  1. I don't know. I think maybe it's the strength of the odor that he dislikes. He loves curling up right against my crotch when I'm lying down and have one knee drawn up. Anything that has a strong tang smell he'll jerk back from. I had a little adventure this weekend with a department reunion at my undergrad alma mater. (Also a booksigning.) It went fantastically, wearing Cougar Potion scented. I also added a spray of an experimental from that other place I left. I sold books like crazy and came home having made a profit for the first time in a university setting. I had professors hovering around me, the university president chatting me up, and during the luncheon (right after my booksigning) the husband was kind enough to pack and stow my books for me while I got us a seat in the ballroom. Sitting by myself, suddenly I'm surrounded by the dept faculty (mostly male) who decide that this should be their table because they're not going to let me sit alone! So this one guy (probably early 40s) starts to sit beside me and I said, "No, my husband is sitting there," and he goes, "HUSBAND?!" If I'd had anything in my mouth I'd have spewed, because it was so obvious that he was planning to, ah, get to know me better! And this evening I had a very attentive husband (who doesn't know about the professor, lol) when we drove home (several hours) and also when we went out to dinner. I didn't put anything much on fragrance-wise until we got ready to go out to dinner (at least anything with pheros in it) and he was fun and funny and solicitous and generally a delight. He used to be like that all the time but since he had heart surgery some years ago and they put him on all these meds, he's become kind of lethargic and stuff. Tonight he was actually perked up and enjoying himself. Me likey da Cougar!
  2. This immediately reminded me of my grandmother in the springtime from my childhood. I adored it. I knew it had a floral and that was what was triggering the memories, and sure enough, it has daffodil! My grandmother used to line the walkway to her front door, half in daffodils and half in tulips. It was delightful, and so is the fragrance. Unfortunately since I'm allergic to flowers and not just floral fragrances, I woke the next day after dabbing this on (and I do mean DAB!) all stuffed up and headachy. *sigh* I'm gonna keep the little sample though, just to remind me of my grandmother.
  3. Soon I shall not be a squib any longer.... *wonders if 30 posts has better connotations than "squib"*
  4. Thank you, Cherie. And don't worry about it, Sylah. That's what the little trial bottles are for. I'll keep that one and endure the stuffies for the sake of remembering my grandmother; I'll just have to do as you say and either sniff from the bottle or wipe it off before i get too stuffed up. And try to avoid florals.
  5. Well, when I ordered the fragranced Cougar Potion I got several little trial vials with it. Last night I tried one called Seven Tears and I just fell in love with it! It reminded me of my grandmother when I was very small (which is NOT a bad thing btw) and it was because it had a floral note in it. I looked it up a bit ago and it was daffodil, which is why I was associating it with my grandmother in the springtime (she had a LOAD of daffodils that bloomed along her walkway)! I dabbed some on my throat and my wrists and went to bed thinking good thoughts. Unfortunately the floral issues I have (whether in perfumes or in the real thing) reared its head in the night and I woke up all congested and stuffed up. So lovely though they may be, florals are still not for me. *glomples Sylah*
  6. Swamp water. SWAMP water?? Swamp WATER?!?!? Y'all ain't from th' South, are ya?
  7. Ok it's official - the cat does NOT like cops. Every time I've worn the cops oil someone sent, he wants to cuddle, then gets close to the application point and runs away like he got yelled at. Then tries to wash himself down.
  8. *snrk*snort*snicker*giggle*GUFFAW* I should have much preferred to be Dr. Gallimaufry, but I suppose "Squib" will have to do - for now. ---- Speaking of such things - when does the post counter increment? Mine has been showing 12 all day and I've been posting...
  9. I...is a squib. A squib is a tiny explosive used in movie special fx. A squib is a non-magical child of magical parents. A Squib is a short, furry, alien hoarder. A squib is a firearm load with no oomph. I...is a squib.
  10. Thank you! Yes, more and more I am finding I am addicted to the forum and the whole explorational process of scents and pheros, in a way I never have been before!
  11. Added a stripe of cops (about 3 drops(!)) down my belly, then rolled the scented CP over/along the same path. For the first time, the cops aren't making me gag - it actually all smells GOOD together! And I finally figured out what cops reminds me of - a really "good" batch of dried valerian herb! The kind where you open the bag and go, "WHOO!" and jerk back, lol.
  12. I hope I'm not reviving this thread unduly but I read it with some interest. A friend sent me a trial blend of an oil cops scent and my first reaction to it a couple weeks back was "EWWW! DIRTY BUTT!" But in the interim it seems to be mellowing out a bit; or maybe I'm just getting used to the smell, I am not quite sure. I did just apply some to my belly (read someplace here that was better than on the chest right under your nose) then rolled on some Cougar Potion scented atop that. And danged if it isn't downright pleasant with the CP on there. I don't smell sweat at all and never have, but there is definitely a...I dunno, it's not so much dirty butt smell anymore as much as it is generally an unwashed smell. But with the Cougar Potion (grapefruity stuff) I don't really detect bad stuffs.
  13. Oh how glad I am that one of last night's orders was the unscented then! And I already have some cops, if I can stand to wear 'em. GEEZ...
