luna65
The reason I really loved past versions of EBIL-ish! had to do with the Egyptian Musk which Mara used in the blending, so gorgeous! This year's variant has Indian black musk attar instead and so it's still that deep dark vanilla-clove thing but with more of a Autumnal kind of vibe, I would say. But it's wonderful, earthy and smooth and just a wee bit zesty. It wears rather more spicy than sweet on me but it's a great Fall mood for sure. Amanda
In the vial this is a delicious vanilla pudding, on my skin though it’s all alcohol. A kind of sharp alcohol, not even sort of sweet like rum in a shot glass. I’m disappointed because the label is so damn cute! But I have learned that what doesn’t work for me will usually work great for my mom so I’ll give it to her to try.
Amanda
I tried this again today, on top of some lingering AToP from yesterday, and it smells sweeter today. More like the vanilla pudding scent in the vial.
Mila
Ok, now that I got 2 bottles of this, I can talk. It’s smooth. I get vanilla, musk, and a dessert/butterscotch vibes. Not so much of clove, ginger, sandalwood on me. It’s not dry, medium sweet
greenappletart
I have a couple of bottles of the 2018 version, so that's what I'll mostly be comparing it to. I think the key to this version is the vanilla pudding aspect. It's definitely different enough from the previous one to be own thing. The 2023 brew has a stronger vanilla component and is softer. It's quieter all around, though that may partially be due to not having had a chance to age as long. I will be curious how this smells in 5 years in comparison. While it's quieter, it's also thicker and smoothed out. There's that pudding coming into play. It's a more cakey vanilla, less vanilla bean. The sandalwood takes the lead several hours in. I think the spices aren't quite as prominent, but again, that may be an aging thing. This version really is all about the vanilla.
