  1. Fiancee??

Did I know you had become engaged?? Congrats girl! Now go and have fun and I report back as soon as he has gone ;)

    May

Oh, I'm sorry......in the hustle and bustle, I may have forgotten to make an announcement on any of the forums we're on together......yes, we got engaged on 11/11, which was the one-year anniversary of the day we met. ;) This will be number 4, if we make it to the altar. Yes, after 3 bad ones, I'm willing to try again.....that either makes me really smart or really stupid......I haven't figured out which.... :)

I'll report on the honeycomb tomorrow, after he leaves for work.....stay tuned.....

  2. OOh a Dolly test... ;):):) Make sure you to report back, I'm itching to know! - I don't have a TG to try it out on and am working (all the hours god sends...) from home at the moment so no testing opportunites. ;)

    May

Oh yeah, my fiancee is coming over tonight! Heheheheheeeeeee ;) He's gonna be visiting for the next three days.....tonight--Honeycomb, tomorrow--LP Red, and Saturday--LP black.....it's going to be a fun weekend!! :)

I can say this already.....I just applied a LOT of EW (those of you who know me, know that I usually swim in it), and covered it with the honeycomb, and I can't even detect the stank of EEEEEWWWW..... :)

  3. May,

Thanks for the info! I have a sample of Sabra's Secret, so I need to go try it again and refresh my memory. I prefer darker, heavier resinous scents, so it sounds like I might have to reconsider Vain and go in another direction. :)

I just tried this one today....I also prefer darker resinous scents, but this one would be nice for a day when I want something lighter, but still spicy. I can't compare it to Sabra, because I haven't tried that one.

When I first put this one on, I was trying to place what it smells like, and I finally nailed it down. It smells like the old "bazooka" bubblegum.....no joke. It does. As it starts to dry though, the spiciness starts to come out, and it begins to darken. I think it is spicy and unusual enough to turn a few heads, but not resinous enough to make you smell like you're wearing incense (which is not always a bad thing, as those are the scents that I tend to favor). I do like this, and am thinking of getting a full bottle for days when I don't want to be quite so dark.......

  4. I shook mine not so much because I read the directions to do so but simply because I saw the "settled layer" (so I was correct just by luck and not by virture of reading; not a good balance for a teacher, huh?)... and it is indeed a beautiful scent and definitely rich in terms of the interplay of scents. Still, for me, it's "texture" is thin (yes, the oil is thick; that's not what I mean :) ) and the notes are "high" and slightly sweet. When I breath in the scent, it enters as a thin, light ribbon of scent, with this even lighter layer on top. What I mean, I think, is the same as the "brightness" to which Dolly alluded... and the airiness which May perceives.

My scent-texture preference, I think, is the muskier/spicier/darker/sharper scents (I love the thickness of these scents on my tongue and in my nose) and these "brighter"/"airier"/sweeter scents tend to powder on my skin (not that PheroGirl "powders" on me; just that scents of . So, I layer my PheroGirl with Dark Seductions (which I absolutely love*love*love and must stock up on before its gone forever! Oh, the limited edition aspect of the perfumes is making me feel like I need to collect this scent as if it were a precious wine) or Hecate (almost too sharp at first sniff but the dry-down is nice). I think I have noted in May's other responses a similar preference for the darker scents (am I right, May?).

I wonder if I should note that I haven't yet posted a review/response regarding PheroGirl so it hasn't been me using the term "thinner" prior to this post; I am only offering forth my perception and am not intending to speak for anyone else. This may not have been what they were meaning at all.

Well, you were "spot on" with what I was getting at with the "brightness" description. I too tend toward the darker side with the scents....May and I have similar tastes, actually. I like LP red and black, which I just received. On the way I have Isis, samples of Medium, Dark Seductions (per your suggestion, as a matter of fact), Athena, and even Rajah (I know its supposed to be for men, but somedays I want a lot of resinous feeling).

Have you tried the sugared honeycomb? It is not dark or spicy, but is a rich, sexy scent. It only turned slightly powdery on me after about 5 hours.

