So I got the Egg 2014 in the august sale. I thought it would be different. I like it, but I could live without it. To me, it is nice vanilla scent and I would say it is pretty sheer. I can't smell it as much as I would like to and so can't others (I assume). I also got the Sogni incantati, so now I can compare. To me, it is similar, but the Sogni is more pronounced, so to say. And I detect some apricot note from it. Egg is more "straight vanilla" to me. I like both, but I have other LPs that I love.

I was thinking just today about my top scents, and LP O is number one. Flying potion 2014 number two. I just LOVE LP O. And the more I wear it, the more I can distinct the notes. It is fun
-
still nothing?
-
Ok, I'll go to a party and have some drinks and after I come back the NRs descriptions will be out. I will be reading the notes as my bedtime story
-
Exactly ! Doing the same

Does the Flying potion stain? I have not a chance to try the 2015 version, but I tried the 2014 and 2013 version and noticed that both of my forearms (where I sprayed) were yellow !... I was really glad that I didn't spray on light colored clothes...

I can't wait to order

Ok, thanks, Halo

Hello, I just finally had a chance to open my package with the August sale (I don't live in USA and I finally arrived).
I wanted to ask - was I the only one who didn't get any sniffies? Or is normal during the sale?
-
This is weird... I don't smell any spices at all. I must try again after reading all the reviews. The only thing I got was a very unpleasant overwhelming - but very dry and light - soap smell. Indeed, very soapy. That kind you get headache from. I must try again on another day.

This is a great way to try out BANG (thank you!)- and cupcake scent, then I'm in. Ok unto review, this is my 2nd test of this as the 1st one try likely had travel shock and I didn't shake prior to applying.
Ok so wet, my skin amps lime and raspberry - the medcinal effect others have spoken of - like candied awful cough syrup. I'm thinking it's my skin amping or morphing those notes weirdly. It could be amping other notes, but those are the ones I smell. And it's 'pointy', 'stabby'.
5 min in, lime starts backing off a bit but raspberry still strong. Unfortunately my brain is still linking the raspbery to the cough syrup smell.
10 min in, To tame scent, I added some LP Pink which rounded out the notes for my skin. Now it smells like buttercream frosting cupcake with a raspberry swirl, very nice. Lime taken a back-seat, can't detect. Pointiness and stabbiness gone.
I have 2 samples from prior order and just ordered another sample. Even though my skin morphs this, the base of this scent is awesome, my skin just needs something creamy buttery (from the buttery vanilla) to 'round' it out. Adding LP Pink turns it into a wonderful scent - difft from each on their own.
In layering, only dabbed the LP Pink so it wouldn't overtake the whole thing - turned out nicely. And so happy to have a scent to try BANG! Once I'm able to order sugars, I want to play layering this with some of the sugars. Of course I'll be doing that anyway with the sugars. Next order of course.
Thanks for the tip with LP Pink ! I just tried it and it is much better..I did not care that much for how Incandescence morphed on me, but with LP Pink I might like it

IMO The trick to LP Red (and O, Black, Exotica..) Let it age. If you have a trial stuck it away for 6+ months then try again. It's the only cinnamon heavy fragrance I can wear. My bottle is 2 years old and it smells better than ever. My LP o is the same age, i didn't think much of it at first but age is kind to Some of these.
Ok, I will keep my sample. But I liked LP O right away... no need to age.

Unfortunately, I cannot wear honey scents- it turns into very unpleasant smell on me( Pherogirl is the true example), which lasts for days (!). It would be nice if the scents I like lasted as long
-
I guess the cinnamon in LP Red does not work well with my skin chemistry (which is odd because I love cinnamon) . But I don't mind, at least I will not go broke I prefer LP O and LP Pink.

I am a pink person, so I knew I would love this one. It is very pretty, warm and cozy scent. I feel sexy and secure at the same time when wearing it. Sometimes the patch is a little to forward for my taste, but not every day - it just depends. Definitely will buy again. I realized I did not wear LP Pink much during summer, it has too warm feel for me, but is great for fall - it makes me warm when it is cold outside

I got a sample of LP O in my newbie sampler pack. And it was a love at the first sniff (along with LP Pink, but I think I love LP O more). I ordered a FB right away. I don't get that much apricot as others (I would never figure it out on my own if I didn't know it is in there), it is mostly sweet sugary vanilla on me (and I thought I don't like vanilla). It is very well blended scent, it is just so round and cozy. Also I got a compliment from a bar tender who told me I smell like christmas

Dear goodness, I just love Flying Potion. As everyone has mentioned, this version is more ylang heavy. 2013 has been my favorite version which seemed very marshmallow heavy. 2014 was very grapefruit toward. This one is all ylang and marshmallows. I almost want a bottle even though I'm stocked up on 2013. It seems different enough to me. I usually amp spice but its MIA right now. Love it!
thanks for the comparison with the previous versions. that is exactly what I wanted to know

I loved both the 2013 and 2014 versions. The 2013 was soft, creamy, and fluffy. 2014 had more grapefruit. This one is really heavy on the ylang at first, but eventually it dries down to a soft, slightly spicy, creamy scent. This version reminds me a lot of La Sylphide but w/out the sandalwood.
But can you still smell the marshmallow after drydown? Because in La Sylphide is no marshmallow and since you said it reminds you of it ... Honestly, I am going after the marshmallow scent (which I get in my 2014 version), so this is the deal breaker for me
and thanks all for bearing with my marshmallow questions

I love this!! That would actually be a good name for the virgin version!
But, oh dear. I bought this unsniffed since I missed out last year on a full bottle. I haven't tried it yet, but it smells good out of the bottle. I do remember trying my last year's sample (sparingly) and thinking "root beer???". I think I translated the licorice (which I never thought I'd like) to root beer, decided I liked it, and then it was gone. I sure hope this year's version doesn't smell like plastic on me!!!
So go ahead and try it, please ! ) I am looking forward to your review.
I know what you mean about the root beer, I can smell it in my 2014 version too. Sort of I like it though But I still can smell the marshmallow, which I hoped would be quite strong in this version, but I guess not (after reading the reviews).

Now I am torn.. if I should just order a sample first. I was counting on to go FB without sniffing .
-
So is this one more similar to 2013 than 2014?

Unfortunately, I cannot smell any marshmallow in this scent. Weirdly, I smell canned apricots. And vanilla. It is nice, but I am not crazy about it. I tried this one and Egg 2014 on the other arm and to me there are in the same scent family. Both very light, I cannot smell them much, which is a pity. I like Egg 2014 more.
