  1. Oddly, it always makes me want to eat rice pudding...

I wonder why is that :rofl222:

And yes, for me it feels cozy and snuggly too. I'm sure I will be using this a lot when it gets cold and dark here :)

  2. I had to learn about travel shock the hard way with this one. I was so excited about Nekomusume that I opened and applied it right after receiving my package. And it went all sour on me. Awful, VERY sour unripe plum. It was so disgusting I had to wash my app point twice and I thought I'd never use it again.

The next day I gave it another go, and it was delicious and wonderful. Warm and sweet plum&rice pudding, I think I also get the rice wine for some time after the application, but it disappears later on and the scent gets softer and creamier. Absolutely wonderful one, and I'm very happy that I did not give up on it after first try!

Good lesson for me though, now I won't forget to give new bottles time to recover from the travel shock.

    :love592:

  3. This is beautiful on skin. When wet it smelled sharp lemon, but after drydown it is nothing like that. Lemon is sweet and soft, very noticeable but not overpowering, and stays close to the skin. Lady Frost reminds me of those lemon cough drops with a tiniest hint of peppermint in a sweet cloud of vanilla and sugars. This will be one of my feel good fragrances for sure,

Not too wintery scent for me either, it feels perfectly suitable for a cold rainy summer day like today.

It is now 2 hours since I applied and the scent is still beautiful, but I'll see how it develops from here.

ETA (4 hour mark): Lemon is now gone, and what's left is mostly lovely sweet vanilla. The scent is too complex to be only vanilla, but I can't pick any specific notes. Can only say that it is beautiful.

ETA2 (6-7 hour mark): Now it smells like my Hugo Naturals vanilla-peppermint soap, very soft and slightly minty. It's difficult to describe but it's a nice cozy scent that wears close to the skin.

Conclusion on Lady Frost: Love it!

  4. Tried ISFH yesterday, and it came out kind of gross on me. Spicy pumpkin and vanilla smell yummy, but butter in this one reads like old man's sweat to me. Hope it was the travel shock, without the sweat part this scent would be absolutely lovely.

  5. Welcome...home

Through good timing on my part,I was able to sang the last bottle of Tyvey's CCIC ,and yes it is luscious :icecream:

...next to that Tyvey's Coffee Cake has been my go to for a delicous sweet but not too sweet coffee scent for awhile, just reserved another back up for a back up on the sale...then yummy Baskery became a fav, which is gone now but for a few samples,as of this time...Titilating Temptress is a stronger coffee, with a nice Cops boost...a great pick me up scent!

Thanks Calii! Both for the warm welcome and for sharing your thoughts on coffee scents! :)

I was thinking that Tyvey's Coffee Cake would be too sweet, but you made me want it NOW! I'll have to put it on my wishlist in case I deside to place another order before the sale is over. Not sure if my wallet will agree with it though :D

  6. Treasure of Silver is very powdery and blue on me. There is something metallic in the scent too, reminds me of one mainstream fragrance I tried, but I can't remember its name. Compared to this one Cuddle Bunny is much sweeter on me, but otherwise it has a similar feel to it.

After applying Treasure of Silver feels too sharp for me to wear, and too powdery. Couple hours later it starts to get more into softer/fresher floral scent department, quite nice but still not something I'd want to get FB of.

  7. Thank you, Mara! You answered also things I did not even ask, that is amazing. Since your intension with those oils was users' success in their wishes, I can hardly go wrong with any of them. Choosing by notes, Whisker Wishes seems to be most suitable for my situation as well.

    .

And every single one looks amazing fragrance wise, so I'm trying them all anyway.

  8. By all means do, Fleur!

    And thank you, too! :D

I'm gonna scope out your preferences again, and see what other reccomendations come to mind.

I have all day to have LP fun today & the house to myself for the first time in months! :)

Thank you! :) I think I'll figure more things I like after receiving my next order, Mara's creations never stop to amaze me. Will take a while for the order to get to Europe though..

Having house for yourself and LP goods to try does sound like a perfect day to me! Good luck and have fun experimenting! :)

I will definitely try a sample--the pink sugars made me a little nervous, since I am getting the sense that sugars don't always work on me. But your description made me hungry! You know, I tried Eye of the Storm a while back and sadly I think I was allergic to something in it! Maybe I'll try it and see if things have settled down. Like Fleur, I love the way you bring songs into it--since I am always fantasizing the soundtrack of my life...

Hey, Fleur, I'm loving your reviews too! Really fun to have another newbie to get in the game with!

