  1. Love the stuff. Whenever there's a bit of unpleasantness requiring a lift, so to speak, this helps me rise above and catch my breath.
  2. Oh, so sad to say the patch came raging forward on my skin, totally overwhelming all the rezt of the beautiful notes. I will try this in Mara's scent locket. Perhaps without my skin interacting directly with the patch, the perfume can blossom as it is meant.
  3. Let me preface my next staement by saying ,"Not in an old lady way." This scent reminds me of my mother. Let me explain. Every Tuesday evening was date night for my parents (weekends were spent either helping on grandpa's farm, running errands, or taking kids to ballet, voice class or guitar lessons), and every Tuesday afternoon, my mother went to great efforts to transform herself from "stay-at-home mom" to "the girl he married". She had only two perfumes, and my favourite (although I didn't know it at the time), must have had orchid as a defining note. Mom would disappear into their bedroom, where we could hear her humming or singing in the shower. An hour or so later, she'd emerge, glowing and dressed to the nines. Dad would arrive, throw open the door, and bellow out his best rendition of "What's New, Pussycat", and away they'd go, just the two of them, on an adventure. As the door closed, mom's perfume would linger, preserving the moment. It seems only appropriate this scent would contain orchid, and would be graced with a cat label. The scent is compelling, creating that 'come a little closer and tell me your secrets' aura. I can't help but imagine a silken, amethyst-coloured cloud. Everything is filmed with a soft-focus lens. Romance..
  4. Stacy, on me the cumin is so light it only adds a touch of sizzling warmth..no scent to speak of, except just the slightest hint of spice. This is fantastic! Fruity and floral forward, balanced and weighted by warm mahogany, ginger, and nearly undetectable cumin. I typicalky cannot wear something like freesia~instant headache~ but I'll be danged if this doesn't knock my socks off, Mara! This is so fresh and juicy, but I would say it could go day to night in an instant. The vetiver adds a velvety depth without ever landing in a powdery category. The warmer the scent becomes, the less citrus forward it is, but the the juicy quality remains. It almost ends as fresh papaya ginger. I am crazy for this one. Just another instance in which I never in a million years would have tried this on purpose, but I certainly am glad I did. Amazingly good!
  5. This goes on exactly as it is scented in the vial. Clouds of creamy, dreamy white chocolate clouds with a hint of sweet candied cherry. As the scent warms and blooms, the faintest whiff of amber comes through, but never comes, forward. This is a skin scent for me, one that the hubby will need to cuddle me close to catch. My guess is he'll think I've been baking all day when he discovers Cherry Divinity.
  6. You're adorable. I did not see the leaky notice. Gave Harrison two bottles of Watson, which seem to be fine. In case that changes (can't imagine it would), I have a couple of older empty bottles. Will the old lids fit? If so, I'll just do the old switcheroo. No worries here, lovey.
  7. Upon application this is a 'spaucy' (spicy + saucy) carnation. The guy wearing the proverbial "white sport coat and a pink carnation" is in the house. The scent is not overwhelming, but it is unmistakable, pure in approach. There is something that gives this the same feeling that I get from Aja~a tickly-sultry feeling from the tip of brain pan to the roof of my mouth. It may be the cardamom lending the fully rounded and experience, with every note perfectly balanced. At about three hours in, everything but the carnation steps back. I'm left with the vision of the kids dancing a little too close for comfort. The carnation crushed gently against tossled hair. As the last dance winds down, the white sport coat lands protectively around a pair of 1950s bare shoulders. The pink carnation slips into a clutch bag. The car windows begin to steam up. Somewhere, in a cloud of upended, starched crinolin, he whispers, "I promise..." and it sounds like chivalry on a white horse.
  8. This goes on all amber spice. Slowly, the honey emerges, maybe 45 minutes in, and around an hour and a half after application the buttercream/coconut takes center stage. Love the soft finish.
