And ambergris usually smells on me like the matted fur of an animal that lives in a swamp and has never bathed. But this! Smells no-one-can-afford expensive, 1920s baroness, ... and yet it's BLATANTLY suggestive. It's a *classy* smutty though. Instantly invoked for me a wood-paneled, heavily turkish- carpeted, velvet-and-lace festooned boudoir... in which the lady has gone at it on every surface including the ceiling, twice each on Wednesdays. No man entering that room is getting out without getting pounded to shreds. Never smelled anything like it. The only thing it even remotely reminds me of is Closer-- this has that same extreme unapologetic "can you handle me? Don't think so" sexuality BUT with class. I didn't run to the sink to VOMIT first thing like I was afraid of. I did not eat a big meal before I tried it just in case. It is very old fashioned smelling and I bet if I smelled it on someone else I wouldn't mind it. It really reminded me of a Grandmas soap. Which isn't horrid...just not me. I still have a full sample of the original Potion Bastet and it's still very potent. I would say that CE has a little lighter scent initially then it dries down and the scent is so close to PB it's scary. Potion Bastet is still darker in nature for sure. That being said this scent still gets me just like Bastet. It haunts me and gives me a feeling of deja vu and lingers forever. The Civet is so kinky sweet smelling on me and it definitely has aphrodisiac qualities. Whenever I wear it my husband talks dirty. He talks dirty to me most of the time but when I'm wearing Cat's Eye the talk is even dirtier more suggestive. I've actually found myself saying "your going to do WHAT to me" What fun. I've also been layering this with All Hallows Eve which amps up the spice meter a notch. Sorry it's all gone but I did snag some samples yesterday. I give this scent 3 thumbs up. I get compliments every time I wear it what a pity there are only tiny vials of this left and this is a scent worthy of at least two large bottles. A tiny tiny dab on inner crook of one elbow, spread via wrists elsewhere, and I am exuding a twenty foot diameter cloud of devastating gorgeous bloomy hot honey and civit. Weird as civit is not usually very good on me (to put it mildly) but this makes me feel like cleopatra times cleopatra. Just stunning.