You know, I am not having a lot of luck so far with my great vanilla experiment--but the two I just tried both had cops in them (Occo White and Beth's Blushing Milkmaid). I am wondering if maybe I just can't wear cops--even after drydown, I got something sour with BOTH of them. I will definitely write up, but when something doesn't go well, I like to give it at least a second try before writing anything. But it's kind of weird! I am wondering if NoCo White might be a different story, but it looks as if you can't get samples of those, just full bottles? Have you tried that one?

Today's discovery, which I need to write up, is Marsha Mellow. Oh, WOW! I put some on at about 7:30 this morning and it's still there... it's so soft and subtle, as everyone else has said, but incredible staying power! Not too sweet, just quiet elegant comfort.

Now if we could just get those New Releases to try.... :Emoticons04269::Emoticons04280::cat690:

From what I've read, I think cops smell can vary both depending on your skin reaction with them and on your perception of the smell (the latter shouldn't have any effect on how others react though). I can wear loads of cops, and when I do everyone comments on how great I smell, even though for me there's no difference compared to no-cops fragrances at all. Normally I don't get any comments on my perfume from coworkers/friends unless I ask, but with cops on everyone comes to sniff me and tell me how wonderful I smell. Mostly men for obvious reasons, but I've also gotten those comments from few of the ladies :)

BBM is absolutely lovely creamy/milky vanilla scent on me, I can't detect any cops in it. Can't say anything about OCCO/NoCo white though. I ordered a sample of OCCO White with my last order, I'll tell what I think about that when it gets here.

And here is a hug for fellow experimenting newbie :Hug_emoticon:

Not sure if hugging people is appropriate where you live, but that's what I do to anyone I meet and like :D

  9. Blackcat, I'm really enjoying reading your reviews :) And thanks again for all your encouragement, you're wonderful!

Have you tried more of those 4 vanilla scents you got?) I'm looking forward to read your comparison :)

And for Cheeseburger, I love how you link together fragrances, songs, feelings, memories etc... You have such an interesting mind to see all that :) Even though your suggestions were for Blackcat, I'll keep them in mind for myself too :)

  10.

If you like tobacco smoke (and especially if your SO does), you should try Katarina Suit if you haven't already. That is a scent that can cause all sorts of scenarios to pop into your head. It is so completely sexy but, in my mind, in a very non-traditional perfume sort of way. Chocolate, cherryish tobacco, warm woods, leather. *sigh* If I thought I could get away with it, I'd wear it to work.

MRF is definitely a go-to fragrance for sure and the SS4W is perfect with it.

Many thanks for your suggestion! I'll have to get a sample of it, as I'm not sure about how chocolate and leather notes would work. Those can be hit or miss for me.

By the way, I love the Russian agent theme behind Katerina Suit.

    :cheers04251:

EDIT: And MRF by now is just pure spices (10+ hours after applying it). I'll try to soften it up with something else.

  11. On me this one smells like burnt sugar (overcooked caramel), smoke and little spices + dry vanilla. Looking at the notes and reading that it smells like a cookie I expected it to be too sweet. On me it isn't sweet a tiniest bit though, but instead is very smokey and tobacco-like. Reminds me of vanilla flavored hookah tobacco (shisha), and I get the same associations from other people too. Definitely this turned out better than I expected.

Wearing RF /w SS4W around my SO always got him all over me, leading to sensual and disinhibited sex. First time I used RF he said I smelled like flavored tobacco smoke and dragged me to bed right away. Possibly his reaction was related to both scent and mones, as this does smell sexy. Since then it's been one my favorites.

With other people no over the top phero hits, but I feel sexy and think I am also perceived that way.

EDIT: I did not remember ever wearing RF for so long, but now about 8 hours after the application burnt sugar has almost completely disappeared and that made vanilla really pop. The scent turned into a very soft sweet vanilla and spicy tobacco. I can't believe that there's no tobacco note in this one, probably spices read like it. Very interesting one.

  12. First when applying I get thick yummy cream with a hint of a gross rotten fruit (possibly mango doing that, fruits can go all weird on me). Luckily 20-30 minutes later the fruit is all gone and Amazonia Zee becomes absolutely lovely cream with a hint of coconut and something misty/mossy floral in it. I love that phase, I'd want to wear it forever.

Later it gradually turns into musky sweet coconut, beautiful scent as well.

