  1. This was one of the first March samples I tried and it originally fell kind of flat. Halo used the word 'muddled' in her review and it was exactly what I thought of when I tried it. No one scent was coming out and it faded rather fast.

Fast forward just a few weeks later and I am thrilled with the evolution this one has taken for me. Instead of muddled, it is feeling more balanced. It is soft but not fading fast like it initially did. It lasted all day until dinner time though it is a soft and slightly powdery scent by now. I love StacyK's description of a little violet cloud. It was lovely to wear to work today and I will likely end up getting a full bottle of this before too long. It definitely pays to try and try again with scents to be sure you don't pass up something that turns out to be quite beautiful.

  2. I really need to use this one more often. I wore it to work one day this week and had some noticeable hits. One of my female employees is notoriously difficult and aggressive. Before someone even finishes a sentence introducing a change she will usually throw up her hands and state she can't or won't do it, or it's just plain stupid. When I wore Purple Papal w/ H&S (still not loving the scent but I'm rocking the phero), she was puppy-eyed and agreeable with everyone, but especially to me. She volunteered to help not only our department, but also another area in another state. This is unheard of from her and she has been with the company 40 years! It was such a good experience and I lavished her with praise on that day and the following for her initiative. Total win.

The other was with my boss's boss. I call him 'shark eyes' because he radiates aloofness and non-blinking judgment. I am not intimidated by him in the least, just not my style, but we never have warm fuzzies together and I don't look forward to our one on one meetings. When I entered his office he almost jerked up straight in his seat. I sat down and proceeded to discuss an employee situation that we will need to take action on. As I was talking he kept moving his head side to side as if he was reviewing my face. When I stopped talking he said, "Did you do something with your hair?". I said no, and then kept to the topic at hand. When I stopped again he said, "Hmm, It looks like you did. Is it lighter since the last time I saw you?". Now I have seen him every day for 2 weeks, but about 2 months prior I did have my stylist put in a couple of highlights. I explained no, I didn't have anything done recently but I had my hair lightened a bit a few months ago. He said, "Oh, I knew it! It looks really good. I think it looks, well, you just look great and I love your hair.". He then sat back with his arms crossed and developed the most ridiculous grin I have ever seen. He even was blinking in slow motion. It was funny to watch this hit unfold, but he had not heard one word I had said in my 10 minutes of breaking down a legal issue. When it came time for him to provide his wise managerial advice and next steps he just told me, "Thanks for visiting me. You keep being awesome ok?". WTH???

  3. This is such a beautiful pineapple scent! It is juicy and light in essence, but chewy in texture. (I swear my brain signals are crossed because scents often feel like textures.) I'm wondering if it's the copal making it have a solid feel instead of wispy. Whatever it is I friggin' love it! This does wear close to the skin and the pineapple stays longer than other pineapple scents I have worn. OMG, this would be fantastic in an oil and a spray!

  4.

So which six? Not that it matters, everyone's taste is so different, I'm just curious what people are liking the most so far!

Here goes and in no order; Gypsum White, Vermillion, Indigo, Gamboge, Vivid Violet, and my biggest surprise of all Carbon Black. I typically don't go for the darker, resiny scents. I can't wear LP Black for instance. But Carbon Black is one that I could wear.

Eta: holy hell. It's actually seven. I forgot about Atomic Mandarin.

  5. I use this as a sleep tonic but maybe I need to wear it out and about...

I have been wearing this to work and also on the weekends to run errands. I love it for both the scent and the phero. It puts me in a calm state and the scent is a comforting powdery herbal.

My job has been so stressful lately due to consolidations and people needing to submit to move to our new locations way across the country. Since I am a manager, they look to me to provide reassurance and to ask upper management the right questions. When I have this on I can sense a slight ease that enters our work environment. It has the "everything is going to be ok" vibe. So yep, I love it for myself and the impact on others.

  6. Je t'adore! In the vial I smell a fresh, slightly honeyed fig and apricot mixture with a lacing of myrrh. In the far, far background is the faintest whisper of spice. The first few minutes after I put this on I felt like swearing a lifelong allegiance to this, and only this scent. It reminds me of something ancient and royal. I agree with Luna about the honey adding body to the whole and not standing out. It is a sweet natural smell for me. Like a drizzle of honey instead of a pool of honey.

