  1. Lol, Mr Scrumptious keeps reminding me to check the forum on my iPhone. He's used to me anxiously & impatiently pacing the flat with iPhone in hand at the end of each month Isn't he too sweet?
  2. Are we there yet? I'm getting impatient...I want to do some LP shopping, I've got some celebrating to do and what better way to do that then getting me some more LP goodies eh?
  3. Beccah, if you're doc had been blessed with communication skills he could have explained to you the real reason why they gave you the pitocin. I don't need to go into loads of medical detail to give you the reasons why, but I can promise you they didn't do it just for shits and giggles. For someone with that medical history, having been symptomatic throughout the pregnancy, you having a large baby which had compromised the arterial supply...lets put it this way, if I had been there (as your friend rather than doctor), and you refused the injection, I would have smacked you and held you down to let them give it to you.... If one of the main arteries to the uterus is compromised, your risk of rupture is really high, and if that happens you bleed out in just a few minutes. Post-partum (just after or during childbirth) bleeding from arteries tend to be torrential and are extremely difficult to stop, so it would have been a "brave" doctor to not give it to you. I do understand your arguments for not having any pitocin, but they should have given you all the information & explained why it was really important for you to have it.
  4. Xev is correct. Oxytocin would be useless as a phero product. Not only is there a big difference between pheromones & hormones, but Oxytocin also has a very short half life of about 3 minutes or so...but it only works if it's within the blood, it's not carried in the air (which Xev correctly pointed out). The injected form of oxytocin is used quite a lot with in obstetrics; it's given IV eg. to induce labour if there is failure of progression, or in emergency situations where there is uterine haemorrage. Oxytocin acts to stimulate contractions in the uterus amongst other things. The companies who have Oxytocin as an ingredient clearly don't understand the science behind phero's....or hormones for that matter. Just think about it...IF oxytocin in phero products really did have an actual physical effect on the wearer or those near him/her, then the companies would be under strict licensing laws (just like prescription medications are) because you would be dangerous to any pregnant woman you were near.
  5. Ohhh......It's that time again! YAY!! I've been such a good girl too and not jumped the shop & bulk bought OCCO Ambrosia when the second batch came out. I'm actually quite proud of myself and my selfcontrol for being able to wait until this months new releases

    Melted Dream

I like this one quite a bit. I was hoping I'd love it but at the moment it's not completely doing it for me. It may change though obviously because it might smell different on me when I next try it or it might grow on me I don't get as much cream from this one which is why I'm slightly disappointed. I get much more orange. It's not a tart or fake orange scent though. Very yummy, orange candy scent. I just wish it was a bit more like the orange version of those yummy, round hard strawberries & cream candies (the white & pink swirly ones)

