  1. I just bought one of each Kyphi...let me know if I've claimed them or if they are already sold out (I hope not...)
  2. KYPHI!!!!! I hope the cart is up before Sunday as I'll be away for a week, but I just NEED this stuff!
  3. I'm so glad I am getting a summer job, because so many of these sound fantastic! And space ice cream? I can't not try the stuff!
  4. OMG Kittenish and Music of the Spheres sound like must-haves! And I wonder if the new Cleo blend will be the same as the others?
  5. Hera’s Eye In vial: bright lemon and ginger, it reminds me of a lemon-ginger herbal tea! On skin: wow, this is lovely! It still reminds me of that herbal tea, which is a good thing. It smells like lemon and lime and ginger, bright and zingy and sparkly. The citrus notes are fabulous, zesty and bright and smelling like real juice (not cleaning products), with a slight sweetness. There is a slight hint of cologne to it. The ginger goes very well with the citrus, also adding warmth and spice. I think I can just make out the amber and musk, but if anything, they help to round off and balance out the spicy-tangy scent without being too obvious. Over time I smell more of the amber and the musk, but the fresh, light, tangy fruity scent doesn’t leave. In fact, this now smells a bit like ginger, amber, white musk and a sweeter fruit note (can’t say what fruit). I really, really like this one. Definitely a keeper.

    Frog

Frog In vial: a green, lush, wet scent of moss, bamboo and leaves. On skin: mmm, this is lovely! It smells green and moist and rainforest-like. Reminds me of the botanical gardens and hothouses I’ve visited, a very humid green scent. I smell the pond plants, like reeds and a gorgeous fresh waterlily note, with pulpy bamboo, soft moss, damp leaves, deep green ivy and a hint of earth and water. This really is a very earthy-elemental-watery scent, very green and fitting for a frog. Over time the initial burst of green tones down and the wet earth, reeds, ivy, moss and bamboo really come out, with that beautiful lotus/lily note at the back adding something sophisticated and perfume-y to it. I love the wet earth here with that reedy scent, it smells just like soil after rain. I really love the way this scent is watery but not ‘aquatic’ in that it smells wet, really wet, but not soapy. And then this morphs again…the earth notes disappear, and all that remains is the floral scent of lotus and lily, fresh and bright, boosted by a slightly resinous, slightly white-musky, perfumey note which I think is the white amber. It’s very nice. I did prefer the lush wetness from before, but I like this floral drydown, I also smell something smoky in there, like vetiver. I really like this one. I wish it retained that ‘froggy’ scent of rainforests and rainy puddles and mud for longer, but this is such a unique scent all round, and I’m keeping my sample of it.
  7. 21st Century Venus In vial: perfumey. This is almost mainstream in scent, very modern, a floral with spice and something metallic. On skin: I now smell something peppery, and something almost fruity, and a silvery aquatic note, and something that I can’t really describe well other than to say it smells blue. Very blue, deep indigo-ultramarine with a sheen of silver. A cross between futuristic and mainstream. Then the floral notes unfold, I can’t identify them but they are white and fresh, a bit heady but more like an almost watery scent. There’s a hint of spice to it as well, something like pepper or even coriander. I think I just about detect some soft woods, something solid to ground the ethereal notes. And there’s certainly a note of something aquatic or ozone-y to this, and possibly a white or blue musk. Actually, with a bit of wear, this starts to remind me of a lotus perfume I have, which a friend got me from Egypt…and I love that smell, so this makes me very happy. In fact, this scent dries down to a pure blue lotus scent, a scent of clear watery blue with hints of green, something like hyacinth, a crisp light musk, and maybe a hint of spice or incense. But mainly blue lotus, one of my favourite floral notes of all. (I’m not sure if there is lotus or waterlily here but that’s what I smell on my skin.). I wasn’t expecting to like this, in the vial I thought ‘nah, generic’ but on me it is a beautiful, sophisticated floral fresh scent which smells both modern and mesmerising.
  8. Turkish Delight In vial: very similar to Raqs, but with a sweet rose-lemon scent. On skin: mmm, this is gorgeous. Incredibly exotic and sensuous, this smells of incense and bazaar spices mingling with rose and lemon. Once dry, the tangy scent of the lemon pops out a bit more, and underneath is the scent of candied rose shimmying under veils of mysterious incenses, resins, sandalwood, spices, a touch of musk. this is really gorgeous. It’s got a more sandalwood-y scent to it than Raqs which was more of a spiced amber/smoke/musk scent. after a while the lemon tones down a bit and the incense notes come forward a little, the scent becomes a bit smokier, like there’s a hint of hookah pipe smoke wafting though. This actually reminds me of the BPAL scent Gypsy Queen, which is a good thing since I love GQ. And then it turns into a gorgeous spiced red musk scent, hints of rose, but not as much sweetness now, this is now smoke from incense and hubbly bubbly pipes mingling with raunchy red musk and spices from the market. And then it morphs again, this time into a rose-tinted amber with a smoky musk base This is just wonderful, rich and sensual and magical, this is a scent I will need more of, asap!
