  1. This may be a leetle too whup ass for me. The concept is fascinating, but I'm not feeling the scent is quite pour moi.

    Siren's Serenade

Ditto to all of the above. This makes me envision the yellow/red/orange glow of a tequila sunrise. It's fruit and cream--not too sweet, not too tart. Yum.
  3. WOW! This is the first lavendar that plays nice with me! And it even has violet, which has historically been another one of my frenemies. So glad I got this sniffie in a recent trade and didn't rule it out by notes alone.
  4. Oh man, I was hoping to get some of the cocoa everyone is raving about, but this is gleaming polished wood for me. Not bad per se, but kinda like drinking orange juice when you are expecting milk.
  5. This one is vehdy nice. Sometimes perfumes conjure colors in my mind's eye, but this one actually inspired a tactile sensation for me. I imagined a lush, dusky velvet.
  6. Glad you like it, Ravenwing! That's so funny, all I got out of it was honey! (Too bad honey isn't as much female musk as as it is female muskRAT on me. Sigh.)
  7. Surprisingly, plumeria isn't the 800 pound gorilla in this for me like it seems to be for everyone else. I'm getting a lot of briny fresh sea spray which is pretty cool.
  8. Initially this kinda sorta reminds me of Amber Enchantment or LP Pink. It starts out all light and girlie, but the longer I wear it, I realize it's not all sweetness and light - there's something just a little subversive or deviant there. It's pink with a kink.
  9. This reminds me of those gigantic gumballs from vending machines my kids are always pestering me to buy for them as we leave a restaurant. Too sweet for me, but glad I got a chance to try it.

    Touch of EBIL!

When I sniff this I feel like I'm holding a box of carmelcorn in one hand and cotten candy in the other, alternately taking bites of each. I didn't notice the lemon until I read the notes, but yeah, it's there. Nicely done!
  11. From my history with vetiver and leather, I was expecting this to smell on me like a catcher's mitt that had been left outside on and pee'd on by a stray cat. Oh how very, very wrong I was! This is wonderful just as the ladies describe above. Lesson learned - always buy the sampler because you should never assume something won't work based on the notes. LP continues to surprise and delight me.
  12. Hmm, I was expecting something creamy and tropical, but this is like walking into the cargo hold of ship returning from a spice run. The strongest notes to me were the nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamom. However, it's not harsh or dry at all like I've experienced with other perfumeries' spice notes. It was a surprise, but nice.
  13. Tyvey nailed it. I thought this would be fun and kind of quirky, but it's a beautiful scent in its own right. It starts out heavy coffee and jam on me but develops into something delectable and greater than the sum of its parts.
  14. At first sniff this reminds me of the chocolate in Nosfy's. As it wears it becomes a sweet soft powdery rose. The cherry is very subtle. Very nice!
  15. If they sell out, I've got one on my swaps page. I've come to the sad conclusion honey doesn't play will with my skin.

  18. I'm getting a dark carmelized spicy sugar with a shadowy alter ego of soapy lavendar. (full disclosure - lavendar and I usually aren't on good terms, but I keep trying.) To my shock, my husband (who usually prefers light, simple, conventional scents) said he really liked this! He said it was "very mysterious". Huh. Even though I'm not totally on board with it myself, Carloyn's Man Nip delivers the goods.
  19. This behaved very similarly to Nosfy's Apertif on me! Act 1: Dark, somewhat bitter chocolate. Exit chocolate. Act 2: Enter the Apricot (or Rose, in Nosfy's case) Curtain falls. Each stage was very distinct with no overlap. Crazy.

    Purple Pitch

Who knew violets could vamp? This is so dark and stealthy! I've never tried Dolly's Dark Side, but this is how I'd picture it.
  21. This is a very classic white floral type scent, but I think I prefer Spring Equinox 2009 when I'm in the mood for flowers.
  22. In the vial, apple was the primary note for me. On my skin, the marigold came out, which has a totally different vibe from the girly white florals. It's more subdued/not as bright. There's a Fall Marigold festival near where I live, so that combined with the apple creates very strong late summer/early autumn association for me.
  23. Thanks so much! I love this stuff. My order shall be winging its way shortly.
