  1. Hey KrazyKat! Lonnnng time! So, I haven't tried this one, but to me Black Candy has a very dominant violet note in it. I think it's actually more like Cocked and Loaded, having smelled both of them. They are both dark, unisex (to me) violet perfumes. Cocked and Loaded has no anise though, it's Woody. This one here, I think is supposed to be more along the lines of Mara's Domino, if you ever tried that one. That was licorice and marshmallows, this is licorice and honey, but they seem like they might be similar to me just by judging the notes and concept.
  2. Wellllll. I got my first sale order a few days ago and it's AWESOME!I got CRAYONS: Indigo(so creamy, powdery and beautiful!) Totem: Tiger Totem: Bear Totem: Bunny Totem: Raccoon Spring Fever Blackstone Kitten Heels Pixie Dust Annnnd I don't have sale order #2 yet, but it's Totem: Dolphin Totem: Elephant Totem: Lion The Sand Box Nectar de L'amour Candytuft Tea Gitana Rihla Are you Afraid of the Dark Annnnd. I'm so so happy with the first sale order that I'm debating a third. Cause, well, I have enough left in my fun budget. I was gonna try a few things from Fyrinnae cause they just came out with perfumes and I love thier makeup already, and another etailer too, BUT the LP sale is only once a year. Those other sites are always gonna be there. Logic. I'm waffling though. But we all know I'll probably just go for it,haha.
  3. What's this still doing here, haha? It's kind of a tough one to describe, but Halo has it nailed saying that it's commercial-like. It totally is! Like... Ok, if I think of the "word" perfume as an archetype, that's what Totem Tiger smells like to me. It reminds me very much of a few of the big heavies from the 80's and 90's. Estee Lauder Spellbound, Hermes 24 Faubourg and even Dior Poison come to mind. This is dialed down lower than those, but the composition is very similar to me. Actually, even better because all those dear classics have been reformulated into shadows of themselves, and unless you spring for the vintages, your better off forgetting it. Tiger is scorching hot and slinky. Super sexy and commanding, but also approachable. The notes are pretty hard to pick out because it's such a well blended perfume. I get Carnation front and center, and the zing of passion fruit on top, but really, it's just so well blended that it is masterful...and harder to pick apart than most. I see the hype here. This one, Soie et Foururre and a few others really prove to me what LPMP as a "House" is capable of, and it's Magical. Creating something this well balanced, with so many notes and still adhering to the overall concept without smelling discordant in any way takes TALENT. Again, I'm just really suprised this one is still here!
  4. This is excellence! It's probably my favorite sale purchase so far. How is this still here?! It's so sumptuous! It reminds me a bit of LP Bittersweet, but with the addition of juicy delicious black cherry. It's gourmand, but perfumey enough to not be too foodie, which can come off as a little juvenile to me. I like foodies now and then but this is so much better to me. The resins and the 'darkness' of the edible notes keep the sweetness in check. It's sweet, but a deep, slow, velvety kind of sweet. And it throws! And it lasts!! It lasts a long time, YAY! The coffee is divine in here too, like the coffee in Encens de Cafe and Bittersweet, just DIVINE! The chocolate is full bodied(at least 70% cocoa, haha)and you can just picture it melting slowly in your mouth. The currant is perfumey, not sharp or sour.I don't know if there's any musk, but the long drydown is a dark cherry chocolate musk on my skin. Delicious, but in a very grown woman (or man!, Yeah, I think so!) kind of way. If your waffling on this, DO NOT. ETA: In the long drydown, I catch little wisps of rose now and again. I'm guessing one of the resins has a rose facet to it. Maybe a component of some kind of attar or something used. Whatever it is, it works. It's a Lovely accent.
  5. Loving this! Opens with an intense Woody top, mainly a bracing and photorealistic MAHOGANY note that rather swiftly turns to a blend of loamy soil and woods. There's a sweetness lingering in the background but it doesn't come forward for a while. When it does emerge, the honey and nuts sweeten up the whole deal, but the lovely deep Brown woods never go away, they just shift positions with the sweeter stuff. Musk becomes more pronounced too, fuzzy and slightly animal, like a grizzly bears soft fur. Lasts a long time this way, but not too loud. Totally unisex. Very grounding and centering, I think you could even use this as a courage potion of sorts when you feel overwhelmed. Oh, also the peanut is scant. Certainly nothing to fear here. I think maybe that note put some people off from it, but there's no need for that. I'm loving these totems so far. I know everything is brewed with intent at this house, but a few collections seem to go above and beyond the norm like these totems, the tarot oils, the 'treasure of' oils and the Crayons. They seem to have an extra dose of magic in em, at least to me.
  6. Thanks Halo! The mummy I was thinking of is called La Doncella. I don't know how to do links, but if you Google her, the articles are interesting, if not a bit sad.
  7. I still love this one. I just read "Life and Death; Twilight Reimagined" and finished it today, so I was in the mood to wear this tonight. The story isn't quite as good as original Twilight, but then I'm pretty biased I guess,ha! Yep, still love the Twilight, ten years later! But you know what this reminds me of? It's the Lisa Frank Poster of the Perfume World! It's all these dewy, sparkly bright flowers in flaming pink, blue and yellow with hyper juicy honeyed berries on a shiny purple background. It's sooooooooooooo Spaaaarkly, and Pretty. The girliest scent in town. It's darling and I love it still! I know it's been redone, and I haven't tried the new version, but this is delightful!
  8. I think it's time to bust out the Coca leaf again! This is phenomenal! I've loved it for a very long time and now I think it's almost gone (unless I have another one? Must take inventory!). I feel like the ingredients in here are so very unique. It smells like being in the hot steamy jungle, somewhere in South America. Your hiding in the trees watching a Mayan Ritual. Copal and Palo Santo are burning in offer to the goddess. If anyone has seen that mummy..it's a Mayan (maybe Incan? I would need to check)Girl. She was found with two other children on top of a mountain in ice, perfectly preserved, down to the remnants of chewed Coca leaf in her mouth and a belly full of booze. These children died as sacrifice to the old God's. They were intoxicated and brought up a mountain to die in the snow. This perfume makes me think of a scene like that...the scene leading up to such a thing. It's incredibly beautiful, even a little creamy, but with a green depth and a real 'magic' to it. It sounds kind of silly, but I'll tell you anyway. I will only wear this potion during daylight. I wore it at night once, and while I was trying to get my daughter to sleep, rocking her, I kinda "tranced out" is the only way I can put it. My air conditioner started to sound like chanting or something. It weirded me out and now I'll only wear it in the daytime! Ha, seriously. Real power here. Beautiful power!
  9. Yeah this is one of the most bizzare LP scents that I've ever tried. It's a basement all right! An old creepy, crumbling concrete basement that mayhap flooded a time or two in it's life. It's very much intensly THAT for the first half hour at least. Then it certainly sweetens up a little bit and becomes a more wearable musk. It's a little creepy, for sure! Two samples of this have found thier way to me, so I likely won't be needing a bottle of it, but for reading a great ghost story on a stormy night, you could do no better!
  10. For those who knows: I don't really use pheros these days all that much, BUT if a scent I want has them in it, all good and cool. And sooo, Lucero looks good to me. It looks like it will smell awesome. It's in a threebies pack in the sale. But it has Charisma in it and I'm not a guy. So I'm wondering is there any reason why a lady COULDN'T wear Charisma? I'm certainly not looking for any hits , I just wanted to be sure it won't throw me off somehow. I've never worn a specifically male phero before. If anyone knows, let me know. Thanks!

