  1. My order came in the mail today. This really is a beautiful scent, all grown up and sophisticated. I'm not sure I can do it justice. It reminds me a bit of the perfume that my mama used to wear when I was little. It was called Nurell, and has long since been discontinued. I think I shall give this bottle to her as a present. It really is absolutely gorgeous though! :arf:

  2. Any of you tried the Popularity Potion, one of the unscented pheros?

I was hoping for some experiences and reviews of it before I splurge on a full-size bottle. It sounds like kind of a glamorous potion that could be fun.

    Darbla

I have a bottle Darbla! I still just learning about pheros, but I'll try it out over the next few days and see if I get anything fun to report :2204:

  3. I thought that I needed to write about the absolutely wonderful customer service :D in an open thank you letter!

All of Mara and Danna's perfumes are amazing, and they offer great service to match! Several months ago I sent them an email asking about a custom perfume as a much needed pick me up. I expected the end results to be good, but I never realized that the scent would end up being as gorgeous as it is!

I had a very hard time putting what I was looking for into words, but they did a wonderful job of matching it anyway. The end result is a lovely combination of cherry and almond, with more notes than I could list here, and the scent is divine!

Thank you for such wonderful service; its more than I could have asked for!

  4. I could not find a thread on this - but let me know if there is one. First off the bat I love the solid perfumes here. Easy and convenient to carry, you can carry them in your hand luggage on flights with zero fuss as they are not liquids, they smell great, help you feel fresh and revived in stuffy airports and the formulation here means they leave a lovely glow-like sheen on your skin when applied.

The solid perfumes really are convenient! I have solids in LP Red and now Sugared Roses. Since I'm pretty klutzy, its nice not to worry about spilling anything. Plus, the scent of Sugared Roses really is beautiful. I think I'd use the word elegant to discribe it. It is a soft, gentle scent that is in no way overpowering. I think this would be one of my perfumes of choice for dressier occassions.

  5. Right now I think my favorites are: (but the ranking always seems to be changing!)

    1 Sabra's Secret

    2. Allegro

    3. LP Red

    4. Betrothal

    5. LP White

  6. Also, want to try Fortune Cookie (but only for the 'surprise', not a real big fan of almond scented anything).

Oh, that's so sad. The almond is the reason I want to try Fortune Cookie so much! (of course, the surprise doesn't hurt either) When I was little, my mama used to give me her empty almond and vanilla extract bottles to "play house" with. I pretty much just ended up smelling the empty bottles most of the time. Yum!!! Brings back happy memories for me.

  7. All of the upcoming scents sound really nice! I think that I am going to try Taxed (the puppy on the label is absolutely adorable) and possibly Allegro. But I am going to have to wait until I get paid at the end of the month :( ; at least I am going to try and wait. I guess I just have to experiment with the wonderful scents I already have until then!

Oh, and congratulations to Katz, Dolly, Ali, and Scourger for coming up with such wonderful sounding scent ideas!!

  8. I don't think I quite "get it" with all these characters. All I ever see is the image and the accessories merch - including for Hello Kitty. Is there a cartoon series or series of comic books or what?

I can see they are cute images and some, ie Hello Kitty, have almost become iconic images - which is proven by the fact I recognise it without understanding what it is about. But is there an original vehicle behind this?

I am confuzzled.... :( (and I seem to be pulling that face a lot lately...)

    May

    Hi May!

There were Hello Kitty cartoons in the 70s and 80s. CBS had a show in the US called Hello Kitty and Friends in the really early 90's, although I don't think that many episodes actually aired. I guess she's more popular on stationary and other stuff, then on tv! I think I even remember seeing her on a credit card once; I work retail. I don't really know much about Chococat though.

I hope this helps a little!

  9. I was digging through my samples this morning, trying to figure out which perfume to wear, when I came across one I'd never smelled before. Sugared cherries! (Hopefully I didn't accidentally miss a previous review for this)

The cherries smell really sweet. They reminded me of the frozen cherry Kool-aid popsicles that I used to make when I was little. (I mean that is the best way possible) In the bottle, the scent of cherries was very strong, but once the perfume dried down on my skin the smell became lighter and oh so sweet. The wonderful smell lasted for hours and I caught myself smelling my wrist a couple of times through out my day. I definately think its worth a try!
