Just received my very first Love Potion order yesterday and between being totally enamored with my purchases and trolling the forum reading your awesome reviews whilst waiting for my order to arrive, I put another order in today. What's a girl supposed to do?? I had used pheros since I was a teen with pretty pronounced success, but have always been put off by the scents other companies used, not to mention the limited selections for women elsewhere. And I'm a fragrance ADDICT and LUNATIC - I probably own several hundred niche fragrances alone - so to say that scent is the most important aspect of any environment I'm in is a gross understatement! I stopped utilizing pheros because of all this, but missed the effects I was getting. All this to say, I'm so so grateful for this site and Mara for offering such a vast array of amazing options. So incredible - seriously, I'm in heaven. My scent obsession has started to rub off on the husband too which is both great (we can indulge and enjoy together!) and horrible - (he keeps stealing my scents away from me!) I'm out of town for a few weeks because of work so I'll have to settle for playing with the sexier ones on my own for now. When we met I was wearing a lot of my own personal a-nol and EoW spiked scents and I'm fairly certain that had a large part to play in our, ahem, dramatic courtship. My man has claimed one of mine for his own, which I love, although one bottle he was sniffing and enjoying this afternoon (Wicked) got a firm "put it down" from me. I think he was just teasing me when he said "that's good, why can't I smell like that," but I'm not taking any chances. I have made a new order while waiting for a previous one to ship at least once. On our wedding day we wore the same fragrance purchased for the occasion (Histoires des Parfums Noir Patchouli), and he loved that idea so much he's started to go rummaging in my collection on the regular. What's mine is his, yada yada, but come on man! When I made the initial order the unscented trial pheros weren't on the site yet - so when those became available, I simply had to. Sorry bank account. Last night I finally took some potions on a test drive with my best guy friend I haven't seen in a few months because we are both constantly away for work. We have a romantic history so maybe it was a little evil, but I also feel totally safe with him so felt it was a good environment to see what kind of effects I would get. I wore a healthy dose of BAM in Sandalwood and Resins on my torso, a splash of straight a-nol, and Empathy Potion on my neck, wrists, and hair. He can be self-involved and a conversation hijacker given the smallest push, so I thought Empathy Potion would be perfect and I read somewhere in the forum it's best with a dash of a-nol to temper the crash. Covered up with a scent I already own and love. You guys, it was total madness. He was already at a table when I met him at the restaurant, and as soon as he saw me he was slackjawed, flushed totally red and said I smelled "insane". Now we've known each other for a decade and at this point are so close we're like siblings, so this was totally out of character and hilarious - for the first 10 minutes he couldn't even make eye contact with me and kept flipping through the menu and blabbing nonsensically. It was quite cute. At the bottom of beer number one, he finally was able to relax but kept making quiet aside comments about how gorgeous I looked, that I was glowing, that my skin looked perfect, almost more to himself than to me. Totally totally totally out of character for our relationship. The beers were flowing and we were both more relaxed and we ended up heading to a bar and sitting next to one another so I suppose the wafts were much more in his face and then all he wanted to talk about was sex and dating and sex and sex and sex, and kept saying that I had never looked better in my life, and if I ever were single again he was taking me to Mexico. All the while I'm laughing to myself thinking, Who the hell is THIS guy??? Just totally unreal for what our relationship is, and a side of him I'd never ever seen. Whew! It was fun and entertaining, but lesson learned - this shit is pow. Er. Ful. I'm not wearing this around willy nilly again! Nice to have a safe space to play around, no harm done.