Those first few minutes I am a Grecian goddess ready to be adored. It is a golden hazy ray of afternoon sunlight hitting a rustic terracotta bowl filled with ripened figs. Beautiful. I then get a wee touch of where it is heading to next and I am so excited to see where it is, then Poof!, it all but disappears. I have my nose snuffling up and down my arm wondering where it went and why did it leave me behind. I get a left over trace of faint sweet powder. I am so hoping this is a mid-shark week nose weirdness. Yes, that has to be it because I need that scent to come back to me.

eta: my fingers are too clumsy for my phone!

  7. I am so in love with this scent! I got it in a roll-on and a spray (I never do that!) and could not be happier. All of the stages are divine and I am trying to restrain my desire to hoard this one. The dry down is a light musky strawberry with a nod to vanilla buttercream and just a hint of an airy white cake. I never get plasticky or any contrary scent from this. I am going to have fun pairing this with some un-pheros! I think I will start with Gotcha! because that is such a winner for me.

  8. The waft on this one is totally a more unisex/masculine Purple Puff. Down close to my skin, I get more of the herbal-y smell. Love this one, May need more!

Molls I totally agree. I get the Purple Puff connection too. And I love me some Purple Puff. Loving how soft and lightly herbal this one is. I think I will be using up this sample tres quickly.
  9. Odd happenings with this one today. I have not been able to wear this without it smelling nearly identical to Aja on its own. I can only wear Aja in a small dot on each arm otherwise it is too overpowering for me. Well I grabbed this by mistake and did a long swipe on my left arm and then realized my error. I let it sit for about 3 mins to see if I could handle it and then had to wash it off.

As typically happens to me with Aja it had quickly bonded to my skin and I could pick it up even after washing my arm. I then put on both of my arms some of a mystery sniffee that I am in love with and went about my morning.

My cat is not a snuggly type of guy. He will cuddle for short periods of time but you can't move at all or he dashes off and will glare at you. Well today he was all but doing back flips to get me to pick him up. I sat down with him and he was so snuggly and loving it was like he was a different cat. My daughter came by and saw how Puma was acting and asked what I had did to him. I was not connecting the dots here but about ten mins later I asked her to come smell me. I had her sniff my left arm and then the right and asked which was better. She said "Oooo, the left one for sure! It's great!" So there you have it. This works for sure on my cat and daughter. I will need to try this a little more to see how it layers with other scents too.

  10. This isn't by any means universally acknowledged, but wet and on application I find there are similarities between this and Sexology, so if you like Sexology (and you can wear honey -- I've learned not everyone can) then you might think of popping a trial vial of Phero Girl in your next order. I think you'll be glad you did. :wink2:

Good advice. I'm already plotting my next order with this in it. And I haven't even received my NR order yet. Oh the joys of being an LP addict! :)
  11. I just can't get my nose around this one. I've tested it a few times but can't go more than 5 mins before I have to scrub it off. My brain takes the crisp fruitiness in one direction and wants it to keep going that way. Then the brown sugar sweetness blocks it and they battle right then and there. Neither side wins and I finally surrender. Now I love Swimming with Sharks and use the un-version often.

  12. By reviews alone, already I'm thinking I should've gotten a FB of the Hummingbird and Papal. Now I guess it's just a matter of waiting for my sampler to decide just how many bottles - if any are left - to order

I feel the same way about the Hummingbird Nectar though I did purchase a FB of Papal Purple. I am training some classes this week and I call for fairly frequent breaks just so I can check my phone for a mail notice! Come to momma lil sampler....

    Eta: autocorrect. Sheesh.

  13. Oh my GOD but this is incredible!!! I want to BATHE in it. Inhale it until I can't breathe anymore. This is the crown jewel of the year! I could wear no other scent but this forever and never regret it.

Oops. I mean yucky blech! Because I love you all so much I'm going to buy all the bottles in stock so no one has to put up with this stuff. You're welcome.

Wow! I can't wait to sample this one. Is the floral the dominant scent, or does the vanilla/musk/smoke push forward with the floral taking a back seat? So curious!!

  14. I cannot strongly enough recommend that everyone drop what they're doing and put this in their hair. Something about it just suits being in the hair so extremely. I am fainting with delight.

Ooooo this does sound good! Do you have this in a spray? I have several hair oils that I occasionally use on the ends if my hair. I am thinking that adding dashes if diffent LPs would be fun and I could smell them all day. I'll start with Moon Sugar Candy first. Thanks for the idea Tyvey!

  15. I am waiting for my sample to try this one out. I love the label, plus I love fig, myrrh, and apricot, but I can't picture how the other notes will work with these.
