  1. Mmm, a nice dark pumpkin blend, a little spicy but without the sweet dessert quality you usually see with foodie pumpkins. Getting a little of that vanilla/marshmallow root on my skin—less dark now. Also, less pumpkin, more spice. Booze creeps into the background, then a few minutes later the dragon’s blood. A surprisingly quiet scent for all that resiny incense stuff going on! Eventually it does go a bit plastic + incense... hmm, I just don't know. I love it in the sample, but I'm not sure how I feel about it on me.

Man I need a scent locket.

  2. You guys just aren't allowed any good scents this month. I can't buy anything. This month i predict Mara utilises notes such as: old banana peel, turnip, french fry grease, fish, boiled egg. It will be a genuine horror collection.

Yes i know, that's really selfish!

I'm right there with you; my perfume budget is locked up until December. :Emoticons04284:

  3. Ohhhhhh just lovely. So cool and refreshing and pretty, the perfect hot summer day scent, girly but not childish. And, to me at least, it definitely smells like strawberry lemonade! A strong contender for a bottle purchase.

  4. I just retested it again, the smell of old man's sweaty feet fades in 20 minutes, and I start getting more pumpkin. At that stage it is wearable even with my wonky skin chemistry. Does not feel like my type of scent, but worth testing more.

I can definitely say this about ISFH: the longer you have it on, the better it gets. Just a matter of deciding whether waiting for that stage is worth it!

  5. I'll back up the other reviewers on this one; I do get a "lozenge" scent. A specific one, actually: Bach Rescue Pastilles in Black Currant, although it's a juicier scent in Plum Dandy. It's not a bad smell by any means, but not a favorite LP, I think.

  6. Have you ever tested something over and over and over and you still don't know what to make of it? Yeah, that's ISFH for me.

Right out of the vial, I get butter with some pumpkin-y spices. It smells a little odd: a bit fake, almost like a candle smell. On my skin, though, the spice really blooms. Apple-pumpkin at the front, vanilla-cream in the background. I asked my brother to sniff this for me because I wasn't really sure what to think. He was surprised when I said this was a dessert foodie; he said he smelled more of an "herbs and spices" perfume. I agree that it might not be obvious-- when I was sniffing this without looking at the notes, it took me several tries before I identified the butter for what it was. Before that I was just getting pumpkin candle.

Happy ending, after a few hours ISFH smooths out to a really lovely vanilla/cream scent. Very tasty! I love it, but I wish it didn't take me several hours to get there.

  7. Soie et Fourriere and I do not work well together. To me, this smells a bit like hugging your wealthy grandmother-- soft old skin and cold cream and eighty years of class. A woman you'd probably be quite fond of (and impressed by), but I'm not sure I want to smell like her. So I guess the scent is pretty true to the description: old-fashioned luxury. Just can't see myself in it!

  8. Spell oils aren't really my jam, so I can afford to hold off on the NRs until next month when some reviews have rolled in. Definitely a good thing; now I can knock some items off my wishlist!

And a bottle of Upstairs, Downstairs as the prize in my cereal box! So much happiness. :D

  9. Candy Apple Cutie is a wonderfully true scent, all apple and sweetness! Goes on wet with a bright apple snap, then settles down into cozy caramel. Magnificent and very snuggly! I'm sad to only have a sample vial of this, I loooooooove it.

  10. This isn't a perfume that would ever have caught my eye, so I'm thrilled to have a freebie of it! A cloud of peppermint and linens and soft sweetness. Absolutely lovely and comforting, though the peppermint also gives it a cool bite. Once it dries, peppermint backs down and lavender and amber take hold. I have to reiterate, it's very cloud-like, light and powdery and... POOFY.

  11. Very true to description, a nice airy ginger-orange-peach, quite light and pretty. Effervescent, almost, though it doesn't smell carbonated. My mother, who is normally pretty reserved about my perfume oils, complimented this one as soon as I sat down next to her. A big win in my book!

  12. I am so shocked that there are only two reviews for this glorious LP! I'm glad someone was nice enough to pass along a sample.

Sugared Nag Champa brings a heavy-duty incense smell-- I should probably never wear this in public, as it is full-on headshoplicious, but my god it's delicious! Somehow it's incredibly sexy without actually being sexual, if that makes sense. This is one of my favorite sleep blends, such a thick and comforting scent. I basically just want to roll around in it.

  13. Welcome, Bellumed!

And, breathe a deep, relaxing breath; allowing for the calming assurance that 19 bottles of Upstairs Downstairs remain in stock! :)

Thank you for the reassurance! And I'm glad you could pick some up after all, MissHazel.
