We’re back with another tribute to the Master of Deduction, the world’s only consulting detective, the man who proved that Smart Is Sexy - and this sixth chapter takes its’ inspiration from Sherlock Holmes’ adventure in the opium dens of East London as portrayed in Arthur Conan Doyle’s story “The Man With The Twisted Lip.” Enjoy this unisex fragrance with the aura of Victorian-era vice without those debilitating side effects...a blend of opium and smoke accords, Dragon’s Blood and kush resin, strong black tea and smooth dry vanilla on a base of animalic musk. And with a nod to such euphoric pursuits we’ve paired this scent with our exclusive B2.2 pheromone formula!

Scent: Hypnotically deep, dark, musky and resinous with no sweetness.

MAGICKAL MEANINGS OF INGREDIENTS:
POPPY ~ Fertility, prosperity, love. Deepens feelings, instills calmness. Imagination, pleasure, wealth, success.

SMOKE ~ In addition to the attributes of whatever is being burned (resins, woods, etc), smoke is for cleansing, purification, renewal, consecration, concealment and celebration. It is also the foremost mode of communication from this world to the realm of spirits and the gods.

from Cherry On Top

a Savannah Finch adventure

By Julian Lune

(part five)

Haunted Antiques! the sign proclaimed and yeah, I rolled my eyes. Which is not to say the proprietor was lying but I think if you have to advertise that kind of feature then you are surely pandering to the morbidly sensitive. But Sebastian grinned as we rolled up on the place, eager to find some new spectre to gossip with. Ghosts are great for that sort of thing if you can get their attention. They witness everything, but they tend to be caught up in their own concerns.

Entering the antebellum-style house we moved from thick heat to dust and mildew and all the assorted scents of age and rot. The shop was a safety regulator’s nightmare: crammed and piled and stacked every which way with the detritus of past lives and decades gone by. I coughed politely and waved a hand through the air.

“My sinuses are going to rebel at any moment,” I warned. Sebastian had stopped mid-aisle and sniffed loudly.

“My word, I haven’t smelled that since -”

Then I caught it too. Once you’ve smelled it you never forget it.

Eugenie Favreau, the owner of this pile of precious junk, bustled out from behind a massive armoire and waved her hands at us.

“Now Savannah don’t you go saying one o’my haints told you to come here and shut me down!”

I rolled my eyes again. “Eugenie, I don’t need a ghost to tell me nothin’ ‘bout what’s wrong with this place that I can’t see with my own eyes and call the Health Department!” I coughed again for emphasis.

“Which one of your spectral tenants is the dope fiend?” Sebastian asked, and I saw her flush when he turned his attention upon her.

“Why, I have no idea -”

“Are you telling me you can’t smell it?” I asked. I really did want to sneeze because its’ strange sweetness had that effect on me. “It’s the Balm of Eternity as sure as my name is -”

“Yes, alright, there is such a spirit here, but I am vexed by this one. I smell the infernal drug but I can’t ever find the source!”

I patted Sebastian’s shoulder. “Go fetch, but you are not allowed to have a toke, or whatever.”

“You do realize that attempting to fetter my degeneracy is futile,” he quipped.

“Just go, please.”

He walked past us and I looked around at the clutter. “Eugenie, why do people want cursed things?”

Not cursed,” she exclaimed. “Haunted! You’d be surprised what I can get on eBay for a haunted mirror.”

A crash sounded and we both started. My heart felt like it tried to punch my rib cage.

“Bast? Are you okay?!”

“The damn thing threw a chair at me! You didn’t say it was a poltergeist!”

“Hmm,” she mused. “Aren’t those sorts always too stoned to get violent?”

Another loud crash made us flinch. “Well let’s see what we can do because it wrecks your entire inventory, eh?”

Eugenie looked alarmed. “Oh dear lord not the china!”

We ran towards the back of the shop and I sneezed all the way.

