  1. Gods, y'all!!! Another YUMMY one! And it totally pisses me off because Mr. Matt always makes comments about me smelling like maple syrup (which is not his favorite) when I wear scents like this but I LOOOVE them sooooo much!!! Heh. On me it smells like a cakey cookie with perfect maple frosting. Full stop. Total deliciousness. Geeze!
  2. I am loving this one. Well, hell...I seem to be saying that about a lot of the Fairy Cakes! But, really! This is going to sound weird: It reminds me of "Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific!" shampoo! Most of you here are probably too young to remember that. I think it was actually some kind of orchid scent, but this brings it back for me! It's doing the same thing that Raspberry, Figgy, and one of the other Fairy Cakes do with my skin. It's twangy-yet-soft-and-sweet-perfumey...which looks sort of unkempt when I write it, but it's the only way I can verbalize it. It wafts up around my nose when I move and I say "WHAT is THAT?" as my eyes roll back in pleasure...and it's me. It lasts well, too. Can't believe how many of the Fairy Cakes I want as bottles!
  3. Rose, I'm wearing this one tonight and I smelled that odd note right at first. I was alarmed. I couldn't define it--Sarsaparilla says it pretty well for me!--and it stayed there for a couple minutes. I decided that my chemistry had destroyed it. But suddenly the whole thing relaxed, turned into a beautiful Gardenia, and has stayed true to that for the last couple hours. I'm going to test this more. If it continues to shift from root to bloom like it did tonight, I will need more of it. This is gorgeous!
  4. I expected this one to be more like raspberry jam on a cake. Instead, it comes out perfumey--in a very GOOD way--on me. The raspberry is tart, but I do get some sweetness. The cake peeps in and out, so it's a cushion underneath, but this is mainly about the raspberry for me. It's difficult to describe...there's this astringent-yet-sweet soft alluring thing that some scent notes do with my chemistry, and I just love it! I get the same effect from a few of the other Fairy Cakes, too. I said somewhere else...my bottle list is growing. Or else getting really confused. Hee! :banana058:
  5. DUDE! Thanks!!! You're going to have all 20 now, aren't you?!? I just about fell over when I found your order (might have had a bit to do with the bourbon, but still) and then our internet immediately went down for almost 24 hrs. Your sigil collection broke the internet. *gigglesnort* Thank you, tink!
  6. All the sigil prints are up in my Etsy shop now. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ElizabethOSP I'm continuing to be completely gobsmacked by these potions. LOVE them all. Been wearing whichever one I'm printing, listing, or *feeling the need of,* and the effects are swift and distinct. They WORK. Plus, they all smell fabulous!!!
  7. I adore both my silver one and my gold one! They work wonderfully for scent, and they're both BEAUTIFUL. I wear one or the other almost all the time, and I get lots of compliments. My young students are fascinated with them.
  8. MissDC was reminded of Cauldron Cake and BB was reminded of Unreasonable Pumpkin...you ladies nailed it! It smells like a cross between the two on me. I love it! It's like Unreasonable Pumpkin with the spices of Cauldron Cake. The cupcake part is definitely way in the background, even in extreme drydown. The spicy pumpkin is foremost on me, and though it calmed down and sheered-up as it wore...well, it kept wearing! This is a long-lasting Fairy Cake on me. Even though I wear any type of scent any time of the year, this one just screams fall-into-holidays. I want my October! Hee!!! :challoween:
  9. This is comforting and yummy frosted gingery cakey goodness. It has this warmth that I get--and ADORE--from certain perfumes, and I've come to the conclusion that it's at least ginger, and probably ginger in combination with amber. Or maybe it's just a certain amber. I tried it out yesterday on one wrist with the Fairy Cake Pumpkin on the other wrist. As soon as I put the Pumpkin on, I couldn't smell the Gingerbread much any more. I thought that maybe the Pumpkin had done a number on my sinuses...and I was right. Today I'm wearing Gingerbread by itself. It has NOT disappeared. Yay! I have not yet hit long drydown, but as it's going, this one is getting sheer but still hanging in there. YUM!
  10. So. I just about suffocated myself with this last night! Blew my mind. I luuuurrrve pineapples. This smelled so very *true* in the vial: Freshly sliced pineapple, with the skin sitting there. I lost all sense of caution and slathered the outside of both forearms and KABOOM!!! PINEAPPLE INVASION!!! PINEAPPLE FOREVER!!! Hee!!! I had to rinse some of it the hell off! WTF?!?? This is Fairy Cake. They don't *do* this. Even after rinsing, it was still quite strong. As it wore, it calmed the f*ck down and finally, after an hour or two, it was nice, polite, pretty pineapple cupcake. I am going to test this again, in circumspect amounts, on my wrists. But not today. Heh.
