Welcome to the Forum!! Please forgive me for being late....this is a fantastic group of people on here who are willing and having the knowledge to help in any way!! I am fairly new so the words of wisdom I will give to you are to have an open mind about different notes and perfumes that you would normally not go for. Some of the ones I thought I would love...I like...and some of the ones I thought I would not like...I love!! Best wishes on your new endeavor!!

Loves Truck and Birkey: The trading post is awesome, isn't it? I'm really enjoying it. Wow, you came so close to winning at Ebay, Birkey! That's a lot all at once to shell out tho between orders. Auctions are just too crazy making for me....

I was relieved in the end I did not win because I would have had to give up a lot of things I was planning on ordering...yes, I am loving the trading post!!! I bought a lot! Managed to get an X Appeal, some sold out phero enhanced fragrances, as well as some that were on my list of fragrances I wanted! Goddesslynne also had an UN Drop Your Guard...I was very happy to get that! I don't like auctions either..I have a hard time waiting on things, especially these perfumes!! lol Recieved my parcel today and I am in love with both New and LP White!!

OMG I totally forgot about that one... it was soooo long. The last time I checked it was like $215... what did it go for?

 

And my latest "a-HA" moments have been in perusing the Trade Forums... there's lots of great things to be had (always something new to love!) so that may be your next 'unexpected source' of goodies!

 

I know you will be stalking the Postman now that you got your notice! I sure did!

It went for 406.99! Up until the last few minutes it was at 315.00...I stepped away to answer the phone and when I got back it was over and the winning bid was 406.99!!

I'm going to start looking at the trade boards more now. Heather got me set up for it today. If all goes ok, goddesslynne has a Backstage Pass w/PP 3/4 full bottle for sale and I'm getting that.

The fact that you scored a Blush from AF more than makes up for being pushed back a few days "in line"! Blush is incredible and it sold out fast. There were members that probably had just gotten their samples and had little time to test let alone jump on a FB. I was a lucky one when it came to Blush, fortunately! You can see in earlier posts here I missed out on a couple of goodies I wanted, but I was quickly reassured that at LP there's always something else to love as much (or more) than what you think you missed out on.

 

Regarding the ship time. Trust me, I placed like 5 or 6 separate orders between the end of March and mid April (the more I researched and read the more I had to have!). I wanted SO badly to see that shipping notice but I kept pushing myself back with each order. Turned right around and did nearly the same thing the last 2 weeks of April (this time I "only" did 3 or 4 separate orders) Yes, it pushes you back a bit (but think of all the craziness and headaches on Mara's end if she had all of us impulse-buying all the time, and then trying to ship each and every one!) BUT when it does ship it's fast and free! Then, when you get your one big order, there's much to keep you busy... testing and layering and whatnot (along with LPMP Continuing Ed, the forums and more shopping!) Continue to make your "wish list" (and THAT can get out of hand quickly), and desperately try to exercise self-control and resist panic buying (again, I just went through this and I am no angel). My 'wishlist' for May has changed several times (edits, subs and new things I suddenly "find") but so far so good. I will place my ONE order sometime later this week. I'm sure Mara and John will probably breathe a sigh of relief when they see my ONE order (saying perhaps, "she finally gets it!") but then there are the newest over-zealous LP addicts to fill the void I leave. I guess there's some symmetry here somewhere Thank goodness Mara, John and the LP staff have patience and a sense of humor... and their customer service is simply stellar.

LOLOL...reading your post you sound exactly like me! At least now I know I'm not the only one driving them nuts.. I try so hard to wait on orders to come before placing another, but then something I want gets moved to Artfire and bam-another order! I must have 30-40 sheets of paper in front of my computer with my wishlist and want list and need list, revised at least 100 times. Now my collection is getting big enough that I have a few things to choose from. I just got my shipping notice-woohooo!!!!!!! I have been a little down about not winning the ebay collection, but this makes up for it!!! Can't wait to try it all!!!! Thanks LoveStruck55...I'm excited for me too!

Birkeys: No worries...I'm still trying to learn how to do the whole quote/multi quote button thing. Glad you got some of the La Sylphide. I have tried LFN (in Unbridled ), but haven't tried LFM. I got the Tobacco Berry because I think it will layer nicely with some of the fragrances. Did you get your shipping notice/and or order yet? Let me know how you like the LP White.....I wasn't as nutz over it as I thought I would be....My daughter snagged it tho, lol! Still loving the X Appeal.