Oddly enough I don't get any floral notes from this one, and I tend to amp floral scents to nauseating levels but not with this one. On me this doesn't smell much like what you'd expect from reading the scent description. I think I'm probably amping the champagne note or something similar to that because what I get is something that is very much reminiscent of those clear soaps (glycerine?) that used to be sold loads when I was younger. Don't get me wrong, the scent is by no means "soapy" smelling, but it does to my nose smell just like the lemon scented glycerin soaps, maybe (with a slight stretch of my imagination) with a vague or soft non-specific floral in the background. It's a clean and fresh lemon scent, not one that makes me think of lemon scented cleaning products. It's probably not a scent that I personally would wear much, but it's definitively nicely done. A fresh and summery scent, that I can imagine would be worn really well by younger women or girls
  8. This one definitely didn't work for me, but then I didn't think it would. Still... I always try all my LP goodies as they arrive, it would be blasphemy not to LOL I don't get any vanilla with this one which is a shame, I think it may have been a lovely scent (for those who like florals) if there was a touch more of the vanilla to soften and/or sweeten the scent. I get mostly lilies from this, and I have never been very good with lilies. They for some reason just smell very sharp and overpowering on me, and then there's that powdery thing going on in the background which I'm also not a huge fan of. This one on me screams lilies on a background of powder. I can see how floral scent lovers would adore this one but sadly it's just not a Rosebud scent
  9. I do get a touch of sweet and fresh pumpkin initially when first applying the perfume but it doesn't last long. Instead there is a lovely note of bake apple sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar that reminds me of my childhood. My dad used to make this super easy but drool-worthy dessert all the time
  10. Welcome to the forum Fishpie. I'm in the UK as well, but I have to say I don't agree with you about the postal charges. I think you'll find that they are extremely competitive compared to many other overseas websites, or compared to what it would cost you to send equivalent parcels from the UK to the States. I think you'll struggle to find other companies that would ship your order as trackable international priority mail for only $13. Mara actually only charges the bare minimum and sometimes also a heavily discounted postal fee to what it would cost to send glass bottles overseas. On top of that she's also always very generous to her customers with giving 2 free full-sized samples per month, along with the smaller "sniffie samples" that she tends to include with your orders. Anyway... if you're struggling with money why not try some of the items you listed in sample sizes rather than buying the full sized bottles? You mention you don't want to waste your money so want to make sure what you buy will be the right phero's for you..... Well, the thing is you can't know for sure how the particular phero will suit you, or how it will suit your intended target. The only way to find that out is by trying the product If you want to try phero's that don't come in sample sizes you can always see what you can find in the trading post Alot of members list their unloved goodies there for swap or sale, it's always a great place to start to try out new perfumes and phero's
  11. I'm on the fence about this one which is such a disappointment for me I don't dislike it, but I don't love it either, and I was expecting this one to be my new substitute or alternative to Whoopsie Daisycake but it's definitively not that. I don't get any floral at all, but I don't mind that at all. Initially when wet I get the same lush buttery, creamy vanilla-cake goodness that I get with Whoopsie, but this is quickly taken over by a note that I amp to crazy levels. It's very very similar to E's Crystallized Sugar Web (old PE), so I'm wondering if it's Benzoin or something similar? Or a "benzoin-like" maple note... Whatever it is I amp it like crazy, it's almost making me feel a bit sickly before full drydown & the scent has settled a touch. After the scent settles some it's not too bad, but it's definitively still a scent that has been hijacked by me amping the benzoin like note/s
  12. Yeah, I love B2. I use it when I can't sleep or when I'm upset/emotional. It calms me and eventhough it's not making me drowsy it does seem to settle me when I can't sleep (usually when I'm all hyper from strees)
  13. OMG! That's probably the last thing I'd ever do! LOL I can't think of anything worse than using Focus Potion at the dentist...I'd be focusing on what was going on and on how terrified I was.... I'd be more likely to slather in Tranquility Potion and top that up with a bit of Valium if I had to force myself to put my butt in the dentist chair
  14. I have ADHD as well (on meds for it) and i used Focus Potion I think 2 years ago during exam preparation that I was oding. I did find it helpful initially, but the closer I got to D-day, the more I used Tranquility instead. I struggle to control my ADHD when I'm anxious, so for me personally alleviating the anxiety (which realy disrupted my ability to focus) using Tranquility, was more beneficial than using Focus Potion towards the end.
  15. OMG!!!! I'm in LUUURVE.... This is a foodie scent lovers dream! It's sooo lush! For me it's right up there with Velvet Kisses & Constant Cravings... Snuggly & sexy at the same time
  16. I'm not sure about this one. For some reason I thought it was a cakey floral scent so I got confused when all I could smell was maple & nutty notes... DOn't get me wrong, it's a nice scent, but for me it's more of a winter "snuggle in front of the fire" type scent than a wedding cake one
  17. OMG! I LOVE this! I didn't think I would but it's lush! I'm so upset I didn't get a bottle, my li'll sample isn't going to last long Please, please tell me there will be a re-brew or that this will become a permanent OCCO?
  18. I don't understand??? It's May 26th already.... Pretty please???
  19. I was just wondering the same myself....surely it must be time eh? Sadly, patience isn't one of my virtues....
  20. I love the re-brew of Sogni. To me it's pretty much identical to the first brew. I get the same creamy, fluffy vanilla marshmallow with just the slightest hint of aniseed in the background. I haven't compared the two next to oneanother yet though. The re-brew seems to burn off a bit quicker than the original, though it may just have been because I tried it after gettibg home from work after spending the whole day in theatre so my hands & arms were stripped off all natural oils from all the washing. I'll re-test again with more moisturizers on board & comparing to the original