  9. Raqs Sharqi In bottle: mmmm, exotic incense and spice markets. On skin: mmm, wow. This is gorgeous! It smells like exotic musk, bazaar spices, scented silks, amber, incense and desert sand. It smells like fantasies of the Arabian Nights. It smells like travelling through the desert with a handsome sheik on a camel, then returning to a tent scented with perfumes from distant lands and scented with incense. This is wonderful! Incredibly appropriate for belly dancing, this is a dry, spicy, smoky, mysterious and magical scent. I can’t say exactly what’s in here but I do smell a musk note-maybe red musk-and sandalwood, spices of various kinds, I can smell saffron here, but I can’t say what else is in here. There’s a lovely incense scent, a hint of floral which I’m guessing is champaca-it has that fruity sweetness to it. Maybe a hint of amber too. This gets drier, a bit smokier (in an incense-y way) and a bit more musky as it dries. Something here makes me think of cloth that has captured the smoke of incense, silken veils perfumed with exotic scents. This does seem to fade into the skin, leaving a warm, spicy scent, the scent is one of dry heat, desert sunsets and busy souks with spices and perfumes. I get beautiful golden amber appearing at drydown. All the while this is sexy and enchanting. I am so glad I grabbed one of the last few bottles of this because it really is amazing…I wish it lasted longer on me, but I think aging this will improve it’s wear time. I love this one, and can see why this is a sellout scent!
  10. I just found out I may be going to Andalucia in May, so that's definitely another reason to get me some Spanish Gold...and I'll wear it there so that I really will be reminded of Spain whenever I smell it after I come back from my holidays there! So it'll be that as well as Turkish Delight, Night of the Fae and maybe Turn On going in my next order...
  11. I can't wait for these to go live! Turkish Delight sounds fantastic-I love roses and exotic-type scents. And Night of the Fae! I've been looking forward to an LP fairy scent! Will there be an 'Une' for women?
  12. Stupid question but where can I buy these? I've been refreshing the main page but to no avail...I want the bellydance potion!
  13. Sugared English Toffee In vial: smells like Werther’s Originals! Yum! On skin: mmm, this smells delicious! It smells primarily like Werther’s Originals (English buttery hard sweets, sort of like butterscotch) but I also smell toffee and also coffee? Maybe even a hint of Irish cream? But mainly toffee and butterscotch with extra brown sugar. I also, strangely, smell a kind of woody note, like oak, underneath the caramelised sugar. The scent reminds me of that toffee that sticks to the teeth and has to broken with a hammer. It’s delicious. Over time I get more coffee than toffee, and it smells almost like caramel coffee stirred with one of those swizzle sticks covered in brown sugar crystals. And served with Werther’s Originals. The mellow and delightful scent of caramel latte and butterscotch lingers and makes me think of Starbucks. It’s a very cosy, comforting scent and one of the nicer caramel scents-some caramel notes can be too much, and I’m sure there will be days when this will be too foody for me (I have to be in the mood for the really gourmand caramels) but this is really lovely stuff. And I’ll probably keep it for the Werthers scent…love those little buttery sweets.
