  1. I don't know what paperwhites are...had to go look it up. Okay, I find this to be a very clean, floral, slightly soapy scent. Yep, soapy--going against the last review a bit here. It almost seems to be a little too...too. I was worried that the tuberose would go ointment-y, though, and it didn't, so that's good.
  2. I tried this one last night. It was okay but not a standout, and then it just disappeared right away. It didn't take long at all. If I sniff my wrists really close, I get a faint whiff of "sweet," but that's about it. Maybe my sample is just too old. I'll probably put it in my bath to use it up.
  3. I find this to be very pretty, but not a standout. I had no idea it had pineapple in it; I thought it was all floral. So obviously very floral-leaning on me. I will happily use up my sample and then likely forget about it.
  4. This is the worst news I've heard today. And I've been on Twitter. Why do I only realize how much I love these once they're gone!? *sobs* This is just beautiful. I agree it's not really tropical. I would say it smells clean and pleasant. It's very delicate. I haven't been able to stop sniffing my wrists since I put it on. OMG I'm in love....waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! (that it's gone). *toddles off to add it to my wishlist*
  5. Did anyone recommend Candytuft Tea to @FlowerPower? I just kind of skimmed. I find that a tad bit similar. This is a very pleasant and pretty scent, but it doesn’t really stand out for me. And it’s soooo light! It also doesn’t last very long on my skin. Maybe I’m just not in a “tea” mood today, I don’t know.
  6. Ah, okay, thank you. ETA: I tried this again and somehow got an almost almond or cherry-like note out of it. ??? That's strange, right?
  7. I tried this out last night. It's so comforting! A manly scent, yes, but I think due to the powderiness, it works for women, too. Now I'm trying to remember what the scent of baby powder is. Is it oakmoss? Or tonka? What does tonka smell like? I'm conflating those two scents together in my head. I think this would be perfect with Teddy BB Potion. I think I will enjoy wearing it to sleep for as long as my trial vial lasts me.

    Trianon-Esque

I wore this the other night. It's beautiful! Very regal. I love that it's based on a perfume made for Marie Antoinette, too. I love historical stuff like that. This is such a pretty floral. I like it a lot. ETA: PS--I agree the civet is very mellow. I couldn't even really detect it until the next morning, and it was still very light. It just happened to be the most lasting scent.
  9. Oh, I adore this. I wish I'd been here when it was available. I find it comforting. It's a cozy scent. I want to be in a cabin in the middle of the woods with snow gently falling outside, wrapped up in a soft, fuzzy blanket with some kitty companions. Nothing to do but relax. Ahhh, this scent is like a mini-vacation.
  10. This is just beautiful! A gorgeous, floral, springtime scent. It reminds me a bit of Bonnie. As far as commercial perfumes, it reminds me a bit of White Shoulders. It's so feminine! I love it. I've had it all this time, and didn't realize how pretty it was. Do tulips actually have a scent? I've never noticed. ______________________________________________________________________ I'm wearing this again today. I've noticed two more things: It's stabbing me in the forehead a bit. Not bad. But a bit. Also, there's something fresh and almost watery about it. I wonder what is giving me that impression? Like rain on tulips.
  11. For some reason, at first this smelled like some sort of cookie confection. Unfortunately. it then turned a bit medicinal on my skin. Currently I feel I smell a bit like a cough drop. I don't think this one's for me; I found it too sweet in the vial, anyway.
  12. I'm probably going to update this post after it's had a chance to dry down a bit, but I put this on about 20 minutes ago, and I have some thoughts. For some reason, it reminds me of going on summer trips to Osoyoos, BC with my grandparents. Oddly, it also reminds me of a hair product that I can't quite place (Sun-In? Maybe?). It kind of gives me that "3rd eye" stabbing feeling, and it's interesting to know what everyone's been talking about all this time. My cat appears to love it. She has plastered herself to me and is purring madly. ETA: Okay, it’s been a few hours now. For some reason this turns into OFF! bug spray on my skin.
  13. This. is. incredible. Oh my god it's so pretty and fruity and happy and...it's like the Dewberry oil from The Body Shop (before they sold out to be corporate shills) got sprinkled with fairy dust and went to live in Happy Rainbow Sparkle Unicorn Land. It's gorgeous! Someone said it's an "airy, sweet summer morning pink," and I agree! I need a full bottle but I am currently strapped for cash. But one of these days...
  14. I wore this a couple days ago. It didn't turn plasticky on me, which was good, but I'm not sure I like it as much as the earlier version I reviewed. It turned a bit "dusty" on me. Still nice, though. It faded quickly so I had to reapply, but once I did it lasted a long time. A LOOONNNNG time (like I could still smell it the next morning).

