Time Travel: Somewhere in Time

Snuggle up with a Latin American classic this holiday season! The warm creamy scent of horchata as imagined by rice milk, cream and almond milk swirled with spicy chili seed, red pepper EO and cinnamon, sweetened with vanilla extract and a dash of cocoa powder.

Given the preponderance of recorded history and artifacts, no one can dispute that the Maya civilization of Mesoamerica was one of the most advanced societies of the ancient world. And much like other historical cultures the world over, it is believed that some of their greatest intellectual, artistic and technical achievements were inspired by what some might say is an otherworldly influence. Others might call it...alien. Mayan royalty was considered to be mediators between the people and the gods. And for a society so obsessed with chronology that their calendar measured a five-thousand year era, perhaps extraterrestrial beings outside of solar-bound humanity offered a way to realize their wildest imaginings and aspirations. To eschew conventional terrestrial limitations and look to the stars for wisdom. Perhaps the Mayans discovered the secrets of moving outside of time, going beyond measured time and encountering the eternal now.

Historians have their debates regarding what ultimately became of the Maya civilization but their monuments have stood for thousands of years and will continue to do so. To witness what they have left behind is to experience the grandeur of their epoch. Perhaps they do know how to time travel after all...

When first applied, I can pick out the individual notes. This lasts and lasts! And, as an added bonus, I've learned that it will cover EOW. (Just saying,... always good to know, right?)

I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of almond - although I do like it in some things - but DANG THIS IS GOOD.

Sweet and creamy for days and days, funny enough I get just the slightest hint of spice. And usually spice is the first thing to amp to 11 on my skin. There's an undertone of the cocoa powder which adds to the overall snuggliness. This is scrumptious, and I think it would be great to layer with other things as well, it makes for such a thick creamy base.

While wet this has a type of screaming pure almond that I love. I get a bit of spice tempered with creamy rice milk and cream and vanilla. The cocoa goes a bit wonky for a while with the buttercream. Almost sharp/sour but that fades back into a creamy spicy delicious concoction. Man if Almond lasted, Id wear nothing but this for months.

Somewhere in Time is so delicious. It begins very almond forward, but quickly evolves into a creamy caramel with just a hint of spice. The fragrance is so decadent and sweet, but not so much that it gives me a headache. Gourmand fragrances like this one often disappear quickly, but even after hours of wear I still get wafts of scrumptious delight.

Dammit! I wish this lasted on me. It was so delicious, my skin just chugged it down, like me with real horchata. Bummer my skin has no self control. The Vanilla is a little boozy, I think, going to try it again today and maybe my skin will slow down.

We used to sell a liquid silicone that you could apply before your perfume/pheros and it could help make your perfume last longer. I had decent luck with it, sometimes it helped a lot, sometimes not much. Also sometimes ones that fade quickly one develop into ones that last longer or are not so light wearing on me. I don’t think it’s only a question of aging in my case so it might be a skin chemistry or hormone level fluctuations issue.

I tried it again today, no trace whatsoever two hours later when I checked. I think my skin is just dehydrated and it was thrilled to drink it up.

I have slathered with the last of my Somewhere in Time trial today. I made sure to moisturize with a thick and heavy whipped L&L lotion, two and a half hours later, it's still here! I know everyone is excited about the sale, but I keep thinking, I already have everything I need. I don't need anything else. Maybe, just maybe, I need this. I was smelling myself during class this morning and was thinking I could just carry it around and put it on every hour or so, it's just so damn delicious.

Halo, was that Cyclo-Dimethicone? I'm wondering if I try a combo of shea butter and a bit of avocado oil, I might get same effect. Obviously coconut oil and cocoa butter would change the scents too much. I'm thinking Aquaphor could be a winner.
