    Fest of Fools

Not sure if I should be writing a review of one that I think is sold out, but here goes! (Oh, and I'm not sure if this goes here, since this is amped with MX283, whatever that is..) In the bottle, I didn't really like the smell at all. It smelled kind of like cough syrup. However, almost immediately after I rolled some onto my wrist and spread it around, the scent changed. The apple really came through. Right now, it's a soft fruit scent with a kind of perfume-y background. I am very pleased with the change! It never ceases to amaze me how the scents morph and twist.
  2. This scent is really sweet, and very rich. For some reason I was under the impression that I didn't like patchouli, but I have absolutely loved every Love Potion blend that has it in it. This has a lovely depth to it.

    Scarlet Silk

I wasn't sure quite what to expect, but I ended up getting a subtle, sweet, and clean scent. I don't think it was powdery on me (and I think my skin might bring that out in a lot of scents), and even though it wasn't listed in the ingredients, it smelled a little like berries or fruit to me. I like it.
  4. Aw, I thought the L-R pair was pretty catchy, but if no L words whatsoever are working for you, maybe, um, Lor's Wanton Wafted Wiles? Haha, I don't know.
  5. Welcome! I have sampled a few Love Potions, and the Red is definitely one of my favorites, if not my number one so far.
  6. Wow, I really liked this scent, but on looking at the ingredients, none of the scents I thought I could smell are actually in there! To me, it was a nice, sweet, apple-cinnamon perfume. Weird. Maybe my nose doesn't work...

    Eve's Temptation

The apple and mango come through really strongly at first-- it makes me want a mango lassi! When it dries down a little, the mango is just a hint at the end of the smell. Very nice, very subtle. Edit: After more time, it's a sweet musk (it smells like vanilla to me, even though that's not in the ingredients-- maybe it's the marshmallow root?) with just a hint of pear. I love the evolution of Love Potions! I keep sniffing my arms.