I haven't gotten a shipping notice yet.. It should be any day now, though I hope!! I also got a Blush from Artfire and X Appeal invoiced the same day so maybe that put me back further in the line. It is sheer torture waiting for orders to come..lol...did you do a review yet of the LP White? how did it differ from what you were expecting? I'm glad your daughter liked it!! I live with my parents right now and my mom and I are always "going shopping" in each other's creams, perfumes, clothes, etc..

I tried to go back and edit to include your quote and I couldn't do it...I will have to check out Tobacco Berry. I was so afraid of missing out on La Sylphide...placed my order very quickly..I also got an All Hallows Eve Virgin..gonna have it boosted. I got the last All Hallows Eve w/Lumina back in March and I love it!! I wanted to have a backup.. Congrats on scoring a La Sylphide, Olderbutwiser!!

La Sylphide is beautiful - maybe one of my all-time favorites! I find that I don't reach for it as often now that the weather's gotten warmer, but if you have the chance, you should definitely invest in a bottle!

I invested in two!! There were only 3 left before I placed my order so only 1 left now..if any! I am so happy this came back for me to snatch up..the notes sound wonderful and I have heard great things about LFM!!

The lovely ballerina has returned - La Sylphide w/ LFM, "6" bottles in stock as of this writing. I just got it in my shipment today - smells light, airy and graceful. Will see how it morphs post travel shock.

Did you check out some of the pages overs at The Reading Room? The Pheromone List and WikiList? I'd be totally lost if not for that info, lol....I feel like I'm trying to cram stuff into my head for a chemistry class, he he.

I have been on this site so much I have it almost memorized!! lol If I had put this much effort into my studies I would have graduated from college with a 4.0! My apartment needs cleaning, the laundry needs washing..meanwhile I am on this computer reading about pheromones and checking lists to see if anything has disappeared or been added. I have commercial perfumes out the ying yang and still I can't get enough of Mara's...I keep smelling my arms when I have one on..they are like addictive. What I love most is the fact that they don't contain all of those chemicals. I'm so wanting to live more naturally and get away from all of that stuff. I can't wait either to see what LP White is like..the notes sound fabulous! I really need to try some more of my samples so I can write reviews..I am stuck on Gypsum White and wear it constantly (I am a creature of habit). That will be my goal this week..to try at least 3 new and write a review of them...

This is one of my favorites! I can't stop wearing it long enough to test or wear anything else..lol I finished my sampler and stuck a swab down in and scraped it so I would have it to smell until my order arrived (I know I'm nuts!) and I have already used half of my bottle since Monday...there is something in it which I can't get enough of and I don't know what it is because from everything I have read...it all seems to combine very nicely with nothing majorly standing out! If I knew what contributed to its wet smell I would get a PE with that in it....I am not familiar with some of the notes...does anyone else know if there is one or more notes which are standing out when wet? One of the florals perhaps?

I got one of the two bottles yesterday...I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it...and then thought about it and was going to get the other one....there was still one left a little after 11am...I emailed Mara because I wanted to see if X Appeal was still available too so she could invoice me...and when I checked again after sending it...it was gone! lol I am happy that you were able to get one Olderbutwiser...I felt a little guilty about taking both of them because I know so many of us love it and it has been sold out. I can't wait to try it!! I am no longer going to wait...I feel bad about making a 30.00 purchase, but I have already lost several things by waiting until I'm able to place a bigger order.

Everyone else knows so much about layering fragrances and what pheros to use...I hope the day will come when I actually feel knowledgeable about all of this..lol

Welcome to the forum! I am sorry that you are having to go through this...from the posts it seems like several of us have gone through the same thing. I am fairly new, so I wouldn't want to recommend anything, just to tell you that these ladies/men on the forum have a great deal of knowledge and are very caring people. I have been in my personal hell with my ex and escaped it 5 years ago...life is so much more wonderful when they are not in it! Mine sucked the life out of me too and I am just now getting my mojo back...it is hard while you're going through it, but the reward of freedom makes it so worth it!! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and send some positive vibes your way!!

....I am a newbie so my order Monday was for the women's and men's sampler...I am loving the Sneaky Clean, X Appeal (which disappeared before I could snag one...I'm so upset about this!!) and my sniffie of Spells 2013 Love Immortal..I haven't even tried them all yet so I'm sure there are more..I really love the Ambrosial Summer and Love Salad Mara boosted for me...everything is just so fantabulous!!!

