  1. Rose, it's at times like these that the distance really sucks. I wished I could have come with you to this appointment. I know you have several awesome leads from people already (the allergy product, the naturopath, more tests), so I will simply add that I resolved long-standing ringing and weird echos and loss of clarity in my ears after an old car accident with a craniosacral therapist (they adjust the bones and ligaments and muscles associated with the skull, jaw, ear). Hopefully one of these tips or a combo of tips will help you.

  2. You've outdone yourself on the review, Beach Goddess. My nose and I are still learning to discern what something is and what parts of it I love and which parts not. It's very interesting. I suppose it's like taking a newbie to a wine tasting event. I have to learn my nose and the vocabulary, and then ultimately let it all go and just feel it.

I totally understand. I stopped posting about Totem: Beaver because I absolutely-friggin-love-it and it seemed like I had done enough postings about it. Now I'm loving the sweetgrass in Totem: Lamb and could go on and onnnnnn about that. I think we all understand enthusiasm and the intense experiences that are possible with LP.

I do the same as you and usually take about 3 different scents with me when I go out, as well as a packet of glass cleaner that will remove a phero pretty quickly, should I need that. Just keep posting what moves you, I'll read it :)

  4. Welcome !

I came for the pheros and am forever addicted due to the scents and their wonderful selfies. I'm still discovering new things with my stash, and Mara's monthly new creations will keep me inspired for a loooong time to come :)

  5. Hehe, I just backscrolled and saw where we were all hanging at the computer a month ago, waiting for the Sale to start. Happy Labor Day everyone ! I'm looking forward to what you guys seem to be calling Pheromas, wondering what that will be like. And what Halowe'en may bring !

  6. Dear Rose,

So sorry to hear about your troubles. I finally got my ear issue taken care of by a craniosacral therapist, but I was so very miserable until then. I sincerely hope this man will listen to you and help you.

What you describe sounds like SWS. Respect/ being really listened to. It's a blend of pheros and probably includes some of the Dom and the androstenols. Otherwise, I would go for Dom. I wouldn't go EST or LFM. Older docs already see you as a woman, possibly one who is attention-seeking, or doesn't know what she is talking about. No point in boosting your femininity. I'm in healthcare and I do sadly see this frequently. You need to come across as calm, in control, as someone they respect.

Please let me know how this all works out for you.

  7. I bought myself the male sampler, thinking I would end up wearing most on myself. But it just didn't 'feel' like me, I felt like there was a man pressed up against me and it was a truly odd experience. So I gave the sampler to my hubby. Then I read a response by luna once how she puts a male blend on her bed, and I thought that was fabulous idea and I tried it. So now when I miss my hubby, I will dab some of whatever he recently wore (Super/Voracious/Goal) on my bed and it makes me feel close to him.

I am having great fun with the unisex scents as well. For instance, I love Totem: Tiger, it makes me feel very primal. On those days when I don't want to smell specifically like a girl, I can go with scents that inspire me...the bayou, the moon, a season, a destination...I love the choices and the moods they create.

    Oh, and welcome !

  8. They manage to avoid saying 'pheromones' a few times there, geeze.

I'm guessing the main difference between the male researchers and female researchers would be the EST. I wonder if mice also respond to ovulation, menstruation, and pregnancy/breastfeeding in female researchers ? We haven't even begun to scratch the surface of this.

If I were you, I would test things like EST, pregnenolone, oxytocin. Oxytocin may have an effect on Autism, so that's super exciting research you would be joining.

  9. Mara,

I'd say the common theme we have here is: we all want more wax melts !!!

Winter is coming, windows will be closing, such a perfect time to enhance the 'inner space' of the places we live in, and our own 'inner spaces'. You have great intuition. I'm certain I will love something of whatever you come up with.

Oh - and I just noticed I typed windows/closing, maybe that's a subconscious hint at Open Windows...

  10. I'm so fascinated by Aja that I've ordered another bottle. I'm the one who had a bottle go from sweet to vinegary and now it's pretty much scentless wet inside the bottle and very mild on my skin. For my next bottle, I'm planning on letting the liquid drip from the applicator and not actually letting the applicator touch my skin in an effort to reduce possible contamination. I still recall those first 3 days with fresh honey Aja, which was such a strong love for me I wanted to lick it. I miss that very much. Here's hoping - and trying a fresh bottle soon. :purr:

For pheros, I would love a Focus one, great for studying ( icould see an aquatic or wood going great with that). Also anything good for socializing in a small group...Open Windows, Hearts, etc. For scents, maybe just the major categories....vanillas, honeys, aquatics, orientals, woodsy,.. that should give everyone something to pick from.

The weather's been so hot I've honestly been too nervous to order the wax melts through the mail, getting excited to think to think you'll have more to choose from soon

  12. The first 30 minutes it was very perfumey, and I was disappointed. But then the jasmine separated from the rest of the notes and it's now a lovely midnight sort of fragrance. I'm not getting the 'moonshine', mostly the jasmine and musk and swamp. I had SS4W added to it (intuitively during Sale 2014 as I had not even smelled a sample) and I love the combo. Makes me feel alive, mysterious, and feminine. A good scent for a walk, a nice book or a snuggle on the porch, or something more steamy on a hot summer's night.
