  1. I need to come here more often! Congrats to you Rose.
  2. As Dolly said, it does hurt when things don't go as you would wish. But what you did was amazing, really. Getting over the pain will take time but it will happen. If you hadn't taken that step, regret might have continued on for "what might have been". You took a courageous step and I hope for that reason alone, you feel empowered. Now you know and there's no reason to second guess yourself. The right one will come along for you.
  3. NuTrix, it's funny that you mentioned that. I wore this yesterday and something about it reminded me of Sex & Violins. There's a note in it that I smell when first rolling on and then it blends in with lovely with everything else but I think trees is maybe a good description for that note!! I need to go back and double check the notes in both and see if I can narrow down what that specific one is. I can smell it in Raven Moon too (love that stuff so much). I really like this one a lot. LP Black is a bit intense for work so it's a weekend love but this resiny scent seems a bit lighter on me so I may need to try it out and see how it goes during the work week.
  4. I was thinking maybe Open Windows since they seem to want to but haven't made the step to talk yet!
  5. Welcome! You are going to have a great time here. Can't wait to read your reviews. It's going to feel like a holiday when your box arrives! LOL
  6. Eggers summed it up nicely. If you haven't used them before, it does take some practice and really noticing the environment you're using them in. Everyone's "sweet spot" is going to be different and the motto here has always been to start small and work your way up. When I first started, I know I tried the "more is better" thought but that can sometimes create the opposite effect of what you wanted!! I have a feeling if you start with the minimal and experiment your way up, you'll probably find that you needed a lot less than you thought you did. Or, in the alternative, some have found they need a bit more for an effect but that's all part of the fun - learning what works for you!! And never forget to be careful of what pheros you are using in a particular situation. The best idea is to make sure it's congruent with the outcome you would like. Sexpionage at work is not advised! LOL Here's a couple of good threads to read. Dolly has been kind to provide insights and suggestions based on her vast experience with pheros and I know it's helped me out a lot in the past to read her threads. Hope it helps you too!! http://lovepotion.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=3155 http://lovepotion.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=8852
  7. *sigh*. I'm thinking I'm going to forego February. I ordered my PEs for my mom's and my birthday. I really think at the most I'll get the trials. I need to take a breather before I break the bank but good.
  8. I'm so sorry you're still having to wait Eggers. Don't know if you tend to find this happening in your location but I can guarantee that here, if it says that it will out for delivery on a specific day, I NEVER get it a day sooner. It will sit in Phoenix for two days rather than be out for delivery two days earlier than it stated it would. They will be that much greater for you when they arrive!!!
  9. Dolly is always gracious enough to provide threads on different questions that we've all had at one time or another. One you might start with in her journal is this one: http://lovepotion.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=8852 Check out her others too because they've been a really great source of info and it might help answer many of the questions you have now. Hope it helps!!
  10. Donsie, and now you know the sniffies! Those little vials have found me some of my most favorite scents.
  11. Oh Donsie!!! How happy for you but what a tragedy that you lost those days. Enjoy your package. I'm thinking at this point you may be past travel shock!!
  12. I got a 60/40 spray of Lace and a Melodie's Lightness of Being. I was so happy to find one of those. I was really sad that I missed the chance when the PE came out and then I missed it again on someone's trade thread. I'm a happy camper. I'm afraid to go back though. And tomorrow... is February 1st!
  13. You might still try this one Rose. I could not wear Betrothal - way too floral. Even this month's rose was a little too much rose... but that happens on me. This is very balanced and once it dries (at least on me), the floral became a supporting player, not the soloist. It's very light and floral but I wouldn't say it's overpowering. If nothing else, you should at least try a trial. You absolutely hit this on the head. That is a really perfect description for this!!! Aw, thanks JD... that was perfect!!
  14. I'm glad I'm not the only one!! This being my scent of the day, I think I thought that after I rolled it on, I'd get that "ah yes, LP variant" type moment. This one completely comes across on me as jasmine, florals. The apricot is in there, I know, but it's well blended in the background. It's very bright, floral, fresh and clean. I can't usually wear florals if it's the main focus, especially rose, but something in this (the white musk?) keeps it from going overload on me. If I didn't have the bottle in my hand, I wouldn't think it was a variant, maybe more like Sneaky Clean or other bright and fresh type scents. It's maybe not my favorite but I think this one makes a great work scent since it came across light and stayed close to the skin once it dried down completely. I think I'll be using it in the same ways that I use Sneaky Clean - as an alternative to all my favorites which tend to be deeper and richer.