OMG! I have been without cable, home phone and internet for a week and the world has gone mad! lol Three perfumes I have been stalking are now gone! Now I will have to regroup and replan my next order!

Mara...sorry for the delay in thanking you for my order which arrived Monday! What a wonderful surprise to get everything in this order...I thought I was going to have to wait for my most recent! My perfumes you boosted smell delicious..and so do my goodies! I loved the two extra special ones! Both are actually on my list of top ten sold outs to watch for in case they showed up again somewhere (yes, I frequent the sold outs like a true LPnatic! )

bravo!! All of my little sacks/boxes were so beautiful with their perfumes that I hated to open them and mess them up...from the bottom of my heart I thank you!!!

My only complaint...now I am going to have to place another order to have something new to look forward to!! lolol You're a great businesswoman...you know us well!!!! I feel like Al Pacino in the Godfather 3 when he says..."just when I think I'm out...they pull me back in"....that is so me..just when I think I will be content...I get my order and begin wanting more...and more...and more!!!! This one sounds fantabulous! I have been wanting a perfume with PP and I missed my chance to get Sweet Chic on Artfire by one day (I kept watching it for weeks and it sold the night before I placed my order so I got a FB of Totem Lamb right away! I can't wait to to know how it smells and also to test out PP my next outing!!

When I found LPMP I was looking primarily for relationship pheros to use with my fiance. However, I ran across Un-Levitation and it sounded like something that would benefit me greatly. Un-Levitation is a formula of Open Windows with some DHEAS thrown in to give you that little extra boost of happy! Mind you I am a very skeptical person, so although I was hoping for it to work as the despription says, I was doubting that pheros could actually lift one's mood and help a person socially. I can tell you now, without doubt, that it works!! It works so well that even my mom and dad are now using it too!! Due to my RA I am home most days so I tend to get down. Not being able to use my hands leaves me with few activities I am able to do to help out. Un-Levitation definitely has lifted my spirits and put a spring back in my step!! Everyone in the house seems to get along better, talking more with each other and smiling!! I would 100% recommend un-Levitation if you are looking for something to help you get your "mojo" back and feel uplifted and happy...in fact, I would recommend any of LPMP's products as I have tried several now and they are all outstanding!!

"Levitation" is "Open Windows" with DHEAS added. Your getting a good dose of DHEAS by adding more, just FYI so you don't crash.

yea, I found that out the hard way! lol I got my DHEAS in a spray so I just do one small squirt on my neck of it. Thanks for letting me know Stacy..any info is appreciated as I am new to all of this...

I also was debating between those two on my first order. I went with the DHEAS. I felt like it would be more versatile with the other phero combos and also because I ordered an un-Levitation. I can't compare the two, but I can tell you I love my DHEAS! It gives that little something extra to the un-Levitation. In fact everyone in the house is now on Levitation w/DHEAS and I must say it's great!! Our moods have picked up..we are a lot more happy and have the motivation to get things done. We argue less...Sorry to get off topic...anyway-DHEAS lives up to its word for me!!

I am planning some PEs in the near future and while searching for info on notes for fragrances I came across this page...it lists all of the different categories of notes, what falls under them and it allows you to click on the name beside of each note pic for more in depth info....I bookmarked it and found it extremely helpful, especially for newbies like me...

Wellll, it's a habit of mine to blend multiple kinds of the same thing to get a smooth, round feel to each note, which is just my personal preference. In the case of Nola, to achieve that Bourbon Vanilla feel, I mixed an actual bourbon vanilla with french vanilla and black vanilla (very bean-y smelling), and then added a nice to dose of bourbon fragrance oil to amp that aspect.

 

When I make the PEs for example, I limit the customer to 4 notes, but I usually use 12 or more to achieve that 3-4 note feel.

 

As a perfumer, in my case anyway, a single note is never really just a single note.

My first order I got: unscented pheros DHEAS and Levitation, both in sprays; samples of Gamboge, Gypsum White and Blush and All Hallows Eve w/Lumina because it was the last one. I love everything I ordered which makes it even more difficult to narrow down my order from what I would love to what I can afford! lol I want to try things before buying a fb only because I am not familiar with different notes of a fragrance. Well, I placed my second order today! Spent an hour putting things in and taking things out and changing things around trying to get everything I wanted without breaking the bank! lol Still didn't get everything I wanted..some things will have to wait, but I'm happy with the end result....

2 Gypsum White (one roll on and one spray)...I absolutely love this! I have almost used up my sample. Wore it for Easter dinner w/the whole family and everyone was commenting how good I smelled and they were all over me with kindness and smiles!!