  14. 12th Night in New Orleans January 5th is 12th Night, some call it Epiphany, the time when the Wise Men visited baby Jesus and gave him gifts. In New Orleans, it is the day before the beginning of the Mardi Gras season, a time of partying, feasting, dressing up, and having a great time before Lent. 12th Night has roots in Saturnalia, the Roman celebration. 12th Night signals the end of the “12 Days of Christmas” and is also the traditional day that holiday decorations are removed from the home. I designed this “12th Night in New Orleans” perfume as an Abundance blend. This potion is green, spicy, a bit dark, and has just a touch of King Cake in it. Celebrate the New Year with Abundance! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magickal Meanings of Ingredients: ALLSPICE ~ Luck, health, prosperity, money. PATCHOULI ~ Soothes and uplifts, sensual, sexually stimulating, lust, fertility, money. CINNAMON ~ Male sexual stimulation, passion, lust, healing, protection, energy, creativity, psychic powers. CLOVE ~ Money attracting, deflects negative and hostile energies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Apologies if there's already a thread for this...) In vial: spicy, herbal, dirty, I swear there’s vetiver in here…I definitely smell the basil and bay. On skin: I smell nuts here…like walnuts or pecans. Smoky and nutty. I also smell the cinnamon, clove, patchouli and sugar, a bit of orange too. and lots of herbs too, with basil leading the way. There’s also a creaminess under it all. it’s an unusual blend of notes but I actually really like this! It’s settled down into a lovely spicy-earthy scent with a hint of something reminiscent of paper money. I love the soft creamy warmth of the sugared spices, and the herbs add a really interesting twist. I love the smell of basil-if done right, it can really turn a perfume into something special, like in here. eventually this turns to pure creamy soft clove with just a hint of patchouli to ground it…it’s gorgeous! Warm and comforting and there’s even a hint of incense to it. the drydown of creamy sweet clove and vanilla sugar is clove perfection, the scent I was hoping to get from Christmas Clove Cookies. I’m definitely keeping this one.
  15. Ooh, better try my Kapet again then! Maybe aging will bring out those resins a bit more! I get the feeling that this one will age beautifully over a year or two.
  16. (this is a really old review-I'm sure a lot of the notes I picked up are wrong, but here's the review anyway...) Isis In bottle: honey! Deep, rich honey with resins...a very 'Ancient Egyptian' scent! On skin: wow. This is gorgeous! I can smell honey and resins and spices, but now I smell something richer and sweeter which is either a fruit or floral? Maybe rose? It reminds me of a tropical fruit scent as well. can't say which fruit, but it's sweet, deep and almost juicy. As this is an Egyptian blend, I'm inclined to say pomegranate, grape/wine or date, maybe fig? Whatever it is, it's gorgeous, very sultry and seductive! Ooh, I think I might know what that deep fruity note is-wine! I think it's a sweet red grape or wine note, mingling with honey, and possibly some other fruits like dates or pomegranates, and also some spices (I swear there's cardamom in here! yes!) and resins like amber and myrrh, possibly with some floral notes? Even a smidgen of kyphi incense? (at times it reminds me of DSH Khyphi, one of my favourite scents.) I can't tell really, but I don't mind, because I love this complex and beautiful scen...a scent that is warm and golden like Egyptian sunlight, and very exotic and mesmerising. Later, the scent is a delightful mix of warm cardamom (I adore this spice) red wine and hints of honey and myrrh. It's a true kyphi incense scent, and there's a real feel of heat to this scent, brings to mind ancient spice markets under the desert sun with incense smoke wafting from nearby temples. After about 5 hours, the scent is now pure amber! Wonderful sweet golden Egyptian amber that lasts for hours and hours on my skin. Verdict: this is definitely the scent of an Egyptian goddess. this really is as wonderful as I expected, a beautiful mixture of ancient spices, honey, wine, incense and amber that is entrancing and exotic, and full of mystery. I adore this, and I think Isis is my favourite LP of all...I have three bottles!
  17. Heart of Kapet In bottle: a lemongrass-wine kyphi scent. On skin: mmm, this is intriguing! It's very lemongrassy now, but I can also smell the honey and wine/raisins at this point, and also some hints of resin as well. There's also something that almost reminds me of beeswax-maybe part of the honey note? But I can smell the myrrh coming out of the fruity-boozy notes. This is a little bit spicy, I can pick out cardamom here. For now it's mainly lemongrass, cardamom, raisins and myrrh with a bit of honeycomb. Hopefully the frankincense and other resins will pop out soon. This is really interesting-it does remind me of Egyptian Sands, but not as sweet. Eventually this becomes more of a spicy beeswax with a hint of myrrh to it, maybe some frankincense too? The lemongrass also fades away to let the other notes come out, and then wine becomes dominant, a dry red wine…this is a warm, very dry and golden scent, which is fitting for it's Egyptian theme. There's a hint of something almost like olive oil to it, brings to mind an infusion of kyphi in oil for anointing purposes. There's also that beeswax note that keeps popping up every now and then, and then cardamom returns, then it's back to myrrh. At the end, honey makes a big comeback and it reminds me very much of Egyptian Sands with extra spice at this point…and I think I can smell the amber and lotus! Then the sandalwood comes out, with the honey. This is a fascinating scent, one to explore and get to know, and morphs a lot. Though it is surprisingly quiet and subtle, for all its resinous-spicy complexity. I have a feeling that a little bit of aging will sort this out-resinous notes get richer over time and maybe it's throw will improve. It also gets really nice at drydown when the honey and resins/woods really kick in. This is a fine kyphi scent, not sure if it's my favourite kyphi or LP Egyptian scent of all time yet but I love it. Definitely a lovely complex scent with a wonderfully ancient feel to it, evoking thoughts of pyramids, desert sunsets and solemn, haunting rituals to the gods of old in colossal temples, and resins used for mummification. This one has really grown on me and I'm definitely keeping this.
