  1. Can you believe that I’ve never tried this? (the scented version)

I received a trial vial in my last shipment, and finally got around to putting it on yesterday.  It is not for me.  BUT, if the notes are ones that you think you’d like, absolutely try it!  It lasts and lasts.  And, even though it isn’t a strong scent, when I discovered it was going in a direction I wasn’t enjoying, I tried (twice) covering it with Cocoa Musk because it has this phero it it too.  Nope, cocoa musk disappeared, and scented Cuddle Bunny stayed very present.  This is quite interesting, because on its’ own, Cocoa Musk lasts on me for ages, and I truly love it.

I do like the UN version, and have a backup bottle even of it.

I can't compare this to previous versions but I recognize the same aspects in regards to its' appeal: that lushness of the tuberose framed by the fruit and underscored with the musk and vetiver.  So beautifully classy, I think it's especially appropriate for nighttime but would also be a great scent for the office or any occasion where you want to give off "a cut above the rest" kind of vibes.

Aww, you can’t compare it because your other versions were victims of the fire?  I hope so much that you’ll be settled again, in your rebuilt home, if you’re not already.

  3. @Kayla  I’m giving this another go, mainly thanks to what you wrote.  I went full bottle with this, but it was straight up cherries every time I tried it the first few days.  It reminded me most of the LE OCCO Cherry.  I’m hoping for some chocolate to show up.  And, I’ll update after I’ve worn it for a few days.

  4. I’m super excited to try Supra :)… and Pumpkin Lavender Donut, although I am skeptical.

It’s only because Mara created it, that I’m willing to give it a go.  How a pumpkin/lavender/donut combo  is something guys think smells sexy bewilders me. I get they like donuts, and pumpkin pie, and lavender is hard not to like, but all three together?

Poe de Crème might be right up my alley.

Some iterations of Flying Potion have worked for me, so I’ll have to try that.

Lover’s Gaze is a mystery. The label doesn’t have  autumnal or winter colors….

Mayhem, (presumably more masculine?) reminds me somehow of  Elementary, I think because of the books… maybe the scent of old dusty paper and pipe tobacco?

Dans L’Ombre  makes me nostalgic for when my hair was that “shade” (heaving a huge sigh)  No clue as to what the notes could be.

    Bat Cat… a take on Black Cat’s PE’s?

Vessel has such a creepy label, very unsettling 🙁 watch it turn out to be really so everyone raves about it, then I’ll have to try it for myself

  5. For me, this is the Velvet Kisses I could never wear!  I tried and tried with two editions of VK to no avail.  So finally, I’ve got a chocolate LP perfume with Cuddle Bunny!

This grows more powdery the longer it is on, but the chocolate does not exit completely for some time.  Toward the end, there is something about it  it that reminds me of Houbigant’s Chantilly.  It has been a long  time since I’ve actually smelled Chantilly, so I could be way off on that…

  6. I really love this!  It is not a clone of OCCO White in solid version.   The vanilla is more gourmand and sweeter.  It develops over time, and I wish the overall fragrance had more oomph!  It is perfect for an OCCO, because where the scent should emanate is from our warmer parts of the body.  If it was a simple non pheromone fragrance without the added copulins, I’d buy it in a spray!

It’s altogether lovely, and I’m glad I got two!  This one will surely disappear fast!

PS, I logged back in to edit this review because I forgot to mention how well the scent covers the cops!  It absolutely does, and could be used as a stand alone fragrance!  When I first apply it I get just a nuance of copulins, but then they   vanish.  Another perfect cover created by Mara!

  7. This year’s version has the additional note of almond, and the mandarin is noticeable, much more so than the previous edition.

Unfortunately for me, both of these notes  pretty much disappear after the first 20 minutes or so, and what is remaining does not agree well with my skin chemistry.  It is a shame, because I absolutely adore it for that first little while.  Eventually it becomes piercingly sweet on me.

I dug out a trial vial of 2021’s release, and they are not identical but very similar.