  9. a resting beat, an ethereal shimmer, a sigh
  10. So, Halo, is this the carnation you've been craving?
  11. Lainey, I completely get your addiction. Tropical Musk/Velvet and Steel is one of three perfumes and one PE that became immediate signature scents, and were purchased as multiple bottles. I am going to be saddest camper on the planet when it is gone. Mara has rebrewed the scent three times now, I think, including the introduction as a PE. Personally, Tropical Musk is a scent I'd love to see in the permanent collection. It covers a couple of the pheros beautifully, and it wears well year 'round. People always ask what perfume I'm wearing, where it came from, and what smells so good..every time. It wears light but lingers, and is so warm. It can go from work or grocery day to date night, and to black tie dinner parties. Have worn it in every setting. At a charity event, I wore it with Balm Bomb, because the couple we were to be seated with are know-it-all snobby buttheads. Cannot abide that, so I added a bit of help for the evening. All night..yammer yammer "name dropped" this purchase. Yammer yammer "this country is falling apart because of.."(pick any topic that insults you. She covered them all). Anyway, Mrs. Snobby Butthead followed me to the ladies. The second we entered the room, she HAD to know what perfume I was wearing. I told her (Velvet and Steel). She'd never heard of it. So, I told her it was LPMP, and created by a very talented nose. She HAD to have some..HAD to have some. "My husband is CRAAAZY for it! How much? How much was it? Not that I care." I told her, even showed her the bottle, wrote down the name of the company, and let her try it. Thought she was going to lose her mind. That was in June, just before the name changed to Tropical Musk. Haven't seen her since. I know I'm tempting fate, but if you think I am going to tell that woman to search for this magickal elixir under a new name..Hell No! I will gladly make up Mara's losses by purchasing Mrs. Snobby Butthead's bottles. Besides, between Seajam, you and myself, Mara needs to brew a bathtub full day and night. Bless her. Here's to the scent that turned me into an LPMP addict, to the woman who brews it, and to all the kindred spirits out there who who join us unashamedly..with the exception of Mrs. Snobby Butthead. Cheers!
  12. Hmmmmm, I think the collective 'we' can relate to the, uh, "I can't stop myself" issue.
  13. Wow! This one is a zinger! Love it. Refreshing, bright, juicy from the get go. Berries at the start and berries at the end. The spruce, Peppermint and Eucalyptus are perfectly balanced with each other, and with the berries. This is sipping sipping berry elixir along a snowy evergreen-lined path. Wonderful!
  14. Crap! Just realised this thread was in the phero area. Reboot! Seaside Sizzle with Aja Patience Potion with Balm Bomb Star Power with Popularity Flying Potion 2015 with Levitation Mother's Little Helper..some days you just gotta have it.

    Bad Elf

This little elf can come sit on my shelf all year long as far as I'm concerned! Makes me want to have a heavy Stout and a Bear Claws for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Richah-liciousness!
  16. I pulled out a sample vial and had a sniff of summertime this morning. Oh, this is even better with age? How can that be when it was already perfect?
  17. I needed to wait and sample before going fb. Relatively certain the Creamy Honey is going to be yet another scent 'I can't live without'..can't.
  18. Oh, why was I fretting? This is so serene. The lavender is sweet and soft. The Oakmont and Musk create a fuzzy cloud. Pardon me whilst I enjoy a wee nap.
  19. This is lush. I love the rich, buttery cocoa. The marshmallow adds the pillowy soft sweetness. Oh, but the myrrh. Oooolahhhlahhhh

    Merry! 2015

Admittey, I did not get an opportunity to try the original Merry. I am quite happy to give this newer Merry a two thumbs up review. The eggnog and berry are a perfect balance of luxurious warmth and bright burst of refreshment. I do get the depth of the warmth, and it has staying power. The berries are a standout without being loud. The also have staying power, but tone down the longer I wear it. Have thoroughly enjoyed this sample.