  11. Very first snoof from the vial: Lemon Poppyseed Cake! On my wrist: Lemon Bundt Cake! Now that it's settled in a bit, I'm another one who gets the cake to lemon to cake to lemon thing going on. After the initial beautiful LEMON hit fades, it does indeed play back and forth. This is a subtle one on me, and it's beautiful. I haven't gotten to extreme drydown yet, but it's looking like it's going to stay the way it is right now. Will report back in a while. ....Okay...it's about 5 hours and one shower later, and I am totally sold! This Lemon Fairy Cake ROCKS. It stayed the way it settled, got a little fainter, but did *not* disappear. I could still smell it on my wrists after I showered the indigo out of my hair. This required shampoo and soap...and the Fairy Cake was still there! I have just reapplied, as I must have MORE RIGHT NOW. As a few of us have already noted, my bottle list is growing!
  12. 'Kayso...this doesn't smell like the daffs here on the mountain...but it evokes their...their growing groups, I guess, and their *stems*, if that makes any sense. It's like what I get if I keep my nose out of the bells of the flowers, but cut a few and take the handful inside to put in a vase. It's this cut-flower, outdoorsy, lightly sweet freshness...with a frosted cupcake! It's beautiful, and the longer I have it on the more I love it. Will come back to report on long drydown! ETA...Squee!!! here it is, 40+ minutes later, and it's gotten BETTER. In fact, it shifted itself not that long after I posted earlier. I now have more flower with my cupcake, and it's sweeter--but more like a sugared sweet--and it smells more daffy! YUMMM - EEEEEEEE!!! :hearts0425: P.S....and there's this underlying creaminess to it all. *drool*
  13. Well, poopie. I was hoping this would come out as the bright, clean honey that some of y'all are getting. My skin turns this a bit smutty. And be advised, my skin destroys most honey notes. This one is not hazmat-bad, but it's just not quite me. Actually, what I end up with in long drydown is kind of a vanilla beeswax scent, which does have its charm. I'll try this again, but I think I finally hit one Fairy Cake that doesn't particularly work on me. ~I'm betting that at least 25 of the 30 *do* work, though, judging from results thus far. Heh.
  14. Ooooohhhh, FIGGYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! I am a Fig Whore. Took me years to figure it out. After what luna said, I just may be a GREEN Fig Whore, because this perfume has the exact fig feel that I crave. I don't get a lot of cake with this one, except as a faint ghost haunting my clothes at the end. I *do* get that wonderful fig that starts out sharp--like when you open a fig fresh off the tree--and then it climaxes into that luxurious perfumy fig which for me defies words. I can't define it; I just know I LOVE it. Also, this is, so far, the only one of the Fairy Cakes where I can still smell the main note on my skin *the next day*. It's elusive, almost suconscious, and yet it is indeed there.
  15. My brain did the same thing, BB! And Je Reviens--I think that's it for me, too!!! I never would have pulled that outta my head. I've given this one a quick test...I was *weak* and put some on not too long before I showered the henna out of my hair. Thus, I have not experienced extreme drydown. But OMG this is BEAUTIFUL. I get a true magnolia, perhaps enriched with the whiff of a cupcake. Perhaps. It's sweet, but not *too* sweet. It's voluptuous, yet also quite ladylike, so it does not overwhelm. What a perfect floral on my wrist!!! By the way, I am finding myself using this burning heart a whole lot with these Fairy Cakes. This collection is way more...what? Intriguing? Addictive? Seductive?...than I expected.
  16. WHAT?!? Nobody has reviewed this yet??? Well, I'll start. On my skin, it starts out as a very sweet, candy-like floral, with maaaayyybe a bit of somethin' underneath. As it warms and gets into drydown, I get this gentle aquatic component to the floral. I know...*water* lily...yeah. I was expecting it to smell like lotus, but I just did a little research and whoa. They are related, but not at all the same. Glad I now know the difference, because I've seen both and it just did not register in my doofy head! Back to the Fairy Cake...I wore it once to bed, and I'm wearing it a second time now. When I wear this on the inside of my upper arm--which I'm doing now--I get less cake. When I wear it on the back of my hand, I get more cake, but the water lily still dominates. As this wears, the lily backs down and gentles, its sweetness tempered by the aquatic bit. It's almost like adding a touch of the smell of fog, if that makes any sense. At this point I have no idea of the extreme drydown, but on the whole it's very pretty. Because it stays very sweet on me, it's not my favorite of the ones I've tried, but I do like it. I prefer it lower down on my arm where I get a little more of the cake.
