  1. My favorite of the vault labels is Papal Purple. I like how she's looking directly at the viewer in a way that seems both calm and immovable. Very regal. I also love the Tropical Musk label. The colors, the shapes, the movement like it's about to burst into life. It captures that almost chaotic release of energy that occurs just as a wave is crashing. I think the somewhat muted colors actually work to enhance the vibrancy, strangely. They're all lovely, though, and I could spend ages staring at them.

  2. You know, when I first tried this I wasn't sure about it. But over the course of the next few days, I COULD NOT stop thinking about it. I was literally lying in bed at night thinking about this perfume. So, of course, I had to go full bottle right away. That was such a good decision. I don't usually post my reviews until long after I've written them, so I'm amused at how my own notes match so many of the other reviews in this thread. I had written how this was a very grown-up, "adult lady" scent. It's very sophisticated. The scent as a whole is so smooth and doesn't really morph much. It stays really consistent. The sandalwood is the most prominent note at first. After a while, the gardenia comes out and blends with the sandalwood, but never overpowers it. It's a gorgeous, subtle scent. It works great on it's own, but is also the kind of scent you can layer under others if they need a grounding depth or to take the bright edge off. It's incredibly versatile, and adds a calming smoothness to other scents. It's just as amazing when it's the star of the show.

ETA: I think this is one of those scents that has managed to fly under the radar and is far more underrated than it should be.

  3. Unfortunately, ginger does not mix well with my skin chemistry. Double unfortunately, my skin also amps it. :(  The first seconds of this are rose, and then the ginger takes over. I can't pinpoint the lemon as a distinct note, but it still somehow reminds me of the lemon that comes through the lemon variant of Inna's Gadda Davita. I can't smell the rose much after that first whiff, but when it does poke through, it's a powdery, soapy type of rose. The ginger isn't a foody ginger, it's more of a floral ginger. Somehow, the ginger, amber, and powderiness of the rose are combining to make this almost sandy on me. Overall, it's a very warm scent. I was really looking forward to this one, but sadly it just doesn't work on me.

I apologize. I had actually planned something for December but I've had some crises to deal with and didn't get it completed in time. I still plan on the set, it will not be deliverable by Xmas tho, sorry! And it was not holiday specific scents at any rate. I still plan to have them up by New Years.

Oh, no! I hope things are getting better for you. ❤️ ❤️ Please don't let out impatience add any stress to your life. You do so much already, and have created such a wonderful business and amazing products. You've added so much to other people's lives. I really hope the new year goes easy on you and brings great things your way!! I'll be looking forward to the scents whenever they arrive.

  5. This goes on very purple with a lot of sweetness. It's not really sheer or heavy, more of a midweight, I'd say. It's smooth, with a hint of something dry in the background. A rich scent almost like unburned incense develops, that's not quite powdery and not quite spicy. The scent isn't overly complex, but still sophisticated and luxe. It's a touch perfumey in a way that most lpmps aren't, but not a modern perfume, more like an old fashioned exotic perfume you'd expect to find in a bazaar somewhere a century ago. It's nice, but it's just not me.

The wisteria dies down pretty quickly, leaving the underlying notes. When the wisteria is prominent it's very summery, but after the wisteria disappears it feels more autumnal or wintery. About an hour or so in, it becomes sweeter and a bit smoky, but eventually turns powdery. I think it could layer well with other scents.

  6. Wow! Just wow. This one is so gorgeous. I took a flyer and got a bottle of this unsniffed since I was craving musk scents. I am so glad I did because this is amazing! It is so beautiful. Straight off I can smell the daffodil. It's very warm and sunny, a perfect scent for spring or summer. The floral gives it a nice brightness, while the musk provides a fuzziness underneath. Wearing it feels like taking a warm nap in the afternoon sun, like lying in a sunbeam. It doesn't morph, just stays a gorgeous floral over a soft musk. Soooooooo pretty. It became an instant fave. I could be happy smelling this forever. I wish I had 100 bottles.

  7. This one is so fantastic! It was a full bottle right away for me. This is a dark, rich, coffee scent, with just the barest hint of sweetness. It's an indulgent bitterness that is somehow refreshing at the same time. The peppermint isn't loud enough to pick out, but gives this a bit of tingle that is reminiscent of winter. As it dries down, it becomes a little more creamy but still retains the gorgeous bitterness. I know I keep saying bitter, but it wears really easily. It's the bitterness of sticking your face in a bag of freshly ground coffee beans. Robust and rich. In addition to smelling great on its own, I think this would be good to layer under any scents that may seem too sweet on their own, to balance them out and cut the sweetness.

