Our scented tribute to the famous Scottish town of "runaway marriages," Gretna Green, whose official symbols include several plants we associate with the Holiday Season, most notably, Mistletoe! A romantic scent for encouraging kissing, and more.

Scotland has many charms...and one of them is as a popular destination for what is known in the UK as "runaway marriages," (we call them elopements on this side of the pond). This marriage-minded fragrance is named in honor of the famed town of Gretna Green, the first village over the border from England. In accordance with Scottish law, "irregular marriages" allowed for the officiation of anyone as long as two witnesses were present. Thus the blacksmith was the "anvil priest" for many a young and impetuous couple. In modern times, thousands travel every year to be wed over the anvil in Gretna Green.

Our scented tribute to the town features Mistletoe, another symbol of our inspirational location, and also long-utilized in holiday traditions...whomever may meet under the mistletoe must exchange a kiss. Mistletoe is, of course, also a parasite...but that's a detail far less romantic!

Our lovely Scottish green scent features a heart of Mistletoe (and its white berries are symbolized by a hint of ambergris), within a beautiful wedding bouquet of stephanotis (a traditional marriage blossom), bluebell, heather and wild clover, then made sweet and celebratory with a toast of honey mead to the happy couple.
