  1. This one elevated my mood as well as everyone else in the office!

The green clean scent makes it appropriate for all environments, thus I've been debating whether to buy Pinnacle or Ruisseau. The greens are a lot sharper in Pinnacle though.

Ideally of course I would get both but I think they're a bit too similar. It is unisex but it does lean a bit more toward the male side.

  2. GOAL! is right on the money...a perfect recreation of Attacked in the Stacks.

Wore this to bed with my Russian Barbie and the cuddle factor increased about 3 maybe 4 points. It takes forever to fully dry down (like Super for Men) but once it's settle in, the tobacco takes over and the hint of currant keeps it light.

    Very impressed and recommend highly.

  3. Well it was your request which inspired her, and Mara is always good about acknowledging the input of others. But yes I also suggest you get the men's sampler for November and try some Pick Your Potion sample-size sprays too!

I already placed my order for 'GOAL!' and I'm psyched!

I can't find this "man's november sampler" anywhere. Can someone post me a link? Where should I be looking?

  4. Well in the case of a PE, anybody can! It's just in regards to catalog scents that people can request a rebrew here on the forum, but it may not be possible to recreate a scent for various reasons, or Mara just may choose not to (as the owner she has first right of refusal, after all).

To order a PE it's $29.95 for one bottle, $24.95 for two or more.

    I see.

I will definitely ask her then. Thank you for your help! :)

  5. Tumultuous. That is the best way I can describe this scent. All the notes hit me all at once in an all out assault of your olfactory sense. Eye of the storm is definitely the appropriate name for this one.

It is very fresh, green and wet as a storm would be I guess.

I think it's a bit too sharp and attention grabbing for work, and not warm or sensual enough for night time.

Anyone have any good ideas as for what would be an ideal setting to wear this one?

  7. I'll be sure to try that if I ever get a bottle for myself before the well runs dry. Aside from Attacked in the Stacks, this is my favourite men's LP. It's so sexy. And on me it felt very comforting - like something I'd wear at home, when the cold weather hits & I want to ignore the drafts and pretend I'm warm. Lol! I just love this scent so much! I'd imagine that if there were a bottle hanging around, he'd use it. He's made such a habit of messing up my LP box, looking for the "boy scents" that I started another box, just for him. I could probably just slip it in there, & he'd never even realize it. Heh heh... ;)

I would love for Attacked in the Stacks to make a come back...*sigh*

  8. Oooh I was so excited, I dabbed this on almost as soon as I opened the package!

Upon application it kinda does the same "coffee amber" thing I've experienced before, like with Sungold Mocha. But guys - although it might strike you as sweet when you first put it on - let it dry down because the coffee and woods will emerge out from behind the base. Oh so good, seriously droolworthy, girls will go crazy and want to snort your skin like a controlled substance...*purr* But yeah, other guys might be all, "Uh...why do you smell like a Starbucks, dude?" To which you reply with some pithy response regarding how it gets you laid, or whatever, because I know that will go unchallenged (except perhaps with undisguised envy).

I wasn't really impressed by the overly sweet smell upon application, but you are absolutely right - It dries down into something AMAZING that I certainly wasn't expecting. Top notch stuff.

  9. Fresh and strong. Very masculine.

A daytime fragrance, the oak sits in the background and lets the more watery notes come through. On my skin the granite and steel are pretty much the featured notes, cold and sharp. Maybe a little leather would have helped out with adding a little warmth without being incongruent with the rest.

Steel and stone are definitely notes that should be used more often in men's fragrances though, especially the steel.

This is most certainly an office friendly fragrance if you're one of the unfortunate souls that works in an office or wear this when going for a walk with your ladylove on the beach . It matches the environment and next time you wear Thane you will bring those moments back.

  10. I am still loving this one. I see girls looking a few times. Checking me out, smelling something? Who knows which one or both, but great stuff. One thing when out and about I see the hair shift to show their neck.

I've noticed the same thing while wearing Voracious. I've already ordered a full bottle and simply can't wait for it to get here.

  11. Well,I am with the ladies, but you are wearing it and there are too many others to love.

    So.... SS4M unscented :P

I agree. I'll continue experimenting. I might even consider trading or selling this bottle since I don't see myself using it too much.

I already have lots of fragrances for "play time". I am in the search for a signature scent to wear every day. You guys feel me?

  12. So off to work I went to my job at SummerStage in Central Park. The Milk Carton Kids and the Old Crow Medicine Show were performing.

This is an outdoor gig and it's hot and muggy, but I decide to field test anyway. The rollerball thingy is annoying and it's hard to tell how much I'm applying, but I manage.

When I arrive on site, I go straight to the office trailer to punch in and get started. The trailer's interior was the very opposite of outside. It was dry and very cool. The space is rather cramped and I was in there with my boss, another male co-worker and three female co-workers. My male co-worker immediately exclaims "Oh wow…it smells like maple syrup in here!" followed by concurrence from everyone inside. My boss jokes: "Jesse, are you wearing that maple syrup cologne again?"

Now mind you this is the first time I'm wearing this out and he doesn't know what he's saying. He was just joking, even though he was, in fact, at least partially correct. I joke back saying that I work in a diner and they should just get over it. A hardy laugh is held by all.

I found out that I'm stationed with a female co-worker with whom I've never worked before. Perfect.

I haven't seen a deer-in-the-headlights look like that in a while. It was almost like she was on drugs. I think her pupils were even dilated. She gave me the 21 questions and seemed to be in a much happier mood than usual. Energetic and talkative. If I didn't know better I'd say she'd done a bump of blow right before work. Finally she asks everyone else: "What smells so good in here?…it's kind of like pancakes" Again there was concurrence from everyone. They all commented on how "the park" smells like pancakes today.

Later in the shift I reveal to her that it is me that smells like pancakes and she askes me if I had maple syrup spilled on me. Everyone else was also wondering why I smell like pancakes.

Now while maple syrup/pancakes are delicious, I most certainly don't want to start being identified as "the guy who smells like pancakes"…not all the time anyway. So next day at work I slathered on the Ruisseau and went under the radar. I wasn't trying to have everyone ask me why I smell like syrup two days in a row seeing as I don't actually work at a diner. This brings me to my second quandary with Super for Men.

My current romantic interest DOES work at a diner. I can't really fault her for finding this fragrance a bit of a turn off. I wouldn't like it if she smelled like ink toner from the office either. I kind of even doubt that Super for Men would even register considering she's bombarded by the smell of maple syrup at work all night long as it is.

In conclusion, thank you ladies very much for the suggestion but I'm gonna call this one a dud. I would prefer to have my signature to be unique, a tad rough, a tad sensitive, a little boozy, a little clean and all manly not….pancakes. In other words if a girl finds one of my shirts and takes a sniff I would like her to say "Yum,that smells like Jesse" not, "Yum that smells like maple syrup, let's go get breakfast."

    Thoughts?

  13. I can see why Super for Men II is intriguing to women.

Sometimes it's subtle and sweet, sometimes it's sharp and bold. It's always interesting.

Sure you may as well just dab maple syrup on your wrists and call it a day, but this would be unsatisfying and attract ants. Instead the tobacco and whatever the hell copal is, keep the party going and looking beyond the sticky exterior. I will wear this one indiscriminately and proudly.

    It's satisfying. It's warm. It's human.

In the middle of making out with you, she might ask you to take her to Ihop for pancakes, because that would be the only way to absorb something so delicious without resorting to cannibalism.

To be fair, it's too sweet, but the ladies dig it, and in the end that's all that matters in the quest to procreate and propagate our species.