This one has a really interesting kind of sweetness to me - it is reminiscent of other types of opium-like accords which I've smelled before, but this is really smooth and not too heady. Underneath it has more of a dark masculine quality, but again, not overly pungent, just solidly present. I like this for myself but I do think it's more appropriate for a guy. It's naughty man but it's not dirty or too licentious. I'm interested to know what other people think of it.

Thanks for the review, I've been curious about it too (and have no experience with previous versions) I am going to eventually order a trial vial.

My order arrived today! And contrary to what I said one-post-ago... I sprung for FB and I love it. Gawd this fragrance is amazing. I don’t have the awesome ability to describe scents in the same way you ladies (and gents!) do. Let’s just leave it at that...

I’m VERY MUCH in love with this unsniffed purchase. And the Phero B2.2 has a nice feel.

Does anyone here know if Phero B2.2 is a newer name for Teddy BB (or vice versa)? Their molecule description is the same.

Here's the link that describes how they are different:

Look under Unisex - it's the percentages of the ingredients.  :)

I also got Teddy Man 2 at the same time, to compare.

ETA - following your link.

So B2.2 is actually the softer, gentler one? I imagined Teddy as having the softer arrangement... I guess not...?

I do, however, enjoy both of my purchases today, Teddy Man 2 & Elementary 6.

I haven't used B2.2 much, just Teddy BB, which I like.  You'll have to see which one works best for you.

Today, when I was sorting through my sniffies, I discovered I had this!  How it slipped past me is a mystery. I’ve been curious to try it, and have almost ordered a trial vial several times now.

Yes, it is masculine, but it sweetened  up considerably after it was on my skin for a bit.  I think I’d enjoy using it in a warmer as a room fragrance.    I really like it a lot!

Think: the clean but antique paper of a  library book that has been housed in a study where various substances were smoked over the years.

I think im going to have to get myself a bottle?.

I'm really not sure why this and The Big Easy are turning weird on me. On my skin, at first (and smelling them wet), it's fine, less than five minutes later, it starts to smell like how cops have been described to me, now, hours later, that smell is all that remains. It's unfortunate, because I really like Elementary and TBE wet , but now, I use Easy on my pillow at bedtime, which I think helps me sleep.

Homme still wins for me. I don’t know how to describe this one.

Immediatly after application I felt a bit of that clear headed feeling, so far that’s all I’ve noticed, and I’ve had it on a couple hours now. It reminds me a lot of the guy that used to be my best friend. I wonder if he wore this. Interesting how I immediately thought of him. Pheros would make sense because I really thought he loved me, I would always feel so happy when I got to see him, but then it seemed like he tried to take advantage of me after years (over a decade) of me thinking I’d probably just end up with him one day since I’ll probably never be able to find a partner (that loves me). He probably got tired of my health issues. I also saw him in a porn with a really pretty lady.

I’m not and never will be pretty. Sexy yes. Pretty, not even close. So another reason I guess I understand. She’s probably healthy and she’s pretty too. She probably has a normal sex drive. She probably doesn’t want kids like he says he doesn’t, but I always thought he’d be the best dad. Memory lane.

So far with B-2.2 I notice an immediate sort of clearheadedness, and a little bit of a sort of maybe ‘Stoic Calmness?’

The hits were all over the place, so want to to gather more info.

For Self Comforting I choose Balm Bomb, but can see how if I were all worked up into a tizzy and used B-2.2, it may provide that calmness even though the calmness is much different than the Loving vibe feeling I get from Baby Bomb, calmness is still probably better than being all worked up.

To me this feels like ‘a guy’ but then again it reminds me so much of my ex best guy friend. Maybe that’s why I equate it to feeling like a man.

Feel like I’m Michael Hutchence walking the streets in the Never tear us apart video in Prague.

I like it A LOT! But it feels like what I want the person walking next to me to feel like. Not necessarily myself?

I do feel congruent enough in a way that I feel like I pull it off well.