Oh, and BTW......I know what you mean about the blended family thing......had that situation in my third marriage, and it was indeed difficult. My current fiancee has two children in the same age range as my son, so I may be dealing with it again, also. Good luck!

  5. As a fellow newbie I have noticed this too Dolly. More than any others I have tried, these perfumes can smell almost totally different in the bottle and/ or when you first put them on to the way they smell on dry-down.

You really need to try them on skin and let them sit a while to get an idea. That's why I didn't "get" Sugared Amber or Sugared Honeycomb straight away. I was too impatient and didn't give them a chance to bloom. ;)

    May

Well, I usually wear a new scent for a whole day for that particular reason (unless it really starts to offend me). My skin chemistry can totally change any perfume......sometimes it goes horribly awry..... :) But, with the sugared amber, it was delicious both wet and completely dry.... ;)

  6. I've posted this elsewhere but I think I should put it here.

You already have a fantastic base for a phero blend in Sugared Honeycomb. That stuff is sex in a bottle without adding any pheros - add the pheros and Ka-Powie!!

    May

PS Sorry for not being around much in the last few I've got three deadlines all co-inciding on the same date... :)

I'm going to try putting on some EW and covering it with the Honeycomb tomorrow. Let's see what happens.....

  7. Oh my. I just got my first order. This is sooooo divine. I got the solid form, and when I first opened the jar, it reminded me of Christmas at my grandmother's house...potpourri and candles....I am assuming it is the patchouli. Very nice. I put it on, and the patchouli is not as strong on my wrist. After it sits a few minutes, the vanilla and cinnamon start coming through. I really REALLY like this. Sexy, but not overpowering.

Actually, after sitting and alternately sniffing the jar and then my wrist, I think it is the combination of patchouli and rose that I am picking up.

  8. I am a self-proclaimed amber maniac. :) So, I just got my trial size Sugared Amber. I like it. It is clean and fresh and powdery. I get a background scent that almost smells like soap bubbles. I don't know why, but that is how it comes across on me.

OK, the soapy smell has now faded. The longer it sits, the more resinous it seems to get.

  9. This is seriously sexy. For my money this should be the fragrance for the next phero blend. On it's own it knocks my, and others, socks off. With pheros? My, oh my, oh my....

    May

Oh heavens.....I AGREE wholeheartedly May! Phero Girl is very nice, but a little too "bright" for my personal preferences. You and I both tend to like similar scents, and this sugared honeycomb is absolutely intoxicating!

It is very buttery smelling at first. In the bottle, to me, it smells like theater popcorn butter! As it dries and mellows, it becomes sweeter and rich smelling. This turns me on! I can't wait to see what it does to my fiancee!

  10. Oh, I like this one too. I received my first package and absolutely adore both the red and the black, both of which I received in solids. The black, to me, seems not only a little "darker" than the red, but also quite a bit milder. Buttery, silky, and smoooooooth. It kind of sneaks up on you. I am going to have to get both in oil too, I think.

  11. Oh my. I just got my first order. This is sooooo divine. I put it on, and the patchouli is not as strong on my wrist. After it sits a few minutes, the vanilla and cinnamon start coming through. I really REALLY like this. Sexy, but not overpowering.

  12. Ok. so I just got my first package.....BIG HUGS to Mara and Danna!! I shook my trial vial of Phero Girl until it was cloudy, and I put it on the back of one hand, and Sugared Honeycomb on the back of the other.

They are both absolutely lovely, and they are quite similar, but I think that if I had to pick one, I personally prefer the Honeycomb. While both are "rich", I think I would describe the difference as more of a "brightness" in the Phero Girl, and more of a perfumey smell.....maybe it is the orange blossom?

  13. I can't wait to try this one! I just had to get one of the last bottles of Isis before it sold out! Also got a sample of "medium", since they are supposed to be similar. I just adore the darker scents!

Mara and Danna, shame on you......I am going to go broke in here! There are so many more I want to try! Soon I'm going to need a sign...."Will Work for Love Potion Perfumes"....