I feel left out that I can’t enjoy this, because it is so popular—legendary even among LPMP lovers.

Don’t go by review to rule it out!  I think I could wear it in a scent locket, and may have to resort to that.

  8. My samples came today!  Here’s my quick take :)

First off, OCCO Vanilla solid ( not a sample) is incredible!  It starts out smelling like a simple gourmand vanilla, the longer it is on, the more complex it becomes.   WINNER WINNER 💗

Odalisque I almost didn’t order because none of the “isque” versions have worked for me, just the “esque” (I hate autocorrect right now!)   Top notes were wonderful on me.  It was all vanilla, creamy white chocolate,   and mandarin. The orange became even more prominent and I began wondering how many I should order. Then….  the during next phase it morphed, the mandarin vanished, and I just wasn’t feeling the love. Hopefully this is due to travel shock.

Cocoa Musk was a surprise.  Much more silage than I’ve come to expect a chocolate fragrance to have.  It wasn’t overly sweet on me either, which is a good thing. The musk became more apparent, and it developed a powdery quality.  It is a grown up chocolate musk, not girlie IMO and I really REALLY like it!  CB is a favorite, so double win/win.

Orchidee Sensuelle is quite tropical on me.    My nose didn’t pick out the banana specifically.  I like it, but I’m not overly drawn to this category of fragrance.

I didn’t put any of the new Beewitched on, (ran out of places I could easily touch my nose to haha)   In the vial it does smell differently than the Beewitched from last year’s release.

I also didn’t try My Belle, but will within the next couple of days.

I likely won’t be able to resist wearing Cocoa Musk and OCCO Vanilla, but the others I ordered, I’ll let rest for a few days before trying them again.

  9. @Potion Master I love that quote 💗

The labels are beautiful.  BTW  I’ve been following the new photo releases by NASA from the James Web telescope.  So much out there we can’t see!

I was so excited when I saw Hot Cherry, but then when I scrolled down, there was no Wild Cherry counterpart. 😕 Is the men’s fragrance similar?  I could absolute go phero free!

And yay! Beewitched again!  And a solid vanilla 😊 I’m wondering about Cocoa Musk… Can’t wait to read the notes.

  10. @greenappletart right?  I have a couple different trial sizes of perfumes I’m just sure will work once they age long enough.  So far it hasn’t happened.

As to Red Rum, the longer it ages it has become more masculine.  This was not expected, but hey, it happens.  I rarely reach for it any longer, but would absolutely love smelling it on a guy.

  11. Mara, you outdid yourself again!  I like that you gave us so much detail and history. Pendulums and how they are use was especially interesting.  AND I personally love the one you’re wearing! I’m like “ooh I want that because of the little bird”    (I understand this is yours, not one you’re selling).  It’s beautiful.

  12. @luna65 Something you and your son will find of value is any photos you can dig up of your house, inside or out,  Probably even Google maps has a street view picture of it.

I did not lose my childhood home due to any sort of disaster, but both of the houses I remember best from my childhood are gone.  My grandparents home that they built themselves in the 1920s was razed to put an apartment building on.  I had so many fond memories of it, the spanish tile roof, stucco exterior… a very typical Miami home from that era.  It was actually worse for me to see it gone, than to just know that it was.  As an adult I was visiting south Florida with a friend, and we drove over there. It made me only sadder. Then, my parents home, that they also built (my dad using the GI bill after the end of WWII) was demolished maybe two years ago.  I’ve not been there yet, but I made the mistake of looking on google maps and saw the barren lot, just a bit of a low coral rock wall that my mom had built when she was expecting my big brother was all  that remained.  All this to say, relatives might have some from family gatherings, your son’s friends might have some.  And of course there’s the cloud now, You might have photos saved there that were taken in your home. Our nature is to want to be able to remember our roots,  and if a person has moved a lot during their childhood, then their memory “roots” are well traveled.  But for someone who had just one house they called home always, it is a significant loss I think.

My heart aches for you and your son, and I hope time does heal for both of you.