My next order I am already looking at X Appeal w/Sexology fb, Sneaky Clean fb, Flying Potion (hope it's still available!), and our fabulous Spring Collection for April and May...who can resist all of those cutie animal pics? and I'm sure the fragrances that go with each of them are fantastic!!

I'd love to do a couple of PEs when I'm more familiar with notes of fragrances...I love clean, light scents so the idea of some spa scents with ginger, white tea, white flowers and citrus intrigues me!! We will see how that develops!!

Now I just have to find a way to pay for all of this!!!! lolol

TheBirkeys, this might just be the absolutely perfect social phero for you too! I am an introverted, socially inept person with avoidant personality and sometimes crippling social anxiety. While I have self-confidence in regards to my intellectual and imaginative/creative capacities, I have very little confidence in my ability to be a "proper person". I am not a practical person (so the obvious things that naturally occur to most people often elude me), and while I'm very good at reading people, I don't know how to relate to and interact with them in a normal, natural, comfortable way. Because of this, I wander around feeling a bit stupid, and very much like an outsider most of the time. I want to be able to connect with people the way everyone else does, but it doesn't work that way for me.

 

Unlike other blends, Lumina seems to make me feel more comfortable and content within myself, and within the realms of the general social interaction taking place. It uplifts my mood (in a natural way- no ditzyness or alpha-nol headaches). It spreads a warm, affectionate, socially flirty and lightly sparkly vibe throughout the room. It makes it easier for me to be around others, and easier for them to be around me. The only way to describe it is, as I think I mentioned earlier, that it really feels like people start falling in love with the process of interacting with you.

 

After using it at work a few times, I can see people automatically responding more positively to my presence straight away. And the whole time I'm there it's like people want to keep communicating with me, just because they want to be around me. I walked into a store the other day, looking for a facial serum, and the woman who came to help me fell under some kind of Lumina spell. She had shown me this great Clarins product that came with an extra gift set for free, which I had decided to buy. But even though I was already buying it, there she was repeatedly stroking all the other products that came in the gift pack on my hands and arms, just so I could smell and feel them. It was like she didn't want me to go away. For someone like me, who usually projects an aura of "just leave me be, don't invade my space", this woman's behaviour was decidedly outside the norm. And I've been served by her several times before- that's not what they're usually like there at all.

 

I must stop babbling now. Sorry to go on, but I think anyone socially awkward should give this a try. Now I've discovered it I couldn't live without it. And I'm now off to buy more straight away.

 

BTW- if you do decide to order some, you won't find it specifically listed in Mad Scientist combos. You just choose the mad scientist blends and then write in the box that you'd like to order the Lumina blend.

Vladmyra...I am so sorry I am just responding to your post. I did not realize it until today when I was thinking about a PE for myself and trying to decide which pheros to use. When I read your post it was as if you were describing me!! I have AS (Asperger's Syndrome) and although I don't seem uncomfortable in social situations (because I have learned to act), they are actually very draining for me! I am more content staying home and it doesn't bother me to do it for days on end when I'm not working. I could tell you about how AS affects me, but you did it so well that there would me nothing more for me to say!! lol

If this is what Lumina does for you, then Thank God I have found the Holy Grail! I received my AHE and tried it sparingly for the scent. I like the scent, but it's not one I would use every day-especially in the summer. I guess the name AHE is a very clue as to when this fragrance should be used! I am thinking about a PE with a little more subtle smell. It would probably seem on the generic side to most, but I have to be careful with fragrances which are out there. Everything smells strongly to me and if it has something I have an aversion to, I can pick it up right away and I can't stand to be near it. So far the fragrances I have tried at LPMP have been great, but I am still looking for that one scent I can use daily as a staple.

It really means a lot to me that you took the time to write all of that. I didn't find out until a few days ago about following posts to get updates. When I read your post I was thinking you might have AS too. I don't always tell people about it because some react negatively as if I have cooties.. lol

When I have my PE done I will let you know and hopefully they might make a few extras and you can try one. I need to do some more reading on it and decide which ingredients so it may be a month or two before it's done. Right now I'm looking towards NR!!! So excited!!

The Birkeys...I have so many of those samples hanging around. I don't have a trade page because I am lazy and don't want to deal with the payment thing. But if you get an email exchange I can go through my trough and see what I've got to send you. Some of those I have given to my mother but I still have plenty on your list I can throw in an envelope and save you a few dollars.