This one would be a solid candidate for my FB list, if it was not sold out already :)

  13. I'm almost through my sample vial, but still can't decide if I want a FB of this one or not.

It causes me changes my mind several times a day.

In the vial it smells very delicate and beautiful and I can pick myrrh in it, some spices and sweet honey there too. When applied it turns to very aggressive and sharp floral (I guess lotus), and that's when I think that no way I'm going to wear it ever again. It literally attacks my nose.

Soon it starts to soften though and becomes incensey with spices again, but no sweetness this time. I do feel the whole Mara's Ancient Egypt concept in this one, this is mysterious and reminds me of every book I ever read about that culture. Very special and beautifully designed perfume for sure.

Now few hours after application it is soft and beautifully unusual, and makes me want to buy it again. Tricky little beast!

PS: I love that label picture too.

  14. On me this opens as berries with a hint of fruitiness and coconut. Also I smell some kind of sugar that is not sweet, if it makes any sense. Very balanced and lovely scent for daytime. I don't really pick the rum there, or perhaps it's what I think as fruitiness.

After couple hours berries start fading and are replaced by delicious vanilla with musk, making the scent quite different from where it starts, but still absolutely great.

The only problem with this one is that it does not last long on me. I don't mind to reapply though.

  15. You could search for Tyveys Coconut coffeee Ice Cream on the trade threads...or send out an ISO. All the coffee scents I can think of have chocolate in them...Velvet Kisses, Tittillating Temptress...

Vamp Cafe is soooo gorgeous. it is in the $10 bin too. Maybe you would like that?

    Thank you for the suggestions!

There is Patchouli paste listed in Vamp Cafe description, and I am apparently very sensitive to patchouli. In LP Original/Black/Red I can smell it without opening the vials and it totally grosses me out. I'll have to gift those vials to someone I guess...

Perhaps I could incorporate my coffee or tea scent ideas in a PE one day. But that'll be in a distant future I think, there is much to learn before that.

Hi Fleur! I just wanted to say, welcome to the forum! Sounds like you're already having lots of fun here! :D

Thanks! I sure am having fun here :)

  16. Welcome Fleur! Reading your scent preferences, you MUST get Fleur de Vanille! It has the perfect balance of soft florals and sweet vanilla.

Thanks! I'm getting that one for sure :)

    Welcome Fleur!!!!

I'm glad ya decided to step outta the shadows and join the party!! :D

We do have a blast here! I think you'll find it the most genuine, down to earth and fun loving forum community ever!

There's a, bit of good natured ribbing and debate here, but we are a very low drama group.

Personally, when I joined LP, I was initially attracted to the pheros too. Before being here,I really hadn't heard much about them and wasn't even aware that there was more than one kind. Boy, have I learned alot since then! But-the longer I've been here experiencing Maras scents, the pheros have taken the backseat and really become more of a secondary "bonus" to the beautiful perfumes here. I'm smitten with them, and I find that they enhance my mood as well as the moods of others very well on their own.

I'll toss in another vote for Fleurs de Vanille too. I tried it for the first time yesterday(thanks BB!), and its lovely!

As we get to know you, I'm sure we will have many more suggestions for ya.

Good to meet you, and again: :welcome384:

You're so wonderful! I am enjoying LP forums a lot, all the fragrance information and just general chitchat here.

And I am a believer in Mara's fragrance magic now, completely understand you in that. I still love experimenting with pheromone blends from many vendors though, but they also seem work significantly better when paired with proper LP scents. And on the days I'm not wearing pheromones for any reason, great perfumes do add that spark regardless.

On another note, I'd like to throw in a sample of something coffee-smelling with my next order, but could not find anything that would excite me desription-wise. I'd love something like Velvet Coffee Cream hydrating water but in a perfume form. Encens de Café seems to be heavy on dark resins that generally make me nauseous, and Bananoffee Coffee is probably too sweet for my liking (but that one I think I'd try anyway). Is there anything else with coffee but no chocolate/resins that would come to your mind?

I am a lifetime tea and coffee lover (and do choose this addiction over going for healthy non-coffeinated life) and the aroma is always a huge part of drinking experience. And I am heavily convinced that good coffee always has to have rich wonderful aroma or there is something wrong with it. So I am just curious if that feeling is possible to recreate wearing a perfume.

And I found an old thread about Tyvey's Coconut Coffee Ice Cream PE that sounds exactly like what I'm thinking about. Too bad it's long gone :)

Well, I guess I should ask for advice in a proper forum section, and here it is just as a part of introducing myself :cheers04251:
