  1. I can't wait to try this one. Today I bought a full bottle unsniffed because of the interesting comments in this thread. I was ordering some other things, some for me and some for a birthday gift, and Hexen came to mind and I hunted up this thread. That was all it took!

  2. Great report stkatz! But, I think I would have gotten his number.....or offered him mine.....

    Thanks, Dolly!

We live about six hours apart, and I've done the long-distance relationship thing in the past . . . not inclined to go down that road again. I felt really good enjoying the couple hours for what it was and being able to take the memory away without needing/wanting more than that.

    HOORAY FOR ME!

    :P

  3. I had the scented Cougar on this weekend when I attended a concert out of state. The weather was chilly, so I had a turtleneck under a sweater (didn't want to have to deal with a coat) -- so not much skin where I had applied the Cougar potion was exposed. But . . . a gentleman who had come to the concert alone (as I had) happened to have the seat next to mine. We said hello and introduced ourselves (first names only, alas) and then chatted and enjoyed the concert as if we already knew each other and had gone there together. If this had been a first date, there was enough connection and rapport for there to be a second -- but it wasn't, and that's OK. I was just there to enjoy the show and have a good time, and having someone to share it with was a bonus. A totally fun evening and a great memory.

    :P

  4. I ordered a full bottle of this unsniffed, because someone mentioned it might be similar to Sandman Snoozeth because of the German Chamomile. My order came this afternoon, and I barely got the box open before I uncapped this bottle. I have loved and hoarded my little tester of Sandman ever since I got it (and the potion became unavailable). Now, comparing the two, I have to say that I like Le Sommeil Des Anges even better! It has more depth and character than Sandman. Where the rose in Sandman gives a very soft sweetness, the jasmine in Le Sommeil Des Anges a top note that draws me in to the softness beneath.

This will definitely be more than a sleep scent for me. It makes me feel too good -- I would wear this as an everyday scent instead.

  5. I can't believe I haven't written a review on this one yet.

In the bottle: Bright, fresh berries, with a sharp sparkle which can almost be distinguished as pine.

On wet: Juicy is really the only word that fits. The peppermint and the pine play very well together, and work as the perfect frame for the explosive juciness of the fruit.

Drydown: Eventually the plum comes through, and has the longest staying power, making this scent go from a bright pinkish red to a darker, purpler fuscia as it evolves. The pine eventually wins out over the peppermint, matching the darkness of the plum.

This blend is so exact that the icy frosting of pine and peppermint is more of a sparkle on the fruit than it's own note. The fruit are much more tangy than I expected, but every bit as juicy as I hoped. I really love this one.

Try wearing it while eating brownies. You will explode with delight.

This was one of the free bottles that I got with my most-recent order, and I have to say that Scourger described it to a T. And she gave me the perfect excuse to bake brownies!

    NOM, NOM, NOM!

  6. Just wanted to say that the two little dabs of this that I put on last night made me feel like I was enveloped in this scent -- it doesn't take much of this one at all! And I could still smell it this morning when I woke up.

It took me a long time to break down and try this one, but I am extremely glad that I did It is definitely becoming one of my favorites!

  7. Has Sugared Honeycomb been rebrewed recently? I got a sample many months ago and it was thick and rich and to die for... but in my latest order I got a full sized bottle, and the scent is nowhere near as strongly honey, but had more sugar to it. To make matters worse, while the sample stays glorious on my skin, the bottled version turns to ash when it dries down.

    *cries*

A lot of perfume oils turn on my skin like this, so if there was any difference between the two versions it might give me a clue as to what to avoid. Any ideas?

    Hi,

Your post made me curious, so I just went and put on some of this fragrance. I have both a sample and a full-size bottle, and I've received both of them within the past couple of months. I can't detect any difference between the two, and I get a definite honey scent -- I would say more honey than sugar on me. As it dries, I still detect honey.

As a rule, before I apply any of these scents, I shake the bottle or the tester a bit or just roll them between my hands. If you're not already doing this, perhaps it would help. Since both my tester and bottle are fairly recent purchases, I can't speak to the denser honey notes from your sample, but I've read that the potions will mature in the bottle a bit over time.

Mara or one of the other ladies can speak more knowledgeably about how the potions mature. I just wanted to throw out some thoughts for you. Hope it helps!

  8. I see a lady who rides a motor bicycle (spelling? lol) leaving everyone behind in dust wearing this. There is some sort of ingredient that makes this "fresh" but still pretty dark (not gothic dark though) yet sexy and dominant.

