Sugar Skull - Calavera

 

Perhaps the most recognizable iconography associated with Dia de los Muertos is that of the sugar skull - la calavera - a symbol of death transformed into a confection which enables the living to lighten their hearts and laugh at Death. This is our luminously crystalline take on the famous sweet treat which is tangy and refreshing but also mindful of tradition and of the tribute to those who have passed from our sight but remain in our hearts always. Three types of lemon essential oils and lemony Copal resin are sweetened with white and muscovado sugars, star anise EO and a drop of delicious vanilla.

LEMON ~ Energizing, uplifting. Longevity, faithfulness, fidelity, friendship. Used to attract spirits.
COPAL ~ Love, purification, cleansing.
SUGAR ~ Attracts love, luck, sweetness and riches. Lust inducing, wishes granted.
STAR ANISE ~ Sexual potency, cleansing, wards away nightmares, protective, purification, happiness, youth, psychic powers, luck, calming, soothing, meditation. Wedding rituals.
VANILLA ~ Aphrodisiac, inspires happiness, playfulness, sexual arousal, lust, is vitalizing.

Autumn-Winter collection, October 2022
 

This year’s Autumn-Winter collection features an inspired collaboration with three dear friends of Latin American heritage: Israel Diaz and Brenda Castillo from Mexico, and Sacha Delgado from Puerto Rico, with the creation of an affectionate and mindful salute to the hallowed holiday observance of Dia de los Muertos, which is now celebrated in various countries and has taken root in popular culture worldwide. The scents of this celebration - to honor those loved ones who have passed on and remember their lives, as well as to remind the living that Life is sweet and should be enjoyed in the embrace of friends and family - can be found within these 13 fragrances, all aspects of traditions which stretch back (in some cases) centuries. Meditative and delicious, warm and ornate, and even a bit spooky - we hope you enjoy these lovingly-crafted fragrances and allow them to add a little MAGIC to your life!