  18. Sugared Bonfire In vial: mmm, marshmallow with just a hint of smoke. Like a marshmallow ready to be placed in the flames. There's a hint of vanilla to it as well. On skin: mmm, smoke and sugar! This is gorgeous-the smoke in here is just perfect-smoky, but not overwhelming-it's more like a waft of it. The sugar dominates-but it's not cloying, not caramel, not that fruit syrup note I get in some other Sugared scents…it's marshmallow, but I also smell a wonderful musky vanilla! It's like a non-foody sweetness, vanilla enhanced with a light or white musk, warm and inviting. Over this delicious 'marshmallow musk', smoky notes of burning leaves and woods gently play. The smoke in here is there, but it is subtle-it's like a whiff on the autumn breeze, not a 'standing next to the fire with the smoke clinging to clothes' smoke. It's not one that would set off the smoke detectors. It's like the scent of smoke that lingers in the air on Bonfire Night, I swear there's even a little bit of gunpowder to it. The air outside right now smells just like that, actually, but without the sugary vanilla/marshmallows of course! I get a bit more of a wood smoke note over time but it's beautifully subtle, and on equal terms with that delicious vanilla scent, which has become richer and lovelier. I also get a hint of incense at times. This is wonderfully autumnal, not too smoky, not too sweet, a perfect balance of both, not acrid at all. This is the perfect scent to wear when watching fireworks on a cold November night. I may need to get a bottle some day!
  19. Sugared Honeycomb In vial: fruity sugar over a tart wildflower honey. On skin: a tangy honey scent with a drizzling of fruity sugar syrup. It's definitely a honeycomb scent, that rawer, less sweet honey with a feel of wildflowers to it, and it's oddly smoky, with a hint of dry summer grasses. It also reminds me of the honey in Egyptian Sands, but not as dark or sticky, without that incense like angle, this is much lighter, bouncier and more sugary. It also reminds me of LP Pink, thanks to the honey note here along with the fruity, strawberry like, candy floss sugar. I'm not sure why some of these Sugared scents are turning to strawberry but I'm not complaining-I like that, although strawberry sugar is one of those scents that can turn cloying at times. the sharpness of the honey tones down a little and the sugary, watery, fruity sweetness washes over the honey a little more, making a syrup-honey fusion which is very, very sweet but very pretty and summery. However I much prefer Egyptian Sands and it's warm, deep, rich honey scent as my LP honey fragrance-this one is nice but a little too tooth-achingly sugared for me.
  20. Sugared Iced Tea In vial: gorgeous sweetly honeyed tea! There's a hint of camomile and lemon in there. On skin: oh wow, this is delightful! So many green/white tea scents are much too astringent-not so with this one. This has the bite of green and white tea, but it also has a wonderful sugary honey-lemon scent to it, as well as black tea and a touch of earl grey bergamot too. This is delicious! It's not as icy as I expected, but the sugar notes in here are not cloying (in fact, this isn’t very sweet for now), the honey note is like honeycomb, the citrus notes are nice and tangy. This smells like a refreshing cup of honeyed lemon tea on a summer's day. The scent sweetens as a lovely sugar cane like note surfaces and mingles gorgeously with the honey and tea, and the scent becomes smoother and more delicious. at the end there's a wonderful smooth, warm balmy scent of honey and herbs with sugared tea. I swear there's something else to it, richer and warmer than mere sugar and honey-maybe amber, or another resin, or musk. This is mellow and laid back and very soothing-and it has lots of throw! I love this one.
  21. Sugared Coconut In vial: creamy coconut milk with sweetness. It's a soft coconut meat scent, not a suntan lotion smell. On skin: now the coconut note becomes a little bit dry, a little more desiccated, and a tad green. I still smell the milky, creamy sweetness, but now it's more of a dried coconut smell, like dried coconut shreds, or coconut ice. And yes, it does smell a little bit like sun lotion now. Thankfully, the coconut milky sweetness here does prevent the coconut from smelling too dry and oddly green like it sometimes can. There's a lovely coolness to it which instantly brings to mind coconut ice cream. The sugar in here is like white sugar mixed in milk, as opposed to caramel/brown sugar or fruity sugar syrup like in the other sugared scents. the scent becomes gentler, sweeter and creamier over time, until it becomes a vanilla-coconut scent which is so delicious, I want to bite it off. It does have moments of tan lotion, I admit (it smells like a specific brand of sun lotion I used a lot this year in fact), but this is one of the nicest coconut scents out there. Very summery and definitely one that brings back holiday memories!