  14. Thanks for your responses! That was exactly the info I needed! Florals are not really my thing, as a rule, so I may have to pass on the "dark seductions". I think I might snatch up Isis before it is sold out though.......if my pocketbook will allow me to.....hmmmmm......decisions, decisions.....

  15. Hi. I am kind of teetering on the brink of getting some of the "dark seductions", mainly because I am an amber lover. Anybody have any ideas about it? Coudn't find much on the forum. Maybe some of you who have tried it could give me some opinions?

Having a hard time deciding if I should go with Isis or Dark Seductions.... I'm conflicted......HELP!!

  16. Well, I have been with quite a few different types of men, an I can say that a man's natural scent is important to me. I have been with those that could PROBABLY get by with taking a shower once every 2-3 days, and still smell fine, and those whose smell really turned me off within a few hours of bathing.

My current fiancee can go outside and do yard work all day, come inside, and I am just all over him. He never smells "funky". Always just a sweet skin scent. Mmmmmmmmm. He can spend one night at my house, and after he leaves, I can smell his scent all over my pillows and sheets.

And, OMG, after he is on the beach drinking up the sun all day? He doesn't use scented suntan oils......just unscented. We went to the beach last summer, and when we came inside in the evening, his smell made me want to just eat him alive!

  17. I love this just as much as Phero Girl. They are similar as they are both predominately honey scents. But this ones a richer, almost buttery and pheromone like scent. The beeswax in it gives it a very raw smell. this scent blends with my skin and doesn't seem "perfume like."It is very sexy and definitely reminds me of a roll in the hay.I have the urge to swim in this!!!!

OK, that's it....I'm ordering the full-size right now......not even waiting for my sample!!!

  18. Another regular user of Essence of Woman and other pheromomes here. Like Ink I tend to use quite a bit of EoW but I find that I get better results if I use less than many ladies do - or several hours after application.

I like Phero Girl, but to be honest although I find the fragrance really lovely, it is a bit too delicate for my personal preference I tend to like big, deep and rich perfumes, that others find hard to miss. I tend to wear what a lot of people would consider to be "evening" perfumes during the day. But, most people, unlike me, prefer a more subtle fragrance - so I reckon this will be popular.

    May

I haven't orderd the phero girl yet, and this is one of the reasons why. I like light scents occassionally, but I tend more toward the "darker side". I like dark ambers, rich vanillas, musks, etc. I don't wear at lot at one time, so I'm not knocking people over or anything, but for me, the darker the scent, the better. That's why I only bought samples of a couple of the sugared scents......not sure how well they'll go over with me. I am considering Isis, though, before it sells out.....

  19. Now that I have tried both Sugared Amber and Sugared Honeycomb I am sure Whiskers will really like the Amber. On me, Honeycomb and Amber are from a similar family. The amber is less sweet and has more powder.

I really did not "get" sugared amber at first. I had to wear it for a day to understand it. It is rich and extremely deep and I normally associate those qualities darker perfumes. This is sweet, but sexy too. It's not candy bar or (for fellow Brits) the honeycomb you get in crunchie bars or maltesers (which I was for some reason expecting) but this is thick, punguent, oozing, high quality country honeycomb - taken straight from the hive.

By the way it has been said above that men "react" to this - from a comment made to me today I can also say that Sapphic ladies seem to "react" to this too.

    May

I'm getting samples of both the sugared honeycomb and sugared amber.....I can't wait......they may even be good together......

  20. I had no idea Elf Farts could smell like that.

But what the heck would your reply be if someone said: "You smell nice what are you wearing?" :)

    May

I may use that line just for the sake of seeing the look on someone's face..... :)

  21. Well, I finally decided to come visit, and decided to place my first order. Some of you probably recognize me from pherotalk...... :) I see some familiar faces here :) In short, my name is Dolly, age 40, female, living in the deep south. Love amber-based scents, and getting ready to give my credit card a good workout!!