Was strange. To many I felt I was invisible (like walking in the dream here), and to many I felt DIHL I even got doubletakes! I think they need some meds for that whiplash HA!

Some people were SO nice to me, and a couple really weird reactions!

Going to to hold onto my Trial for further testing. ❤️

Got a FB of this in the sale and I tried some on earlier because I was really curious about a few of the scent notes.  First, to be blunt, despite the scent notes, no this does not smell like a head shop.  This is actually a very evocative scent, to my nose.  It evokes memories or daydreams of a warm fireplace, snuggled under a blanket with a cup of Darjeeling and your favorite person.  It is warm, and inviting and soft and comforting.  It is the perfect scent for when it is cold and raining in autumn or when it is -50 degrees outside with a foot of snow on the ground in January.  You are trapped inside and completely okay with it because you know it means more snuggles with the one you love.

This, to me is a scent that whispers comfort, whispers calm, whispers relaxation.  It doesn't shout anything because all the scent notes are so extremely well blended.  It is a warm sigh in a bottle that is just, ahhhh.  You'll notice how I chose to word things above.  I just wrote, your favorite person and not your significant other, lover or FWB.  This isn't a sexual scent to me.  It is a peaceful scent made for curling up with whomever is important to you.  That can also be in a platonic way or even mean curling up next to your favorite animal companion.  This is a scent that begs for someone to be close to you.

I know the women on the forum have discovered the joys of the Phero B2.2 blend and I'm sure a few of the guys have as well.  Most guys may be put off by the fact that this is more about peace, comfort, happiness, etc, rather than finding someone for the night, or a few hours.  Others may be concerned because they are afraid of androstedienone causing them to be depressed.  To them, let me say this, if you know that you can tolerate A1 (not the steak sauce), BUY a bottle of this.  Even if you are single because the scent alone invites women to come closer and get to know you better.  It's all about helping a woman to feel comfortable with you and around you.  I've already been told that I am forbidden from leaving the house unaccompanied while I am wearing this scent.

My bride caught a whiff of me wearing this earlier and just walked right into my arms, curled her arms up on my chest so I could put my arms around her and she sighed contentedly.  THAT to me is Elementary Ch. 6, Dear Watson.

This one was a surprise winner for me. I originally thought I wouldn’t like it, but got a sample because I was curious and I’m still learning what scents work for me. As soon as I put it on it transported me back to when I was a young child snuggling with my very Old World grandfather. He would read bedtime stories to me. Stories like Moby Dick and Jonathan Swift’s satires (he couldn’t help it! He was a Literature Professor).  Elementary brought back feelings of peace, comfort, warmth, and sleepy-ness. Slept really well on the days that I tried it and also had nice vivid dreams.

This is nicely masculine, but still wearable for a woman. Smooth with a touch of spicy freshness. I think the spice is coming from the dragon's blood. A good type of spice and not overwhelming. Very cozy. It really does remind me of a pipe. A pipe in a wood paneled office. The sort with a large wooden desk, a tufted leather wing chair, lots of books, and one of those green banker's lamps. The long, long drydown is smoky and spicy and musky all together. I really like it. I don't wear it often, because I have to be in just the right mood for the phero, but I think they pair really well. When I wear it, I end up feeling very relaxed and sleepy, like being wrapped in a warm blanket and just the tiniest bit tipsy. Coziness and comfort in a bottle.

Not sure if it’s the pheromone or the scent or a combination of both, but when I wear it at night, it has consistently helped me to remember some clear, insightful and helpful dreams. Years ago, I had a friend who was great at dream symbolism and I learned some much about it from her. It’s always amazing to me that when I first scribble down the dream it looks like garbled nonsense. But once I start analyzing the symbols and meanings, suddenly the dream clicks together and it makes sense. Interpreting dreams is a bit like being a detective. You have symbols or clues that you have to put together to get figure out the mystery of your dream (or the mystery of your subconscious mind). So besides the great scent, I am really enjoying that it helps me to remember cool/useful/helpful dreams.