  15. I've had an interesting day with Cherry Divinity. Decided I was going to slather this baby on for day two of work. When I first rolled on, it was a striking scent: sweet cherry, a bit sharp, but followed quickly by a smooth warm white chocolate. It smelled so good, so edible. It stayed that way for about half an hour. However - and this happened the first time I tried it as well - there seems to be this point on me when it's no longer "wet" but not completely dried and melded when it turns a bit....stinky. I was going to say snatchy but I don't like that word. A teensy bit cheesy. I can't really describe it. It's ever slightly unpleasant. Curdled milk? I don't know but I hope you get the jest of it. That lasted from about 6am when we left for work until about 6:30 or so. After that, the stinky smell went completely away and although the cherry was very mild, almost relegated to second place behind the white chocolate, it didn't disappear any further. It's like there was a blast of foodie love, followed by mild stink and then it settled itself in for the day. It was definitely white chocolate with the mildest hints of cherry every now and then. I'll try this again after it's had some more time to settle here at home but I swear it has more mood swings than I do! I like the wet and full dry down scents enough that I can deal with the half hour of iffy.
  16. JD, I'm with you!!!! After having sampled everything yesterday and wearing a slather-load of Strawberry Cream Cake today, I really have to go back to this one and say that this one is going to be a FB. This, for me, is what a cross of my Jasmine Rain and Maiea's Year of the Snake PEs would smell like if you took both and shook them up. I love how lush and green this is, it's water and fresh, and the ozone does that tickle feeling to my nose like my Jasmine Rain does. It's funny how the ones I thought I would adore are great but its the sneak-from-behind ones like this that I'm thinking are my actual faves!! Where's Maiea: she definitely needs to try this stuff!!!
  17. I decided to try this one first today for work. I like it. The strawberry first comes across very fresh and ripe but not overly sweet. After it dried down, I could make out the vanilla and it mellowed out the fresh, green aspects for me. It's very light so it's not going to knock anyone's socks off. Definitely good for work. I'm not sure it's a love. I'm going to keep it, wait awhile and try again and see what I think. I do however think this is an awesome warm weather scent so I have no doubt it will be loved - if not now, then definitely come around April.
  18. I really like this one. At first, it seemed all orange spice and it sort of reminded me of Shelly's Winter Sweater... but spicier. Once it dried down, I could start to smell the notes mixing with the orange, spice died down quite a bit. I rolled some around 2 and I can still smell it a bit. On me now, it's a very gentle spiced orange almond. I could see wearing this on a beautiful spring day... like right now. LOL
  19. It's so strange. When I first rolled this on, there was instant lemon, instant maple. I couldn't picture for my nostrils before how JD described LemonMaple but after trying it, I can't think of a better description. What makes it strange though is that for the briefest of moments, it was almost like there was a hint of ozone. It could be the lemon because I agree with you Tyvey, it really does feel like lemon drop candies. It just struck me as momentarily... can't describe it, other-worldly? Like an unexpected breeze that catches your breath. After drying down, I got more of the maple than lemon but it still feels light and very close to my skin. I think the lemon is the star of this show but the maple gives it this real sense of balance.
  20. I just got my box and all I can say is that my head is going to explode from all the goodness that was inside. Usually I dab one, sniff, move on. I swear to you, I want to slather myself in all them... RIGHT NOW!!! I don't have enough room on my arms to try everything.
  21. O.M.G. I don't even know where to begin. I'm wearing this right now and even straight out of the box, this is coming across that a smooth white chocolate covered cherry cordial. It's sweet but smooth. The cherry is very mellow and the white chocolate smells so delicious and creamy. We'll see how it feels when it dries down and of course need to account for any travel shock but so far, on me, this feels close to the skin and so warm and soft. Unexpected LOVE.
  22. Me too Katz!! It's times like these when I'm actually glad I have Mondays off.
  23. Today is the day!!!! I am not wearing anything because I want a nice clean slate when it arrives and this is one that I got FB... actually two. I admit it. I love strawberries!! From the reviews, it sounds like this is going to be a major winner!!! Can't wait.
  24. JD, this sounds like a PERFECT summer scent. Dang it... almost got full bottle and stopped myself. *sigh* Well, we all know the routine...
  25. I'm with you NuTrix! I actually chose to only get a sample of this one because rose tends to wrestle everything else to the background so I wasn't quite sure about it yet. I'd love to hear how this wears on everyone.
