  1. No worries! Just order. Some things are already moving rather, um, fast, and I'M NOT EVEN DONE PROGRAMMING YET!!!

Thank you! I picked up a sampler because the valerian root I took for bedtime tonight started working stronger and faster than I thought it would, sweet Jeebs. Can't focus. Just point, click.

  2. So I think everyone on the board knows how I feel about LPMP's linen note: it's the love of my life. It's in one of my absolute favorites (With Every Breath) and when everything else has died down and all I am left is the linen note, I spend a good chunk of my day smelling my wrists. It's silky and sort of cool, like the other side of the pillow when you're feeling a bit toasty. Soft and sweet. It's my favorite thing ever.

I also feel the same way with lavender. I know that a lot of girls around my age tend to lean away from lavender - people older than me do the same thing! Lavender can be medicinal (love it) or floral (love that too!)

This is basically my perfect blend and is similar to something I wanted to make as a PE. It's very much a cousin of With Every Breath, if not an older sister. The blend of the lavender notes with the linen is absolutely exquisite. There's nothing medicinal or herbal about the lavender used in this blend, so if that's not your style, I think you'll be able to wear this.

Another thing that I love about this blend (and blends that use linen) is that there isn't that "sun-dried linen smell". A lot of places will pair a cottony scent with a citrus, and that just drives me up the wall. Clothes that have been left out to dry in the sun and in the wind do not smell like some orange/lemon combination: they smell clean, totally and completely. This linen note doesn't have that, as far as my little nose can tell. If there is a hint of citrus, it is way in the background.

This is the scent of quiet sleep, perhaps even the moment when you're awake and you take the time to stretch, stretch, stretch, and you absolutely love your body because it can stretch so perfectly, and you love the sheets and the dim light coming in from the window. No alarm clock to jostle you out of bed, just being fully rested. It's romantic in a very personal way.

  3. This one I thought would be a sure thing for me: I'm a nanny, so I am exposed to a lot of traditional baby scents. My favorite is Burt's Bees Baby Bee and I think I imagined this one would be similar. Unfortunately, the milk stands too far out. It's nice enough - the milk does not sour on me - but there's a hint of sharpness that seems out of place. When I think of babies, sharp is not what comes to mind. It could be just how my skin interacts with the perfume.

I'll keep it around and see if it changes at all for me.

  4. Mild stoned feeling aside, this is just fantastic. *

When I first put it on, the peppermint really wafted. Normally I really love peppermint but the combination of the fruit/floral and the peppermint was a little bit much. Luckily, the peppermint burnt off really quickly for me and now all that is left is this absolutely beautiful aquatic floral. I love cucumber in perfume and the combination of the floral with the cucumber is just to die for. I'm wondering if this is something I can get away with in the colder months, when I'm usually reaching for creamy sweetness! I could wear this every day.

If you like floral with cucumber and your skin loves cucumber, this is one you have to try.

    * I am always stoned with Alpha-Androstenol. It's pleasant but always a little surprising how I react to it: instead of bouncing about, I mellow way down. "Cool as a cucumber" definitely works in this situation. I know others will get super enthused on life and energetic, but my reaction is to curl up in a state of blissful fuzz and just let the rest of the world rotate around me.

  5. Do the foodie scents calm or increase cravings for chocolate during PMS? I am a chocolate ho during my PMS and was thinking maybe if I just smelled candy or choc., I wouldn't jones so hard and over do it.

I think that would be really interesting to test that, and maybe you'd get a placebo effect?

I believe women crave chocolate during their period or the time around it because chocolate has magnesium, which a lot of women who have awful PMS are lacking. Milk chocolate has very little magnesium in it, which may be part of the reason some people can binge on it, but if you really want to up the magnesium in your diet and see if it soothes you, try raw cacao in a smoothie with some agave or honey. It'll help you sleep and stay sane. It's the only thing that I've found to make my PMDD manageable.

And then, if the chocolate perfume doesn't make it better on its own, you smell like chocolate while eating chocolate and life is good

  6. The funny thing is that I didn't get the cinnamon in this. It turned out to be a a lightly creamy and slightly sugary scent on my skin. I'll probably keep my sample for future reference.

The cinnamon that I get is very faint and usually fades off, leaving me with a delicious sugary linen smell. Not that awful "sun-dried linen" that companies make with migraine inducing citrus and barely any linen smell - just delicious linen. It's sexy and I can't get enough of the linen note that LP uses!

  7. I've tried Liquid Fluorite in the past and I was a little disappointed. I don't know if I was put off by the scent, but I didn't notice any phero effects either, which was sort of obnoxious for me because I had a ton of class work to do on that day and to top it off, I didn't really smell very good.

I'm not really a big fruit person (I like gourmand and floral, or gourmand-and-floral) so I knew that I was taking a chance on it, but I thought that the bergamot would be the one that amped on me. Unfortunately, it was the papaya. I can't handle papaya when a slice is sitting right in front of me - that's how much papaya and I do not jive together.

On me, LF smelled like kid's juice.

As for the pheromone, it's assumed failure has more to do with the fact that I was anxious and unhappy with the papaya bomb I had just been assaulted with. I've heard some really amazing things about the focus pheromone but the delivery just wasn't right for me.

  8. Oh man, I think I'm going to need a big bottle of this one if it's dreamy, creamy lavender.

Although, I'm afraid it might bring my baby fever to an extreme high. Yesterday I was just like...Yeah, I need a baby. Right now.

(Of course, when I playfully mentioned to my mother that I could fit a baby in my apartment, she responded with a firm "you could also fit a college degree" :/)

  9. My depression is pretty debilitating at night these days. I always have good results with A-Nol boosting my mood, but I'm worried that it would have an energizing effect? I'm a fussy sleeper - just to make life a little more fun. Should I stick with B-products or Tranquility instead?

:/ The earliest appointment I could make to adjust my anti-depressants was June 2, so I'm trying my best to get through life on 20mg at the moment.