  8. This smelled not at all like I expected reading the notes. It starts out kind of boozy and a little smoky, kind of like a cigar bar. It reminds me of a fireplace or burning leaves, making it feel like a late fall scent. Then, it becomes mostly juniper. At least I think it's juniper, it's sort of like pine, but not actual pine. About an hour in, the sandalwood starts to become more prominent.

On me, it starts out on the masculine side of unisex and keeps getting more and more masculine. It's like something an old fashioned fisherman would wear, when he's not out on the boat, but relaxing by the fire in a thick cable knit sweater while smoking a pipe. If you've ever seen the movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir", this scent is exactly what I imagine the ghost wearing.

  9. This one starts out like cotton candy, with the other scents in the LP base keeping it from getting too sickly sweet. An hour later the cotton candy starts to recede and the vanilla takes over. LIke everyone else has said, this eventually dries down into the typical love potion scent. I really amp patch, and on me the patchouli in this one threatens to get overwhelming, but stays just inside the lines.

I wasn't here yesterday when mailman tried to give me my latest order, I have this and Unbeleafable and some other goodies and I'm so sad that they say i can't even pick it up until tomorrow.

This. I want this. Now would be good.

A few days ago, I was somewhere that had one of those stands and standing near it smelled just like Z-Day. It was so good. Of course, I had to buy some. For research. ;)

  11. I usually like to wear something more than once before I review, but I thought I'd try something different and review on the day I've been trying it out. This one has stayed really consistent throughout the day, it didn't morph much at all. It got a little warmer on the long, long drydown, but that's about it. On me this is all sweet nuttiness. It's like a less sweet pecan pie. It's sweet, but not tooth achingly so. I don't really get the berries at all. They may be adding just a hint of freshness in the background, but I can't distinguish them as individual notes. This is very much a fall scent. I keep thinking how nice it would be paired with a coffee scent. I think it could work on a guy if he didn't mind sweeter scents. I know I'd like a man who smelled like this. I was a bit worried because sometimes the milk/butter/cream notes can go very bad on my skin, but they worked really well in this and weren't a problem at all. It's quite a nice scent.

ETA: I just realized what it reminds me of. You know those nuts that are covered in sugar and a little spice? Well, if you've ever seen one of those stands where they make them fresh, with the nuts being coated as you watch, that's what this smells like on me. It makes me want one of those paper cones filled with yummy goodness.

  12. I really like this one and was so happy to get a bottle during the sale. I was craving currant scents this summer, so it was perfect. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I didn't get any incense at all. At first, this was very red and fruity. Tart, but with a hint of juicy sweetness underneath. The musk was like a wild animal, growling in the background, just kind of making its presence and power known, without coming out of the shadows; slinking around but giving the scent more body and muscle. Within an hour, most of the fruit had disappeared and it became mostly musk and much closer wearing. After several hours, only the musk remained and only up close, but in a way that made it even more seductive if you were fortunate to get close enough to smell it. Sometimes musk can go sharp on me, but this one stayed really nice throughout.

  13. This one is creamy and fruity. Sweet cream is the strongest scent, but it's followed by hints of tropical fruit that just poke their noses out a bit; like you ordered a sweet, creamy, slightly coconut dessert, and someone else at the table ordered a fruit one. The fruit is there, but it's a little further away and not as strong. Just a brightness in the background. The coconut comes out more as it continues to dry down. The creaminess makes this one surprisingly heavy, so despite the tropical fruit notes, it's not really a summer scent. All in all, it is a very lpmp scent, if that makes sense.

  14. In the bottle this is pumpkin spice latte. On my skin, however, the resins are really strong in a dusty/dusky sort of way. I amp patch and it is at the forefront, here. Combined with the smoke note, this is very reminiscent of burning incense. It reminds me a lot of being in high school, sitting next to a stick of burning incense and watching the smoke curl upwards. The bitterness of the coffee keeps it from going full blown incense, though. About 15 minutes in the patch is still predominant, but it starts getting sweeter from the maple. The long, long dry down is mostly maple patch, albeit slightly muted. This one is very unisex on me.

I got a definite hit on Leather today. 1 spray + cops. I was grocery shopping as usual - not looking like I needed any help. A male employee walked by, saying, “How are you doing?” “Fine, thanks,” I answered politely, still paying attention to shopping. Three or four steps after he passed me - long enough to smell my perfume - he abruptly skidded to a halt and came back, asking if I needed any help. No? Was I sure? He smiled at me while walking backwards, before walking on.

I didn’t want to report this in the Leather bonding thread, but I’m not sure how to start a journal. Saving it here before I forget.

     I’m ordering a sampler soon. :)

That hit sounds like it would be great to add to the Leather review thread, if you want to report it somewhere without waiting for a journal. I'm cracking up at the image of him walking backwards. ?
