  1. Manifestation at the beach is yummy. It turns into a mermaid scent when you have the ocean rolling in the background, and adding that touch of salty seaweed.
  2. psst. Honeyed Seductions page is up. It's going to be a day (or two) of hawking the release pages.

    Dirty Sexy

Yes, I have to shake it too, or all I get is the dirt. (This happens with several scents, so I'm putting myself in the habit of shaking/rolling before application.)
  4. Okay, the money aspect of this one works. I had a short, outside [of work] project today, which is one of the reasons I decided to wear this potion. I'm glad I did. Apparently, the fellow running the project messed up his budget and started asking the rest of the crew if he could trade favors for a pay cut. He didn't even mention such a thing to me, and simply handed over the full amount I was promised, in cash, at the end. I am so glad to have this one in my arsenal.
  5. Hmm. Maybe I should try it after all. I have such lovely memories of violets.
  6. Heh. I think you mean Salomewilde. I haven't tried this one. The vanilla scared me away.
  7. In the bottle: a breath of herbal green, with a little bit of spiciness to texturize it, and something sweet. On, wet: The bayberry twines around my senses, with what smells like honey complementing it and making it decadent. Drydown: A lovely apple cider note comes through, keeping the honey sweetness from being too sweet. (More like the sharp honey of mead.) The herbal bayberry somehow keeps this from being too foody. ( I know, right? Herbs making it less foody? It does though; it's a little like a forest added into the mix.) This scent is incredibly sophisticated and expensive. It's like sitting on a plush, white leather chair in an expensive clothing store, while the shop girl assembles a collection of garments for you to try on. (Oh, and you're wearing gold pumps. ) Despite the gold pumps, I can definitely see this scent being worn by both men and women. It's got a great balance, so the honey smells rich without being too sweet for a man. (I could see this being a "his" scent to go with a "hers" of sugared honeycomb for people who are looking for pairings.)

Ahem. Emily Strange happens to be a goth, skateboarder chick with satanic cats. She has comics and even a book about her. She are serious role model. Bwahaha. Okay, I couldn't keep a straight face.

To me, this one is fruitier/rosier than RSW. It isn't exactly lighter on me, just a bit sweeter. In the bottle: Exotic Middle-Eastern incense and dusty silks. On, wet: This one totally blossoms. When it hits my skin, a rounded sweetness comes out, not unlike the merlot and roses combination that I love in Wine and Dead Roses, but with the added complexity of the Indian incense. Drydown: A little duskier, but still sweet and complex. (As opposed to RSW, which turns into feral dusky stank. This one is much more wearable for me.)
  11. Heh. What about re-doing the original, doing one with more honey, and doing one with another twist? You could call them: Blond, Brunette, and Redhead. (But then you'd have to decide which was which.)

Love ambergris, so maybe the civet. Though I didn't mind the civet in Nasty Habits at all, so I'm not sure about that. I will have to keep experimenting, how sad.
  13. Even if some people like Honeycomb better, clearly enough people like the original that you sold out as fast as you did. What was the general feel on the Phero boards about the scent? Did everyone there prefer the Honeycomb, or was it a mix?

Robin and Marian, I need to try again, because the first time it just turned to strong, unpleasant musk. That may have been due to the flu, or maybe I didn't shake it before application, so I can't speak to that one. Sabra on me is fairly light, so Nasty Habits is bolder. I don't have Artemis, so I can't compare to that. (Helpful at all? Not really, I'm afraid.)

I would put it on par with Dirty Sexy, for boldness. For lasting power, six hours after application it's still going strong in my cleavage, while my wrists are down to ambery residue. (My wrists always cycle faster, and are more likely to turn ugly musky, which this one doesn't at all.)

In the bottle: Oh my, I don't think I can wear this out of the house. On wet: Okay, I can maybe wear this to work. There is something dark and dirty, and something fruity. The dark and dirty is very similar to LP Black, but the fruits round out the scent, which is good for me, as Black often goes from good dark and dirty to "I clean chimneys," on me. (Fruity the way Dirty Sexy is fruity, so it's not an obvious fruit, just a fruity curvature to the scent.) Drydown: Now I can smell more of that vanilla, but the scent hasn't changed much from that dark/dirty, fruity, headiness. The difference between that first whiff in the bottle to having it on was very slight. I think just letting that fruitiness, and a little sweetness unfurl in the warmth of my skin took it to the right side of, "this is perfume," to be acceptable in public. In the bottle it was over that line and said, "The only perfume I still have on is what I didn't sweat off in the mad sexual romp I had right before I threw on some clothes and left the house." It is a very delicate line, and this scent rides it precariously, in the best of ways.
  17. What was that song, from Jekyll and Hyde the Musical? "And men are mad about my afternoon teas, they're quite informal, I just do it to please. Those triple sandwiches are my favourite ones. I'm also very partial to buns!"
  18. Heh. My first draft had a timeline of all the colors. Pink, breakfast in bed --> White, upscale brunch -->Green, sex for lunch -->Original, afternoon tea cakes --> Gold, classy dinner -->Red, evening clubbing --> Black, sweaty club at Midnight But doing the different kinds of comparisons made more sense, review-wise.

Really, this scent captures so much of the experience. Slather it on, sit in a leather chair, charge yourself $14 for a glass of champagne mixed with beer, and you've got it. (Ah, we lubs LA drink prices.)

Wow, just wow. In the bottle: sparkling, light, woody floral. On wet: Oh my. This was meant to be worn. (If it smells too light, or too delicate in the bottle, don't let that put you off. Try it on!) The floral is hard to pin down, it has the roundness of roses, the sweetness of honesuckle, and an uplifting citrus note. The other notes keep this from being a feminine floral, making it remeniscent of an old fashioned cologne recipe, but so much more vivacious. It has a, je ne sais quoi, which immediately conjures up one of my favorite bars. (No, it isn't just the label and description, there's a scent memory here too.) Drydown: Spicy, rich, still slightly floral, slightly citrus. Elegant, and a little bit wild. (On me, the red musk blooms more as time passes, but the scent is still wearable. Yay!) I really love this! It's flirty, fun, and captures the best of yester-year.
  21. In the bottle: this is definitely an LP, with that signature heavy vanilla, and sweetness. On, wet: Mmm. a thread of fresh greenery. It's as if the original Phero Boy crept inside LP Original. Fresh, but also strongly feminine, and very food/sex. Drydown: That fresh green does fade into a very light, fresh musk, as Mara has mentioned. The fresh cut greenery is gone, but still lightens this blend a little, making it fall somewhere between LP Original and LP White, as far as intensity goes. As for sexiness... if LP Pink is breakfast in bed, and LP Black is a sweaty night club, Green is sex on your lunch break.
  22. I love lemon, but lemongrass just hits me all wrong. In food, it's likely to make me gag. I hear it's a great natural deoderant though.
  23. I almost wore this one today. Hmm. Without doing a full, thoughtful review... This one smells very fresh and clean. On me, it's lemons and linen, with a bit of clean talc. Very soft and bright.
  24. *sigh* Oh how I miss rain. I've had enough sunshine to last a lifetime. I would gladly have rain every day from now 'til the end of my life.