    Delectable

I wore this one last night. I thought it smelled kind of smokey or burnt, and I even asked my husband what he thought of my perfume, and he said, "I dunno. It kind of smells like something's burning." But then later I could detect the floral underneath. It was weird. I am certain I've tried this before and it didn't do that, so I'm kind of at a loss. ??? Anyone have any idea? I think it was the milk/butter/cream note that we were interpreting as "burnt," but I'm not sure why that would be. I like the concept of this one. But if I'm gonna burn the milk, it's probably not for me. Unless...yeah, I don't know. The floral note is pretty! I'll probably try it another time to see if it does the same thing.

    EBIL-ish! 2018

I wore this last night. I think it's beautiful and feminine, in a "vintage 40s" way. My husband didn't like it; he said it was too strong. I think I liked the musk the most. Not so much the ginger. I didn't really get any clove.
  17. Wow, this one started out POTENT! Almost too potent...but then it settled down and became soft and pleasant. I like it, but honestly I think I like it for the name more than anything. I kind of just want to walk around randomly saying things like, "Laloo," "lalooodle---ey---hee--hoo!" "LalooooOOOooooo...." "LalOOoooOOOO?" I think the Popularity Potion is bringing out my inner goofball.

    Elfin Plum

I'm wearing this again today. It's still magical. Sweet, pillowy, plush, plummy deliciousness! Mmmm... I used up my trial vial and now I am sad. This is one I kind of wish I had a full bottle of.
  19. Sooo...if I had known from the start that this was supposed to be a "SLF" scent, I would NOT have applied it so liberally! My husband just asked me if a baby powder bomb went off in the house...no, darling, it's me. So as you may have guessed, this goes super-powdery on me. I get very sweet, powdery honey. It smells more "old lady tearoom" than "bawdy babe" to me, but it's pleasant enough. Actually it kind of reminds me of these fried cookies dipped in honey and dusted with powdered sugar that my grandma used to make. I don't mind it, personally, as far as honey scents go, but honey scents have never been my favourite to start with. And in this case, I put WAY too much on because I wanted to use up my trial vial. So, yes, a baby powder/honey bomb did kind of go off in here, I guess. Anyway, mission accomplished. Trial vial is used up. Yay?

    Garland

Sooo...is this the review thread for V5???
  21. Ah, just me, then. I usually search with quotation marks and "in content titles only." Thanks!
  22. I just saw the posts about the spelling. I didn't know cananga was another name for ylang ylang! How do you pronounce ylang ylang, anyway? Lang lang? Eee-lang eee-lang? Would it be possible to maybe add the way it's spelled on the label so that it can be found in search more easily? If not, that's cool...just a thought.
  23. I want to love this one (although maybe a little less now that I've sold my FB), but it turns...I don't know...dusty?...on my skin. I'm amping something sweet. Not sure if it's the caramelized sugar or the maple. Maybe both? Whatever it is, it's sort of irritating my eyes. Sooo I guess it's okay that I sold my FB to Eastwood awhile ago.
  24. This is so pretty! I used it last night to cover up Bewitching Hour (which was NOT for me!), and it worked very well! I wound up using up my li'l sample of it and I'm slightly upset about that, although I have the newer version too and it doesn't smell much different to me. :/ In my Grandma's garden, she used to grow Columbine flowers, and at some point she taught me that if you nibble off the little ends of the petals, you can then suck out the nectar. And it. is. delicious. That's what this reminds me of. It smells like the way that nectar tastes.
  25. Oh dear, I don't think this one is for me. There's something about it that I really don't like...not sure what it is. Maybe patchouli? As someone said above, I smell like dirty hippie, but unlike them, I do NOT like it. I'd go wash it off if I hadn't JUST bathed and I wasn't too lazy. I might try to cover it with something, though. It also kind of reminds me of the 80s and sadness. Like, when I was little and we visited my Dad, at least once we stayed in his girlfriend's house, and she made us sleep in her cold, grey basement. This scent reminds me of that for some reason.
