  1. Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome! Really differs from other forums seems like. I'll make an intro thread and there'd be like one or zero responses.

Invidiana, Andsoitgoes - I tend to gravitate towards gourmand scents. I have a huge sweet tooth and like smelling like chocolate, vanilla, honey, amber, cinnamon, sugar, baked goods or anything edible and borderline sickeningly sweet. Occasionally Ill pick up something thats a soft floral or fruity scent but I much prefer to smell like a walking bakery. :eating-pie:

Ohhh yuum! Amber, cinnamon, and anything sugary are always top of my list, too!

  2. Hello hello :) I have (or had) the same feelings about a signature scent until I started sampling the LP fragrances. It's like Katz said, you're gonna fall in love over and over again. There are a lot of gorgeous scents already, and more new ones every month. What kinda scents do you like?

  3. I'm not great at describing scents, so hopefully over time that's a skill I'll be able to acquire. I just wanted to pop over and say how much I adore this. This will sound strange, but something about this combination of scents reminds me of my grandfather. It, to me (but again - so, so new to fragrances and identification/associations) smells at first earthy and deep, then sweet just around the edges. Reminds me of some of the tobacco he used to get, I think, plus the sweetness that came with either his shaving cream or aftershave. So the smokey plus the sweet.

After awhile, light and powdery almost. Like others have said, elegant.

It amazes me how it is both, and I love that it is called The Detective and The Dame because I feel like both elements are very present and they compliment each other so well. One is there, then the other arrives. The story unfolds.

  4. Took it to work again. Like I said, I really dig the scent of this one, but the girls on either side of me kept sneezing and maybe I'm paranoid, but I think it may have had to do with my scent? Maybe not. Anyway, no one attributed it to my scent and everyone was in a jovial mood. We cracked each other up all day.

So I was talking to one of the girls when I looked up and realized a guy was staring at me and smiling. He couldn't have been more than six feet away so I'm pretty sure he was in my cloud if not directly on the edges of it. He was in a line that had started to move, so he started to walk forward while still staring and he walked into the lady in front of him and she dropped her stuff and he dropped his, lol. That has never happened to me in my life. It was hilarious.

I got other hits, but they were minor in comparison. This one was my favorite.

And again with the deeper conversations with co-workers. I am really starting to love this effect. It makes everyone feel good and comfortable opening up. The girls around me seemed to not want to go anywhere and talked and talked. One about her roommate situation and the other about marital troubles. The one who told me about her marriage is new, we've only ever worked together twice so I can't say whether or not she's this open all the time. But after my talks with coworkers last time, I want to say it's the pheros.

Edit: To add more details about different effects on different individuals.

  5.

Pheromones and scents HAVE changed my life, even in this short time. For the first time ever I really began to look at what other people were doing and how I interacted with others. I felt like I could take some control over how people treated me, through how I projected myself and how I allowed them to treat me. It has given rise to so much thought and self-discovery. I have already improved my skills at understanding people and their behaviours tenfold.

Yup. It may seem odd, but once I started watching the behavior of others and tweaking my own in the name of congruence, it's amazing how things started to change. I could wear a phero'd product and get no hits with a sourpuss on, but the slightest smile and it was like flipping a switch. Hit after hit after hit. And it got to where - even if I was truly in a foul mood - just pretending I wasn't, smiling anyway, the response that would get from others would turn my entire day around. I don't rely on pheromones, but man is it fun to flip that switch and see what it can do if you work it. My confidence has improved, my attitude has improved, and what once felt forced (being chipper) now comes pretty naturally. With or without the pheromones.

Pheromones ASIDE, I've found at least three scents here that I don't picture myself ever doing without and they're all un-phero'd. This is coming from a formerly ungirly girl, also. Others have complimented the fragrances, and it has sparked an interest in becoming more feminine for me. This means spending more time on my hair, putting on makeup, and wearing more feminine clothes.

I went home last week and after talking with my dad for awhile, he stopped and he said to me "You should dress like that all the time." I said "Like what?" and he said "Like a girl." lol He said I wore too many t-shirts and hoodies. He might have a point.

  6. I have a sample of this and wore it to work. Cinnamonmel had it right. I felt hot! And also like of course others should find me hot, too. Like it was a given. It didn't make me feel cocky, though, despite that last sentence. More like "I feel hot, and I understand if you also find me hot. If you don't, I'm not bothered."

I also feel that this particular concoction helped a couple of coworkers feel more at ease around me. I got to talk with two guys I work with on two different breaks, and I didn't want to leave because they just opened ALL THE WAY up. THEY didn't want me to leave, either. The reason this is significant is because we had really never talked that much before, and when we did it was all work related. But this was different, more personal. About life and love, ups and downs, dreams and goals for the future. It was WEIRD. It was effortless and the most comfortable sort of talking we had ever done. Like we had been really good friends for a long time. One of them even gave me a hug after.

The scent is incensey but I kinda dig it.

I've got UN Bang! coming to me and wonder if it will have the same effect less the dose of cops.

  7. Hey Meng, welcome to the board! I don't have any experience with the men's pheros but all of the ones I've tried for women have been wildly effective and so I'm sure you'll be pleased with any purchase you make from LP. The scents alone are gorgeous and coupled with pheros? Extremely powerful blends. I'm really looking forward to reading about your experiences with the LP pheros!
