  1. Mmmmmm-MMM! THAT is the STUFF! I lamented the inevitable discontinuation of Mourning Glory from a couple years back before I could get a full size spray of it and was hoarding the rest of my oil, so when I saw this pop up I sprang for a spray of it instantly. No regerts, lol.

This is soooooo amazingly delicious and sexy and androgynous and deep. Its blended very well, and out of the mail, the dark chocolate sits right on top, joined by some swoony, smoky champa and a few minutes after developing these melt and deepen into a pool of somewhat 'dusty' (in a dry autumn leaf way, not dusty attic way) dragons blood, dark, full bodied coffee and chewy patch. I don't pick out musk on its own, but I imagine it's what's making this gorgeous philtre waft and throw and move through the air in such a sensual way. The overall effect is a real showstopper for anyone who loves gourmand cool weather scents. This one is a true dark delight and I'm so happy I had the good sense to grab a big bottle right away. It is absolutely on par with my dear Mourning Glory.

For anyone who has tried both, how does this compare to last year's Earth and Urn? The 'earth' note kept me away from that one because I'm not really a fan of soil notes, but if it's not prominent, I may want to give it a shot.

  2. Stalking again. Last year I almost missed the sale completely because the time had moved from like August to around now-ish,lol. I had like ONE DAY to get my order together, haha. Don't want that happening again. Anyway how are all of you doin? Also looking forward to some New stuff, of course, though that spell collection is wonderful! There's still a few more of those I want to grab, and back ups for a couple too.

The nag champa is really up-front in this blend, so yes it has that classic incense evocation.  The sweetness is especially present in the opening, but eventually sort of disappears into the other notes.  Overall it's not too overpowering, even as an incense-type mix can be very robust.

@cheeseburger79 - I think this is definitely something you would enjoy.

Hee hee...I've been lurking around this thread looking for more reviews. You got my number, haha. Thanks for the recommendation! This is the one that sticks out most to me. 🤩

  4. Between The Creme Cake and the Cassia, what's more potent? I want to add a delicious fall gourmand to my stash. I have The Empress from the tarot collection and that's super oatmeal cookie like to me,so I'm leaning towards Cassia, but I love strong and lasting scents, so what do you guys think between those two?

@cheeseburger79 I thought that might be who your avatar was. Coincidentally I tried to set my much beloved dog  who I lost recently as my avatar, and couldn’t get it small enough either.  What I did to make this avatar the right size I don’t know.  It’s disconcerting seeing my eye looking back at me,  but I can’t seem to get around to trying to create another one.

This new release is a winner, isn’t it!

Yes!! All three that I have tried are! It's an actual near tragedy that I almost missed out on Mourning Glory. THAT is my favorite LP that I e tried so far this year, including the other sale ones I got. Maybe even in years, haha. I can't believe I even waffled on it for a second!

@cheeseburger79  I’m still getting used to your new avatar! It’s good to see you posting again though.

I remember that for my first sale, it was you who helped me decide if I wanted to get Highland Fling or not.  (So glad I did😊)

Yay! I'm glad you love it! It's always nice to be back here on the forum. It's the first one I ever joined, almost 13 years ago!! Can't believe it's been so long, haha. LP, well,Mara,  is definitely responsible for starting my lifelong love of scent and learning all I can about it. :)

Luna, thanks again, I added it to my list! Right now I'm swimming in BeeWitched, and this is HEAVENLY!!

Oh and that avatar is the Vampire Lestat from the Anne Rice books. I love that scoundrel. He's my avatar on fragrantica too. I tried to have a picture of me with my dog, but apparently that was "too big".

  7. This is happy happy happy! If anyone remembers the old Fairy Lure or even Caught in the Act, it has a similar top to it. No creamy or bakery notes, but shiny, happy, sparkly candy vibes up top. This one is nice and strong too, it lasted most of the day on me. The resins come out, but they remain candy 'flavored' throughout the wear. Beccah's strawberry incense remark is quite apt. I was side eyeing that wormwood because Absinthe scents are no friend of mine, but it didn't make itself known as...itself,haha. I got this because my new house is definitely haunted. My boyfriend, my mother and myself have all seen or heard this ghost on (multiple) separate occasions in the two months we've been here. I've lived in houses that I SUSPECTED may be haunted before, but the ghost in THIS house is a regular showboat. I haven't run a history on the house yet, but I will, I just know it was built about 70 years ago. It's a guy(sounds like one,and my mom saw 'a guy' shaped shade). So anyway I got this to say 'hi ghost. I'm friendly. You be friendly too!! So far he is, just very noisy and 'busy'.

Happily, I love the scent as well!

  8. Hey Luna(and anyone who has tried both). 🙂 So I liked Encens de Cafe too, but it was not quite turned up enough for me. Kind of a softer one. Would you say this is like "Encens de Cafe L'Intense" ? Ha. I'm real intrigued here, especially since this had opium, but I do want it to hit me a little harder than it's predecessor. Sorry to bug you but I gotta get this sale list finished before it turns into a pumpkin.
