  1. LP Black is one of my favorites too. It's for sure a darker version of LP original and an edible smelling ^physical hunger^ inducing scent. You're making me want to go smell Dior Addict again because I don't remember it smelling this way and now I'm curious. I tend to like the Dior scents, vaguely edible smelling as they are. I'm not familiar with silk tree flower but night queen is another name for night-blooming-jasmine.

Do you have a drop you wouldn't mind swapping for something else, cmartin1?

I apologize for the late reply, I was sucked into the college class vortex!

Sadly I don't have a drop left. I used every last bit of it, but still kept the bottle around until I moved in early August. That's how much I loved that stuff.

On a positive note, I must say that Yule Snuggle comes very close to Addict on me - enough that I think I will be treating myself to something larger than a sample size!

  2. I have received and tried my Yule Snuggle and Valentine's Chocolates, and I am in love. These scents both keep true to their description on my skin - a rarity indeed.

Valentine's Chocolates - yummy cocoa dust and sugars

Yule Snuggle - buttery rum and something like tonka or vanilla bean - yum!

They also help reduce the use of chocolates and pastries as stress therapy

  3. I couldn't resist and ended up posting before introducing myself - sorry about that, I'm just gaga for fragrance.

I was enabled by Bpal forumites as well. I found Bpal to be too "mature" for me - not that LPMP isn't - it's just that I am a youngish-looking petite girl and can't pull off scents that are smokey and incensey. I am reveling in the gourmands for now, but would like very much to find a way to do well with florals and greens and spices. I am looking forward to learning a lot from the great folks at LPMP and fellow forumites.

I live in Upstate NY, work in a library, studying to be a librarian - but wait, I am cool, really!! After all, I love the smellies

  4. Hi, cmartin1!

I tried both of these! I loved them and both wore them and boiled them in my scent burner.

I remember Valentine's Chocolate was a very rich chocolate smell like fudge. Layers of thick chocolate, and vanilla, and just thickness. It smelled like I could taste all the ingredients of a very thick brownie recipe. I only wore it a couple of times and burned the rest for parties. I noticed that it drew people wherever I put the burner which was awsome!

I also bought Yule Snuggle last Christmas and I loved that too. It smells like a lemony pound cake soaked with rum, which is one of my favorite treats that anyone can give me at Christmas, so if you get one you don't want, send it here!

Pied Piper is also a really good chocolate scent. It smells like an ice cream sundae, chocolate and banana and nuts and ice cream, Mmmmmm!

    Gennifer -

Thank you for those detailed reviews. I am going to love the Valentine's Chocolates! If the Yule doesn't work on my Xmas-loving BF, the scent will be yours :)

Pied Piper sounds like something I should try too. Thanks again!

  5. This sounds yummy. Would you say that it is similar to Dior's Addict? I was a huge fan of this fragrance before it became discontinued. The notes that stayed with me were the bourbon vanilla, tonka bean, and sandalwood; it was delicious! I have been searching for a replacement for this ever since women's fragrances veered away from gourmand a few years ago, which brought me to Mara Fox  Thank goodness for her and her crew!

    Description of Addict from Fragrance.com:

Dior Addict Perfume by Christian Dior, Dior addict indulges the senses with sumptuous silk tree flower, voluptuous night queen flower, and luscious bourbon vanilla combined with sandalwood and tonka bean to evoke a feeling of passion in the woman who wears it. Sensual. Soft. Feminine.