    Pithivier

I really like this one-- I may have to get a full bottle at some point. On me, the chocolate scent and berry scent vie for dominance, and I am pleased whichever one wins!
  9. I'm pretty much a newbie here as well, but welcome!
  10. I totally forgot it was a new month, so I could order more while still keeping my promise to myself. I did, however, spend more than I had planned. But I couldn't bring myself to get rid of anything. I got a phero-amped bottle of Fest of Fools, a bottle of Beth's Blushing Milkmaid, and for my sample vials I asked for Mothership, Wax Poetic, Chain of Love (is that what it's called, or is it Eternal Chain? Whoops... Shouldn't have done that one from notoriously unreliable memory), or a surprise! Wheee!
  11. Maybe this is just me, but it seems like Cuddle Bunny has a more 'traditional' perfume scent to it. I like it! It has a nice, clean, floral scent to it, both in the bottle and on my skin. It kind of reminds me of a Ralph Lauren perfume a friend gave me for Christmas a few years ago. But that perfume sometimes makes me sneeze, and this one doesn't. I better go before I'm late for work.
  12. The labels are always gorgeous! Fitting, for such wonderful perfume.
  13. This has a really sweet, complex scent in the bottle. The vanilla really comes through, which I love. On my skin, the spices come through more. I can't get over how much I love this scent! But I can't decide whether or not it's my favorite of those I've tried so far. I can't wait to try more!
  14. Disclaimer: I am a n00b to scents. I decided to go with my sample vial of PheroGirl for my second review, but it was a hard choice! I shook it up-- the bee pollen looks cool suspended in the oil. In the vial, it smells sweet, and a little powdery. On my skin, I think the orange comes out a little more... but it smells a little strange, almost like... cough syrup? Maybe that powdery smell is the copulins? I noticed it in the Jouir De, too. After the drying time, the scent has mellowed a lot, and the honey scent really comes through, with a hint of orange and something that smells like a light blossom... Kind of an incensey, soapy scent. So far, both the scents I've tried remind me of this little Pagan/mystical store I used to go to, called Triple Goddess. It's nice. I really like this scent!Sweet, and subtle.
  15. I wore Jouir De to work today, and I think I might see where the people who said it smelled like diaper were coming from-- I think it might be the powder scent. Do diapers smell like powder? I assume so, but don't make diaper-sniffing a habit. But if so, it's a diaper filled with flowers rather than poop. But maybe old flowers, on the brink of dying. Diaper filled with flowers... That still doesn't sound good. ! I do like the scent, but I won't be buying a full-sized bottle. It's kind of a heavy scent, if that makes sense. I'm not sure it makes sense to me. Haha, I'd believe it! Though I guess now that I'm in the know, it could also go uphill as I try new scents? Yay! And which crown is that? The Crown of Talking Too Much? I'll take it! Shiny! LOL, thank you! I'm pretty sure that "horrible feces-arm" might be some kind of medical condition, so it might be insensitive for us to laugh like this, but oh well! Ooh, my boyfriend said he liked this one pear scent sampler I got from a company called Zents, but I'm not sure if he meant he actually liked it, or it was just his favorite out of the ones I made him smell. The Naughty in Paradise is fruity, too, right? I should check that out, too. Maybe one of my next samples. I know not to stand in front of the TV-- but I do it anyway sometimes. Mwahaha! And no worries about rambling, lady, at least not with me.
  16. Well, start shuddering, because it's going to happen right now! I just got my first order and I am so excited to try them out! Okay, I don't know much about scents-- I think I'm going to preface all of my reviews with that. ; I opened the box and smelled a scent similar to incense... It seems like people have said that in kind of a derogatory way, but I found it quite pleasant. Honestly, if I had read the reviews of Jouir De before I checked out, I would not have kept it in my basket. I couldn't imagine a perfume smelling bad-- and all of the ingredients sounded nice, though I wasn't sure exactly what musk was. But I know I've seen other perfumes called musk, so thought it couldn't be something unpleasant-- surely not like an animal musk. After reading these reviews (I had only browsed in the non-pheromone section, to my chagrin), I wasn't so sure. Enough lallygagging-- on to the review! (Though if it's as bad as people say, maybe I should wait until we don't have guests... eh, nuts to them! I was so excited to see the package in my mailbox, I actually thought "Eeeeee!!!") Okay, shaking it gently... opening... Well, it's not bad at all in the bottle-- kind of a sweet, earthy smell. I can smell the vanilla, which I like, and a floral scent, which I assume is the orchid. Now onto the skin... a dab on my forearms... It smells about the same on me, but it has kind of a powdery, clean tinge to it? Almost soapy, but not in a bad way. Whew! I was so worried I was going to have some sort of horrible feces-arm that would send everyone running out into the cold night air. And now I wait 10 minutes? Ooh, in the meantime I guess I should say I feel a tad lightheaded. Is that because of the copulins? Or just from breathing in so intently and being excited? I really know less about pheromones and copulins than I do scents. And I should also add that the single swipe on my arm, spread between my two forearms, is enough to keep the scent wafting up to me pretty strongly. I really do like the smell. Even after only a couple minutes, the soapy smell has calmed down to blend with the sweet, earthy, flowery vanilla. I think part of the earthy sweetness must be the amber-- I've smelled that in a perfume on its own, and enjoy it. Oooh, and honey, definitely. (I'm using the perfume description as a cheat sheet, but you have to learn somehow, right?) Well, it's been ten minutes, and I am still pleased with the result! I thought I smelled cat for a second, but I think I'm just psyching myself out because of all the reviews. I don't get a dirty scent off of it, and it doesn't make me think of sex at all-- it's just kind of a dark, musky sweet scent, I think, with a clean overtone. Now for the ultimate test-- I'm going to give my arm to my boyfriend to sniff it. He doesn't like any perfume, though, so I won't be surprised if he's indifferent. Haha, he just wrinkled his nose and said, "It smells like powder!" And then he said that he was the wrong person to ask, since he didn't like any perfumes (which I knew), and that this one smells like all the other ones to him. Not that I have a lot of perfume. Oh well, I knew he didn't like perfume going into this, but I didn't get them for him! These scents just all sounded so fun, and everyone here on the board is so great, that I couldn't help myself-- and I'm sure I'll keep buying Love Potions. There are so many that sound great! (I made my friend smell my arm, and he said it smells nice.) So-- the one I was most worried about, I got out of the way to begin with, and had very pleasant results. I can't wait to try the other ones! I got Phero Girl, Flower of the Beast, Cuddle Bunny, Love Potion Red, and Shady Lady. Look for those reviews when my nose isn't full of Jouir De. (My goodness, I do ramble on when I'm excited.) Thank you SO much, Mara and Danna! I'm so glad I accidentally found your magic(k)al site!
  17. I got a bottle of Flower of the Beast, a sample of Pherogirl, and a sample of Jouir De. I also asked for the free sample dealie: Cuddle Bunny and Love Potion Red, with an alternate of Tamashii no Tomo. I don't think it has shipped yet. I just ordered a few days ago. I didn't read the reviews of Jouir De before I ordered it-- I was in the regular Reviews forum, and didn't realize there was a separate one for pheromone-enhanced blends. If I had read them, I probably wouldn't have gotten it, lol! There were a couple good reviews, but the rest said it's very dirty smelling... Eek! I am trying to limit my spending to once a month, but I already know what I'm getting next month-- Blushing Milkmaid.
  18. Haha, indeed! I'm still more lurking than posting at the moment, though... I won't have too much to say about these perfumes and pheromones until I actually get them and can try them out. I seriously laid awake last night just thinking about them. So excited!
  19. Definitely! I'm going to have to limit myself to one order a month, I think. It's hard, though-- I have pretty poor impulse control when it comes to fancy, fun things like this that I've just discovered. I know I should at least wait for the ones I've ordered to get here before I order more! The Blushing Milkmaid was recommended to me-- I think that might be my next buy. It sounds great, but I couldn't find a sample size of it.
  20. Oh, good! It sounded great, but I'm glad to have some confirmation. I've been wondering what the dragon's blood smells like, and the dragon theme of the whole concoction was just too good to pass up! And there's nothing wrong with going backwards!
  21. Haha, oh no, did I get in over my head? I'm no wild woman! I just thought that the scent combination sounded lovely. Plus, I'm really curious about the pheromones. It'll be like a science experiment! Albeit one with far too many variables and intangibles to be really scientific. (Though reading those "cat pee" stories did make me a little worried. I hope that's not too common.)
  22. Oh whoops, I put this in the Introduce Yourself thread, but perhaps it belongs here. I just placed my first order-- a bottle of Flower of the Beast, a sample of Pherogirl, and a sample of Jouir De. I also asked for the free sample dealie: Cuddle Bunny and Love Potion Red, with an alternate of Tamashii no Tomo. I can't wait for them to arrive! I'm going to try to review them, though I'm not sure I'll be able to find the right words. Anyway, I'm excited! I always worry about ordering things online without being able to try them, so I love the option to order the trial size, and I especially love the trial giveaways!
