When the Dauphin first set eyes upon his bride-to-be in portraiture, it seemed mere art could not convey her poise, her hauteur and her pale luminous beauty.

They stood beneath the domed ceiling of Le Temple de l'Amour, surveying the English-style gardens and the beautiful day before them...a day, indeed, fit for La Reine.

"I want you to breathe in the air of this place, to know it is to know me," she told him. He nodded, gracious as always to his sovereign, and secretly smiled at the scent of her flushed skin beneath her simple dress, warmed by the sun and also her own fantasies as she caught the eye of her adored admirer as he passed by them taking a morning stroll with his hunting dogs.

Monsieur Fargeon thought to himself, "Yes, the fragrance must contain this, the aura of her desires."

A timeless personage, of history and scandal, a queen...here is a perfumed portrait of a legendary woman: Marie-Antoinette.

Within the elegance of Le Domaine de Marie-Antoinette there was always dancing, music, lively conversation, confidences and proclamations alike, but the beauty of the surroundings only enhanced that of its mistress.  Petit Trianon was Marie-Antoinette's private retreat, a place where she could shed her royal responsibilities and cherish her privacy — a place of pleasure and of cozy intimacy — as the Queen and her invited guests could enjoy the peace and quiet of its secluded design.

As soft as the delicate muslin dresses she favored – though some would say they were decidedly less than regal – as rich as those fragrances it was said she preferred, her scent commanding friends, enemies, lovers and rivals alike...a tribute to the original creation of Jean-Louis Fargeon: the famed fragrance Trianon and the woman for whom it was created. A decadent floral with touches of warmth, recalling that most infamous of royalty...iris, jasmine, rose and orange blossom upon a luxurious base of sandalwood and musk.