Sounds like I need this one for when my wrist heals and I can ride my scooter again! LOL

  9. I don't want to review this one because then everyone will know how amazing this is. (Besides, my words could never capture it.)

In the bottle: Spicey, rich, exotic. The myrrh is the only note I can separate enough to identify, and even that is tempered by the other ingredients and made infinitely complex.

On, wet: There is a sweet tanginess which must come from the oranges, though there is nothing which says, "citrus" in this blend. The spicey richness remains, though under it, right against the skin, the cream and honey slips like silk.

Drydown: The creamy base of this lasts a long time, with the ghosts of the rich, bold spices still etched across it.

I hoped so much for this scent, and it surpassed my wildest imaginings. I would say that it is incredibly feminine, because of the warm honey/cream/date mix that keeps it warm and nurturing, but I could see a man pulling this one off as well. I haven't smelled spiciness like this before, with no clove or pepper or indead anything I normally think of as spice. It is heat, and raw, animalistic appeal all wrapped up with just a hint of nurturing instinct before bottling.

Oh, how I need a bottle of this one.

    Me too.

Your review has me so intrigued that I am having to force myself not to pull my wallet out of my bag . . OMG.

  10. Today the county fair starts in town. Normally it takes about 5 to 10 min . to get to work, but when the fair starts its taken as long as 30 mins to get to work{aarrggg!]

So knowing this i decided to wear Le Sommeil Des Anges to see how it works for me.

Let me say it works great . It took 25 min. for me to get to work and some yahoo

darted out in front of my car so I slammed on my breaks and spilled half my latte all over my work slacks.Note: {did not jump out of car and choke living sh#* out of person}lol!

And I didnt even flip him the bird! I give this fragrance five stars , its very calming and after awhile it has a slightly sweet hint to it ,YUM!

    :)

And to think I wanted this one for a sleep scent! It might do me more good than I anticipated!

    Need to order a gallon.........

  11. We've been getting SO MANY special orders for Pure Sugar since it 'sold out' that I brewed a whole 'nother batch and I've decided to make it a staple, (along with Sugared Honeycomb, Sugared Roses, Sugared Patchouli and Sugared Amber). I'll add it back to the webstore when next I update.

    :msn_red_fox_smilies-09:

Thank you!! This is going to be one of my next full-bottle purchases for sure.

  12. I've just put in an order for Sommeil des Anges (this is the one I REALLY need!) and Allegro, with samples of Honeyed Seductions and Autumn Lust, and Bayberry & Gold for my 3-for-2.

Hey, great minds think alike -- those were the two that I ordered! I also ordered True Confessions and Treasured Hearts. My freebies should be Frosted Mulberry and Essence of Luck if they're still available . . . I gave Mara a couple of alternate choices just in case, so my next package could be a surprise!

  13. If you like Lavender, you should try out Sugared LAvender. It is my FAVORITE! so soft and soothing, and the sweetness, mmmm! I highly reccomend it.

Sugared Lavender is definitely wonderful, too. To me, it seems more like a personal, just-for-myself scent than MD Lavender. I love both, but I tend to wear Suagred Lavender as a sleeptime scent only. It is very calming and relaxing, totally lovely!

  14. I think I remember that there were problems which prevent the re-brewing of Sandman Snoozeth. That's why everyone was so keen on making a new sleepy potion for the forum designed August collection. Le Sommeil Des Anges should be available soon, and a little bird told me it will even have the same, (super potent,) German Chamomile that was used in Sandman Snoozeth.

Oooh! I am definitely going to get a bottle of this one when it becomes available!

  15. I put this one on before bed last night. The peppermint and clove were a nice combination as I relaxed into sleep. There HAS to be something in these fragrances that makes me want a full bottle every time I try something new, because Hot Chick has gone on my wish list for my next order! Who needs groceries when you can smell this good?!

  16. OMG, why did I wait so long to try this one?? It is absolutely lovely. The honey was very strong, but not overly so, when I first put this fragrance on. After an hour or so, it mellowed into a sweet, spicy, somewhat floral scent. I am so limited in my ability to describe scents . . . I wish I could convey how inviting this one is. I have a whole package of the July new releases to try, but I just can't stop sniffing the wrist that has Sugared Honeycomb on it.

This one goes on the full-bottle wish list for sure!