  14. Yes, benign is a lovely word. Initially all I knew was "You have a growth in your abdomen." Given a history of cancer in my family, it scared me witless. But I spent all last summer in medical testing and TWO (count 'em, two) surgeries. The first was a bellybutton and the second was what I took to calling "the big slice an' dice." At any rate, the Cougar Potion was still apparent when I got up today. (I write, and am a night owl. I went to bed at 3am and got up about lunchtime.) I layered more on and hubby and I went out and about a bit. I got good service from shopclerks and the restaurant waitress, but didn't notice a whole lot else in the way of "hits." Then again, I was sorta just going with the flow, so I may not have noticed. I DID get several pretty items in a couple of makeup shops (we had a Sephora open up near me, and some products I wanted were carried at the local Target). So I am fairly happy. Funny: There's a specialty chocolate boutique in the same mall with the Sephora. I can speak to their excellent rum truffles, but being on a low carb diet makes that a bit difficult. A diabetic friend told me they had sugar free chocolates, so we popped in and I tried an orange jelly and a dark chocolate cherry cordial. I bit into the cordial and cherry cordial juice just splattered down my light aqua shirt! The shopclerk ran for a handful of paper towels, and husband very attentively stood there and delicately wiped UPWARD to remove as much of the cordial as possible before it soaked in (and actually got most of it off!). I've still got some faintly visible blotches on my shirt but frankly I just didn't care! I'll throw it in the wash soon and if it comes out, fine; if not, it converts to a slouchabout shirt. Dunno if the pheros had anything to do with my attitude or not... :)
  15. Testing something here... YESS! My planet of origin is showing up!
  16. Yeah, I could get used to the fragrance! I'm not sure it's heavy enough to cover any additional cops, though, like I read in the review thread. We shall see.
  17. Ok I'm a newbie here but not new to pheros. I just got the Cougar Potion fragrance in the mail today. My first reaction upon applying it (one good double stripe to the wrist & smeared between, one rub in the hollow of my throat, one rub on each side of that (collarbone area) and schmear with fingertips) was, "WHO CUT UP A GRAPEFRUIT?" Bright, sparkly, citrusy smell just like fresh grapefruit! Then within only a minute or so I started getting a faint, light musky smell. It's thoroughly dried down now and I have a lovely soft mix of citrus and a powdery, musky, not-quite-incense fragrance. And I FEEL DYNAMITE! Sexy, with-it, in control, maybe not QUITE smokin', but pretty durn close. Now, I guess it's important to know that I hit 50 last year (although I don't look it according to most people) one month after I had major surgery to remove what I had left of my reproductive organs along with the huge growth attached to them. (Benign, I might add.) It has left me struggling not to feel old. Right now I DO NOT FEEL OLD! W00T! Look out for me!
  18. Aha, there IS musk in there, a light musk, and light ambers too! THAT'S what I'm picking up! Going looking for the Cougar Potion thread to post this in...
  19. My Cougar Potion (fragrance) came in today and I just tried it on! VERY grapefruity. FRESH grapefruit. Not my usual scent choice but I like citrus and I think it will blend with my usual scent (which has neroli in it) quite nicely. I'm sitting here sniffing myself, lol. There's something under the grapefruit which I haven't identified yet. Mm, maybe something musky? Very light though, if it is. All right, Nessie, I can't stand it! Here! Make your appearance!
  20. Oooo! Tankyew! I'm still learning to navigate the board. This is a HUGE help!
  21. :kyrii_green_jump: I've been going through all the various scents! They sound yummy for the most part...but most of them aren't scents I would pick for myself. I have a strange body chemistry (I have to wear tarnish-free silver or gold - or rarely platinum - or I flatly eat the finish off the jewelry) and just 'cause it smells good in the bottle doesn't mean it will on me. I've had stuff turn NASTY-bad on me. That's why I find I tend to stick to the oriental/men's-type/incense fragrances - they usually don't turn. Florals make me stuff up and sweet tends to turn. Anyway, as soon as my Cougar Potion arrives, I'll be trying it out, and I'll let y'all know! Meantime, recommendations of other scents in the sort I'm talking about would be appreciated. I'm not sure if I found 'em all. And I'm willing to try out what is normally a guy's fragrance too. I know with my chem, it won't smell the same.
  22. Hi! I'm a friend of Sylah's! I too came from...elsewhere...and have been looking for a new phero home. And I see what she means about Nessie... O_o Not quite sure what to say in my intro post except I think it's a cool site and I already made an order a couple of days ago, lol! I've been lurking ever since. Given...previous experiences, don't expect me to post much. When I do, it'll be to say something's great, or offer a suggestion for something you might not have tried yet, or that I'm looking for. I saw someone else posting about trying to cover cops, and I have to say that perfectly mirrored my experience with cops. One drop in the cleavage and I nearly tossed my cookies. Iergh. :kyrii_maraquan_action: And I could NOT get it covered up. Husband didn't seem to notice anything but I felt like I reeked of dirty bottom the rest of the day. And no reactions, either. Despite enduring it several times. I did reach the conclusion that it wasn't enough, but I have NOT had the bravery to try putting any more of the stuff on me, lest I smell like the medieval unwashed barmaid... O_o Like Sylah, I like the more incense/spice/almost-but-not-quite-masculine fragrances. Not so much into food. And am often allergic to most florals. I do have a perfume I adore already that is perfect, so we shall see. I may end up getting unscented pheros, or I may find something that blends nicely with what I already have - or I may find something I like even better. I lean toward having a signature fragrance, though. Once I find something I like, I don't change it often, certainly not every day something different. I used to wear Obsession, and my body chem did something to it, made it unique from the way it smelled on anyone else. I had a couple guys remark they could recognize me around a corner by the faint smell of the fragrance. Looking forward to my first order, which was the Cougar Potion fragrance! Sounds like something I'll like, that'll blend nicely with my regular perfume!