  22. Sugared Grapes In vial: sugary fruit…smells more like melons and berries, but not like those 'grape candy' smells. On skin: oh, this is nice. This is the kind of grape scent I like-one that smells of sweet white grapes, and a hint of dessert wine. This actually smells like frozen grapes, there's a really icy coolness to this scent, which I like. Under the iced sugar is a lovely fruity sweetness-like melons, lychees, guavas and sweet white grapes, maybe a touch of white wine too. This to me, is more grape-like than those 'purple grape jelly' smells I've come across and I find to have a bitter, medicinal and synthetic scent to them that I can't stand. This is still very sweet and candied, and not as tart and red wine-like as I expected, but it is a grape scent I really like and smells more familiar to me. With a bit of wear I smell something effervescent, almost hinting at champagne. This is beautifully summery and very cooling as a scent, like a chilled fruit spritzer on a summer's day. The sugar in here is lovely too-not cloying at all, sweet and light like spun sugar, but also juicy like sugar cane. I really like this one a lot but there's one disadvantage-it's very faint, though it does seem to get stronger with time-which is unusual. The fizzy scent also increases. It's a wonderful sweet grape scent that smells nothing like stereotypical grape candy, and I love it.
  23. Pure Sugar Sugar, sugar and more sugar! Enjoy the sweetness of our blend of five kinds of sugars - nothing but the sweetest of notes! If you are a sugar lover this one can be worn alone, or, add some additional sweetness to your favorite blend! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sugared: Pure In vial: butterscotch, butter toffee, and treacle. It’s caramel and brown sugar with a buttery edge.On skin: caramelised sugar. This is pure sugar of all kinds from the darkest treacle to caramel to a hint of white spun sugar on top. There’s also an aspect of almost perfumey, tangy citrus/cologne/light musk on top, it’s similar to the scent I got in Sugared Cinnamon. In here, it’s not as strong. And despite the dark, smoky, almost burnt scents of the darker sugars here, the scent is not overwhelming or cloying or heavy. Some of the darker sugar scents can be very heavy, especially in warmer weather, but this one has that light, fresh, non-sugary note on top to prevent this. The drydown to this is very similar to Sugared Cinnamon, but this is lighter and less spicy…it still has that odd floral-perfume-musk feel to it. It’s nice but I was hoping for more sugar…however at drydown I get more and more of the lighter sugars coming forth, some icing sugar and candy floss notes. This is actually very pretty now and I do prefer it to Sugared Cinnamon-it lacks the spice, but the drydown is worth the wait! I even smell a hint of toasted coconut in there, and this coconut gets even stronger over time. And then it smells very much like candy floss and fried donuts sprinkled with sugar, with added coconut ice. It smells like the fair! So whilst I wasn’t sure about the beginning of this scent, I adore the final stages.
  24. Sugared Frankincense and Myrrh Thick Arabian Frankincense and Myrrh oils, softened with a fine powdery sugar scent. Soothes and Inspires Peacefulness & Meditation. May be worn alone or with our other Layerable scents. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In vial: sharp yet oddly berry-fruity frankincense. Doesn’t have the sugared scent of the sandalwood or amber yet. On skin: hmm, this is an odd one. Normally I adore frank ‘n myrrh scents but this one is slightly weird at first. It smells like pine needles, evergreen resins, and a hint of berries! Not what I expect but I do like it somewhat. I smell a hint of almost buttery sugar on top though, but this smells less like frankincense and more like pine resin, which I like. There’s a dark, almost burnt undertone, probably the myrrh. But this scent is resinous in a totally different way to what I expected…but then after 10 or 15 mins, the scent dramatically changes for the better-the sugar is now apparent and it’s lying on top of the most gorgeous smoky resin-incense scent. this does smell like a couple of new age shops I know but I don’t mind that at all-I love that particular incense they burn that smells like what I have here (only here it’s much sweeter) and I’ve been looking all over for a scent like the loose incense they burn in those shops, the smouldering and smoke, and even a hint of candle smoke as well. This has turned from ‘huh?’ to OMG MUST HAVE MORE!’!