    Hello!

Hello and WELCOME Kayla! Your avatar is beautiful! I think you'll love it here. I am on a few perfume forums, but this is definitely the nicest, friendliest and most unique! Welcome to the LP family!
  12. Another oldie but goldie. I'm so glad I hung on to one of these! It smells like money. Dirty money. And unwashed sex. And booze. And vetiver! It really seriously and wholly embodies what it's supposed to. A slightly road worn hooker in an old west saloon and her maybe not so gentile gentleman caller. It's strong and lasts forever. It's perfect! A different take, if you had no idea what this was called? Sexy library scent. There's definitely old PAPER in here, and leather and wood. Smells like old books, for anyone who's been searching that out. That vetiver and honey smutty it all up though. Maybe sex in an old study, haha. I don't know. I miss scents like this one though. Strong and totally different. They still come along of course, but not nearly enough for me!

Thanks JOC! It's probably just like that. If it doesn't stay on you, it probably won't on me either. But that's ok! There's PLENTY of other scents in the sale that I want, haha!
  14. This looks nice...tell me, will Charisma make me want to climb mountains and chop down trees? just kidding. Seriously though, is there any actual reason a woman couldn't wear this phero? Because the scent itself looks very nice to me. I like masculine stuff alot lately.

    976-GIRL

Aww! My very first LP! 2009! Awwwwww! Well here I am, eight years older and actually even a bit wiser, haha. I'm wearing this one tonight. It's still great. Deeper, smokier and delicious as ever. Now that I half ass know what I'm talking about when it comes to perfumes, I can tell you that there's a boatload of frankincense in here off the cuff, and it's giving it a bright lemony top note. Deeper in, ginger, smoke and LOTS of Champa. This one's great,I remember it was meant to evoke a 'sultry voiced' phone sex operator with all the smoke and smooth resin. If this was ever rebrewed, I would jump all over it. The label is great too. A red haired pin up girl in a green dress on the phone. I was so enamored with that label the first time I saw it. Ah, memories!

JOC, or anyone else.. Almond Musk is like one of my favorites ever, and I'm on an almond kick right now. But I don't like perfumes that dissapate quick. Almond Musk has been called a skin scent, but to me it totally isn't, it sticks around and wafts about for hours and hours. Is this like that too? Or is it really just that light to where you have to snoof your arm to smell it after an hour? I don't dig that. I'm planning my sale order, so anyone who knows, holla back Thanks gang!
  18. This is a great perfume for this time of year, ie;high summer, especially those humid, balmy nights. It's definitely lupine, and far lighter than these notes would lead you to believe just by looking at them. The main players to pop out at me are leather, smoke and red musk. I don't read anything blue floral but there's a cool sweetness to it that does make it quite unisex. There's a fluidity to this. I sort of see a seventies reference to scents more like Charlie original or Cachet, but it's more evocative, to me anyway of the actual animal. A furry, musky shapeshifter slinking through a hot night with a high full moon in the sky and campfires burning in the distance. Very nice! Im sure this visual is influenced by what this IS, but it certainly captures it's intent wholeheartedly!
  19. Hi Mara. Do I have any points? I think maybe? I can't remember. Thanks!
  20. Don't apologize! You are The Busiest Lady of All Time, haha. I'm just looking forward to this new site of yours when it launches!
  21. Hey Mara! Just curious what all your soap varieties are, and do you make a sea salt or scrub bar at all? I'm thinking of ordering some b&b from you soon. Also, just a suggestion, but I think you should add your b&b stuff to the etsy shop too. It would fly out the door I bet. Not like you aren't busy enough, I'm sure!