  17. Oh, I had such high hopes for this one......................and they were FULFILLED!!! Hee! I enjoy tuberoses. They're neat pants and they smell eye-rollingly good when they bloom. However, when I've tried to wear tuberose perfumes, I've always had to be reeeeeally sparing because my skin amps the note hellishly. But it's not so with this one. > So. At very first vial-snoof, I really didn't get overt tuberose. I could tell there was a floral there in the cake, but not much else about it. Onto my skin then! As it warmed, here came the flower. It was beautiful. It started developing, and my fears arose...and it did NOT amp! I got a great tuberose with the cake, and I do believe the amber was knitting it all together even though I couldn't perceive it separately. I put this on at bedtime night before last, so I didn't (consciously) experience the long drydown. But as long as I was awake--which was a while--this stayed as a tuberose blossom nestled on top of a piece of cake. Holy doodah this is GOOD. And it's a tuberose I can WEAR!!!!!!
  18. Oh good--so I'm NOT crazy! . . Ummm, wait...welllll...heh...
  19. OH YES YES YEEEEESSSSS!!! You said it for me, halo! It acts exactly the same on me. I absolutely LOVE this.
  20. All right, everyone. I am a LAVENDER SLUT. Camphorous, sweet, dark, light...I love lavender. Since becoming an adult of a certain age--heh--my family and I have used it medicinally...a LOT. It heals our burns and cuts brilliantly, and helps with headaches. So I have lovely associations with it...but I've loved it as long as I can remember. That said, I was intrigued by this in the vial. On my skin, I was fascinated by how the lavenders developed and melded with the cake. I'm with luna--one of my very first thoughts was, "Oooh! Another nice bedtime lavender!" I get a nice lavender-forward scent at first. Then, when the lavs meld with my chemistry, the cupcake comes up and balances with them. I have a wonderful lavender cake scent going for a goodly long time. It's sheer like all of these seem to be, and eventually it wafts off into the nether regions. LOVE. :hearts0425: Oh and P.S. Even though my first thought was of beddy-bye perfume, I will be wearing this any damn time of the day or night.
  21. Hee! All the other Fairy Cakes I've tried have had plenty of, well, *cake.* So far on me, though, the Plumeria is front and center. When I sniff at a distance from my skin, I get the sense of something under the flower, supporting it. I just put this one on a few minutes ago, so haven't yet experienced long drydown...but as a longstanding Plumeria addict, I am LOVING this. ETA: It stayed Plumeria-forward the entire time. As with the others I've tried, when it faded out at the end, I was left with the faint, faint ghost of a sweetened vanilla. And that faint ghost was also on my tee shirt that I slept in when I snoofed it thie morning. That particular ghost was left over from the Figgy. I can also smell it in my sweatshirt right now, which I wore *before* I went to bed.
  22. This is the very first one I tried, and it's EVERYTHING I'd hoped it'd be! Spun sugar and vanilla cupcake. OMGYUM. It's sugary in the way I like--that spun sugar kinda note just makes me drool and melt into a happy puddle--and subtly vanilla-y, and sheer and lovely. It lasts a good while for me, and on extreme drydown the lingering remnants are slightly sugared vanilla. Omnomnomnom!
  23. This one starts out as oatmeal with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon! There's no cinnamon in this, is there...but it's right there on me! Reminds me of Buns of Cinn. As it warms and melds, this holds for quite a bit. Then the cinnamon disappears, and there's this quiet, lovely oatmeal/vanilla-ish kinda thing going on. After a while it quiets down to a skin scent...then more subtle...and finally vanishes in the ethers. Yum.
  24. Okay, I've only had this on for a little while...but IT SMELLS LIKE A LILAC CUPCAKE! I've never before been able to wear lilac scents because my skin destroys them. I love lilac flowers so very much. This really smells like I'm standing near blooming lilac bushes...with a cupcake...! As it dries down and melds, it gets creamy. It's not fading much, either--just sort of settling in for the duration. And luna, I also get that reminiscent somethingorother harking to the Lavender Fairy Cake (which I also love). Holy sheepshit. This is my first Fairy Cake review, but I've been sampling them and I haven't hit a no-go yet. ...............WOW. LILAC!
  25. So far I'm liking every one of these I'm trying. And I, too, am loving things I didn't think I would...like Tuberose! Usually I amp it hellishly. The Fairy Cake Tuberose is beautiful on me. So glad I got a sampler! *waves at Heather* I'm going to try Lilac right now, because my skin usually turns Lilac into bathroom air freshener................OMG. Someone else was saying this smells like real lilacs. It's doing this on me, too!!!!!! Lilacs grow well here on the mountain, and I wub them dearly. This is the first time in my life that a lilac perfume has smelled like the flowers on me!!! Off to the review threads...
