yeah, that. But luckily, it reacted differently on me here. This smells vaguely like a high-end soda pop to me...like Blue Sky's take on Lilith's garden. But also somehow sexy. Is there such a thing as a sexy natural soda? Anyway... I keep sniffing my arm. Garden of Mystery is different, sexy, and hard to pin down. And I do get the occasional whiff of fermenting grapes, but not in a "OMG go wash yourself off, woman" type of way.

    Iron Angel

Cedar on first application - and then softened a bit by Frankinscense. Then it softens and a touch of the floral peeks through. Another one of this month's scents that gives off a protective vibe for me. Iron Angel feels a touch playful to me though...perhaps she wears a sundress and leather laced sandals.

    Soie et Fourrure

Soie et Fourrure A thoroughly rich blend of florals, spices, woods and resins, with a touch of mink musk and notes of silk and linen to feel as comfortable and decadent as the most beloved of garments caressing your skin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: This is a very smoothly blended oriental with a rich, silky feel. It's likely that none of the notes will jump out at you, but they're all in there! Magickal Meanings of Ingredients: ROSE ~ Self confidence, strong aphrodisiac properties, attracts affection & love, fertility, divination/clairvoyance. JASMINE ~ Self confidence, anxiety reduction, prosperity; powerful love attractant, spiritual love. VIOLET ~ Love, faithfulness, modesty; calming, balancing, healing, protection, draws luck & fortune, lust. ORRIS ROOT ~ Attracts and helps inspire love. Protection, divination. VANILLA ~ Aphrodisiac, inspires happiness, playfulness, sexual arousal, lust, vitalizing. BENZOIN ~ Prosperity, astral projection, purification. PATCHOULI ~ Soothes and uplifts; sensual, sexually stimulating, lust, fertility, money. SANDALWOOD ~ Love, exotic, sensual atmospheric; aphrodisiac. Healing, spirituality, exorcism. VETIVER ~ Enhances perception of beauty. Love, sensuality, money, luck, hex-breaking. OAK MOSS ~ Luck enhancing, financial success, protection, charity. Parental love. LINEN (COTTON) ~ Luck, healing, protection; return of lost love. AMBRETTE ~ Induces lust/lustful cravings, enhances beauty, attracts love, divination. ACACIA FLOWER ~ Secret love. (Acacia tree resin is also known as Gum Arabic.) MUSKS (Mink, Muskaro, Civit) ~ Self- confidence and strength, sexual attractant, heightens passions and arousal. AMBERGRIS ~ Increases personal power, heightens sexual responses, dreaming. COUMARIN ~ Friendliness, fruitfulness. CASSIE ~ Aphrodisiac, soothing, inspiring, aids in battling depression. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was intrigued by this description...and this lives up to the image of a Parisienne draped in silk and furs. It has a very traditional feel to it, but I do get a clear glimmer of silk. Not sure about the fur, however. This is a sophisticated concoction, blended so that nothing stands out sharply. On drydown it has an obvious "perfume" vibe. Something to wear with your best suit when you need to impress the room. I think Dominance would do well with this.
  16. Slightly spicier and more edible than Constant Cravings to my nose. Almost a hot and cinnamon-y feel. I like it better than Constant Cravings, which fell flat on me. But it never develops much depth for me. I will probably use my sample for bedtime, but it's not a must-have so far.
  17. At first application the resins nearly overpower me here. But now, after a drydown of an hour or so, this is a gorgeous resinous meld. I am a sucker for the resins, and the lavender and violet peek through just a tad to keep it balanced. I don't know about sinful, though. This seems much more like a cleansing, protective vibe.

    Trianon-Esque

This was a huge hit with both myself and DH. Not a big booming floral, but a diaphanous veil of a scent. The traditional florals are just slightly tempered with the base sandalwood (not usually a favorite of mine but it behaves itself here) and a tiny touch of musk. Just a gorgeous dreamy summer floral. Two thumbs up.
  19. Dagnabit! I was just coming here to look - there aren't a lot of April reviews yet. I haven't rec'd mine...but I didn't order until the 7th. Hopefully it will be today...or maybe tomorrow. I's impatient. Course I threw a coupla sale bottles in too...
  20. DH wears this one quite a bit - he has a bottle amped with P95 (I think). At first it is just a brown sugar scent, but once it warms up a bit D&D is drop dead sexy. Not overpoweringly dirty, OK for day wear, but it definitely catches your interest with that blend of pepper and anise and tobacco...
  21. At first blush this was a bit too sticky fruity and I blanched... But after a bit, once thoroughly dried, it is that strangely sexy smell that only LP fruit blends can be. Hard to explain how that works. I slathered a goodly amount and went outside on a semi-blustery day to trim my garden of the winter's slough, and I would frequently catch lovely wafts of Premeditated Passion. So now I have a special fondness for it. Funny how scent association is so strong - it will forever remind me of cool early Spring and deep blue skies...and rose thorns, and bleeding arms...j/k
  22. Oh wow! Once again I broke down my spending moratorium...I have to at least try all these. I'm so giddy! Trainon sounds like my type, hmm....as does Iron Angel (my inner Kali will be pleased with the offering). I want to try Lilith's garden but I am also mightily wary of muscandine/pomegranate!

    Fairy Massacre

Well how can I not comment on my love of this after just finishing the latest Hollows book....speaking of Fairy Massacres. And after all my avi is Miss Rachel and mighty Jenks. I'll have to dig this one out of my stash - it's a fab green floral!
  24. SO I am getting impatient for 'scriptions, and I am thinking (I should never think, it leads to nothing good): Trianon-esque - Like what would Marie A. smell like? Cake of course, since the peasants should eat it. And face powder. And oranges. Hmm....I'm hoping I'm wrong. Garden of Mystery? I'm sure I'll like that. Sounds like deep and green and floral and musk? Mayhap? Iron Angel - I thought of Mercy Thompson...stumped on this one. Ideas? Call of the Moon - doggy breath and lilies. Don't ask me why, that's what came to mind. Creole Man - well we already got a hint that this is dark and vanilla and manly! YUM! Yes, I am bored at work today, with a dark gloomy snowy sky and I want some new smellies.
  25. Ooooo - Silk & Fur caught my attention...I'm so textural. And Trianon-esque? Hmmm, what could that be? Touch of Ebil reminded me of Cheesy - HA! And of course DH will be interested in Mercuralia (Commerce - Oh Yes!) and Creole Man (label to rival Woodland Man). **Drums fingers waiting for descriptions**
