All who dwelled in Running Fox Gulch quaked in the presence of one man…and it wasn’t the sheriff, nor the bandits who occasionally rode into town to attempt a robbery of the bank or the payroll of the silver mine which was the reason the town was founded.  No, it was Rance Maddock, the fastest gun in five counties.  He would just as soon shoot a man as look at him, and could do so quicker than anyone…which was why he wasn’t dead…yet.  Rance didn’t seem to care when he was due to meet his maker, enjoying the dread he caused every time he walked into the saloon.  But there was one woman who thought she could tame him, thought that underneath his black hat his heart wasn’t black at all…that he was a man running from his past who could find comfort and shelter in her arms…maybe even love.  But Tallulah, the town madam, was also a person with a past, and it was riding toward Running Fox even now, soon to threaten all she held dear.  Can she convince Rance he not only possesses the soul of a hero, to face the villain she knows is coming for her, but that she is worthy of his love?
